  • Great Vacation Getaway!

"Great vacation! The property was great, and we expect it will get better every year as the owner was very responsive and seems interested in improving the property (don't think they have owned it long). We rented a 25' deck boat and had a jet-ski for a couple days too and found the dock to be easy to navigate and had plenty of water under it. Very quiet cove that afforded the dock area a nice breeze and SHADE after about 11am so watching the kids swim and paddle-board was very enjoyable - especially with a corona and blue-tooth radio. My wife and I brought 3 of our children and one friend - and for a couple days, one of our older daughters joined with her 2-year old baby. The house handled us just fine - the younger kids in the extra room , the boys upstairs, my wife and I in the master and our daughter and baby in the queen bedroom. This place is an easy/comfortable vacation cottage - the dual sliding doors out to the SHADED porch was great for breakfast in the morning and was big enough to enable us to host an additional family of 4 for dinner one evening. We were all surprised there were no mosquitoes (though we did use citronella candles at night), and we thoroughly enjoyed a few cocktails and conversation into the night while our older boys helped navigate the smores at the fire-pit. The house is only 5 miles away from food-lion/bridge which was handy for us since we like to cook but rarely have everything we need - however, the house felt very remote and woodsy with no neighbors on top of us. The location on the lake made it pretty easy to get everywhere. We brought a few coolers with us and actually left one on the boat, one on the dock and one on the porch which we kept full of water and drinks - that way we just bought ice everyday either on the lake or at food lion - this is a tactic I'd recommend if you go - the walk up and down to the dock is not bad at all, but we found it easier to just carry the ice down and re-stock as needed."

  • Great property and great location!

"We were a group of 4 couples and had a great time! Close to the marina by car or boat. We will definitely stay here in the future if we ever come back to SML!"

  • Another great stay at Tranquility Bay

"We had a great time returning to Tranquility Bay this Fall. We first stayed at the property in 2015 and were so impressed with the house and Dave's hospitality that when we decided to return to SML, there wasn't a doubt where we wanted to stay! We enjoyed the new additions to the property this year - the hammocks, floating dock, and ping pong table were a bit hit. Of course, we still enjoyed the fire pit, kayaks, and paddle boat! It should be noted that Dave is a very responsive and thoughtful host. Upon learning we would have a baby joining us this year, he kindly offered to provide a crib and have it set up in the bedroom of our choosing. It was a great help! Same as last year, the kitchen was well stocked and having linens, soaps, etc. all provided was a plus. The beds are SO comfortable! Everyone complimented that they slept so well on them! Thanks, Dave, for letting us stay again at Tranquility Bay. We can't wait to come back next year!"
