  • Amazing Property & great vacation for the family

"Our family had an amazing time renting this property. The house was so spacious and the grounds were beautiful! our son had a blast running around on the huge lawn! Everyday we had deer that would great us at night while we were cooking or dining out on the deck. The house had so much room...the rooms are at one end of the house so when the kids went to bed they would not hear us in the kitchen/great room area or on the deck outside. The location was ideal too! You get so much privacy with this house but then you are a quick walk or bike into town. We enjoyed going to the beach everyday which is only a quick car ride, for the kids, or a walk down the hill. Chris was great to deal with and was very accommodating. We will definitely be looking into renting next year to continue our family tradition! Thank you for everything Chris!"

  • Location, Location, Location...to the beach!

"This was our first time renting a cottage in Montauk as opposed to staying in a hotel. We went with another couple and wanted a place with our own bedrooms with a comfortable common area so that we could eat, hang out and talk and this cottage met the criteria. It was also a short walk to the beach and very secluded from the main road. Alison was there to meet us when we got there and was very helpful with any questions or additional needs that we had. It was clean and quaintly decorated. From what I am told, a lot of the cottages built for only summer use in the similar price range are on the older side, with a rustic feel, and dank smell to them, as was this one. There were 2 bedrooms. The master had a comfortable king size bed, high ceilings and big windows that let in the early light. There were no room darkening shades. So, if you are able to sleep in a fully brightened room it shouldn’t be a problem. There was also a nest or 2 of baby birds living under the roof. Not sure when they leave the nest for good but they tended to get up and started chirping around sunrise (5am) which made sleeping soundly after 5am in the master bedroom a little challenging. The other bedroom was smaller (b/ still a good size) with only 1 window and shades that blocked out the sun. I know that a lot of people prefer a firm/hard mattress but I would consider bringing a foam mattress topper for additional comfort. The kitchen had all the amenities that we needed for our stay and the living room area was very inviting and comfortable. One last thing that didn’t take away from the amazing time we had but did prove to be a bit of an annoyance was the amount of flies that were in the house. When the windows were left open to take advantage of the fresh air/breezes, it appeared that they came in though the small holes in the screens. Needless to say, the fly swatter came in very handy "

  • Montauk waterfront studio

"This studio was everything we expected. The view of the Long Island sound was spectacular, I can only describe the sunsets with a single word, WOW. The unit was excellent very clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely be returning to this gem on the water. Oh and did I mention I was catching fish right from the properties deck? Nancy was the perfect host."

  • Perfect place to stay for a large family, loved it

"We were in Montauk for a family wedding and wanted our family from all over the country to be able to stay together. Lorraines home really was perfect. The listing did describe the home very well. We loved the decor and how spacious it is. The decks were fantastic.. It if was too hot we used the downstair deck and if anyone wanted to sunbathe they would use the top deck. The home was very clean and will maintained. I would highly reccomend this home for a large family. We were there for a wedding so it was great for our four adult children and their families and us.. The large table in the kitchen was the center or attraction for us. Just to be able to sit and chat and catch up with everyone was something I will treasure forever. You could not do this at a motel. There is a pool table downstairs which was so much fun for our boys, and we did use the bikes also. Just a heads up as we did have a little trouble finding the home because our google map could not find it. It was no problem because I called Lorraine and she came out to the end of her driveway and waved us in! I would certainly recommend this property to anyone! We found that "16 Gravesend Ave " worked better than the actual address."
