Sleek, smart and fairly humming with energy, you cannot pass Dilke Street 2 without wanting to climb inside. That chic sofa upholstered in fashionable grey, the gleaming wood floors, the chrome of the kitchen glinting in the sun… this home is exhilaratingly luxe – and the location’s fantastic, too. In a prime spot down beside the Thames, between Chelsea Physic Garden and Ranelagh Gardens, you’ve plenty of space to put your foot down. King’s Road’s designer shops and restaurants are right around the corner, and you’re close to Sloane Square, Kensington and the museums. Homes like this don’t hang around for long, so grab the keys while you can.
A need for speed
Your hosts’ main home is in Australia, where they reside with their young children. He competes in motorsport events, and Dilke Street 2 is a handy European base, both for his work, and for their other great love – skiing.
Move up a gear
The ground floor is open plan, the high-spec kitchen opening out onto a relaxed seating area filled with crisp, clean lines and, on the wall, two sun-drenched views of Paris. Descend to the snug creamy sitting room, its spotlights illuminating three squashy sofas and an enormous TV. The two bathrooms are just as snazzy, all warm wood and sandstone. There are three bedrooms, a bunk-bedded twin, a guest double and the quietly plush master bedroom. The bed’s plumptiously snug, and you’ve a view out into a courtyard.
If you need to refuel, King’s Road is the place to go, where you’ll find a terrific array of cafes and restaurants. Sample some of Gordon Ramsey’s triple Michelin starred cuisine on Royal Hospital Road, shop on Sloane Square, or make your way up into Kensington for an afternoon at the museums. And you’re not far from the centre of town, whether by cab, or by tube. The journey from Sloane Square to Piccadilly Circus takes around fifteen minutes.
A welcome pack will be provided on arrival and an iPhone will be available for you during the duration of your stay.
The drawing room on the lower ground floor level does not have any windows.
Only five chairs are shown around the dining table in our pictures, there is a sixth chair however, in the double bedroom....moreless
