  • What a great house!!

"This was our family's first trip to Avalon, and we loved it. A critical part of our wonderful experience was staying at this house. SO highly recommended! The house is incredibly charming (built in 1924, with many original features) home looking over the harbor and the iconic Avalon casino. It is very spacious and comfortable. We were 9 adults, and had plenty of room to be together while also having privacy in the bedrooms. The kitchen and dining room and living room flow together very easily. The views are AMAZING. Location: The house could not have a better location, right above the harbor yet very private, and only 1/2 mile from the Avalon Casino. In between is the very special town that is Avalon, with shops and restaurants, ice cream and bakeries, and a feeling of stepping back in time to a gentler place. Everything is easy walking distance from the house. The House: The view from three sides of the house is spectacular, day and night. It was wonderful to wake up and watch the harbor come alive sitting in the living room with a cup of coffee and to enjoy the twinkling lights in Avalon in the evening. The kitchen is fully stocked, clean, and everything works well. The five bedrooms are all VERY comfortable. The three bathrooms had no issues with our large group, and the owner thoughtfully included soaps and extra toilet paper. The stairs: This is really not an issue. I was worried before booking, given past reviews and that my husband and I are nearing 60. Do not worry about these stairs, they are not challenging at all. Finally, the cost per night may seem daunting (it was to me), but it is actually a bargain. I did a lot of research into the options for hotels and B&Bs for our family trip. This house was economical in comparison, sight unseen. Now that we have been there, I can only say this: Lucky you if you have the opportunity to rent this house, as the experience is priceless."

  • The location was perfect to go to Venice Beach

"I enjoyed the convenience of having no keys to enter the home, especially as a family of 4 with different agendas. This also allowed for a seamless self check-in. The location was perfect to go to Venice Beach or even downtown L.A. Complimentary parking was a bonus as well in a small town like Venice Beach. The house itself is clean and had everything our family could have needed during our stay - my favourite was the addition of beach towels which was one less thing to pack. Venice beach, paddle tennis, sightseeing, shopping, Santa Monica Pier. When I had difficulty understanding the check-in process as a new client I found Guillermo Mouet helpful. He provided the check-in information ahead of time so that I was well prepared as I was travelling the day before my intended check-in date and could not guarantee internet access to obtain codes for entry. Additionally, I believe I spoke to a gentleman on the phone by the name of Dave (David?) who took the time to help me reboot access onto the Globe Homes and Condos app which had useful information I wanted. The program was glitching and did not recognize my username and password. Overall I had a great experience and although I had to check-out early due to a family emergency back home, I enjoyed my time at the property and dealing with the company. I will considering returning for future vacations."

  • Beautiful house, great location

"Our family celebrated our mom being in remission from cancer. There were 20 of us in total. Both my sons flew into LAX from different places, and the house is conveniently, just 15 min from the airport. The house was beautiful! Every bedroom had its own bathroom, there's a hot tub on the roof and we especially enjoyed our meals at the big kitchen table. There are also great little shops and restaurants all around the house. The beach is just a couple of blocks away, easy to walk to. At night, we drove to the pier for dinner. It was the perfect place for us to celebrate!"

  • Perfect Family Getaway in Long Beach

"Our family stayed five nights at this cottage, and we wish it could have been longer! We're already talking about returning to this home. We have a big family and it's hard to find places that will fit all of us, but this one did with no problem! The house is very clean, airy, and bright. We had a problem with the a/c, but Ferrara was more than accommodating and immediately responsive. The kitchen was fully stocked and is only about four blocks from a grocery store. The house is about 1/2 mile - a pleasant walk - from the beach. The neighborhood is nice, too! I know parts of Long Beach are fairly industrial, so I was worried about this. But the cottage is in a nice neighborhood. We enjoyed the back deck, too. Yes, the loft/3rd bedroom is hot, but the a/c cools it down quickly. My only suggestion is to provide more blankets and perhaps towels. If it sleeps 7, there should be adequate blankets for 7! However, this minor issue is not enough to knock off a star. We have stayed in a lot of short-term rentals, and this one is probably at the top of the list."
