  • Blissful

"The time my friends and I spent here was beyond memorable and this beautiful house provided us with those memories. The newly renovated rooms decor fits in with the serene environment that is Montauk, NY. The natural sunlight emits through the window filled house casting a spell filling you with a sense of relaxation that cannot be masked anywhere else. The smell of the lake in the morning is a wondrous scent and you catch yourself admiring the beauty, losing track of time."

  • Location, Location, Location...to the beach!

"This was our first time renting a cottage in Montauk as opposed to staying in a hotel. We went with another couple and wanted a place with our own bedrooms with a comfortable common area so that we could eat, hang out and talk and this cottage met the criteria. It was also a short walk to the beach and very secluded from the main road. Alison was there to meet us when we got there and was very helpful with any questions or additional needs that we had. It was clean and quaintly decorated. From what I am told, a lot of the cottages built for only summer use in the similar price range are on the older side, with a rustic feel, and dank smell to them, as was this one. There were 2 bedrooms. The master had a comfortable king size bed, high ceilings and big windows that let in the early light. There were no room darkening shades. So, if you are able to sleep in a fully brightened room it shouldn’t be a problem. There was also a nest or 2 of baby birds living under the roof. Not sure when they leave the nest for good but they tended to get up and started chirping around sunrise (5am) which made sleeping soundly after 5am in the master bedroom a little challenging. The other bedroom was smaller (b/ still a good size) with only 1 window and shades that blocked out the sun. I know that a lot of people prefer a firm/hard mattress but I would consider bringing a foam mattress topper for additional comfort. The kitchen had all the amenities that we needed for our stay and the living room area was very inviting and comfortable. One last thing that didn’t take away from the amazing time we had but did prove to be a bit of an annoyance was the amount of flies that were in the house. When the windows were left open to take advantage of the fresh air/breezes, it appeared that they came in though the small holes in the screens. Needless to say, the fly swatter came in very handy "

  • The greatest experience and what a beautiful home

"This was a special weekend for me. I completed the 1/2 ironman distance triathlon in Montauk and I also celebrated my 50th birthday with my close family (mom, brothers, my two children, my girlfriend). The house was beautiful and allowed for wonderful memories. The owners were incredibly easy to deal with and just wonderful people."

  • Perfect place to stay for a large family, loved it

"We were in Montauk for a family wedding and wanted our family from all over the country to be able to stay together. Lorraines home really was perfect. The listing did describe the home very well. We loved the decor and how spacious it is. The decks were fantastic.. It if was too hot we used the downstair deck and if anyone wanted to sunbathe they would use the top deck. The home was very clean and will maintained. I would highly reccomend this home for a large family. We were there for a wedding so it was great for our four adult children and their families and us.. The large table in the kitchen was the center or attraction for us. Just to be able to sit and chat and catch up with everyone was something I will treasure forever. You could not do this at a motel. There is a pool table downstairs which was so much fun for our boys, and we did use the bikes also. Just a heads up as we did have a little trouble finding the home because our google map could not find it. It was no problem because I called Lorraine and she came out to the end of her driveway and waved us in! I would certainly recommend this property to anyone! We found that "16 Gravesend Ave " worked better than the actual address."
