La Selva Giardino del Belvedere, private villa with swimming pool 30/40 minutes from Florence, Siena and Arezzo
In the middle of the Chianti Hills, tucked away amongst ancient oak trees and olive groves, stands an old stone farmhouse. The villa was built more than 300 years ago, and in 1997 it was fully restructured; using only natural materials following the bio-architecture rudiment; the original character of the house has been carefully preserved.
The villa with the private swimming pool is in the middle of a 32 acres (13 hectares) of private property kept as a natural botanic garden (Giardino del Belvedere) with olive trees, meadows and groves of secular oaks trees and an amphitheatre.
The Amphitheatre: In the wood of centuries-old oaks above the house, there is a stone theatre in perfect harmony with nature.
Extensive natural garden stretch out towards the mountains on the horizon, with inviting pathways which meander through meadows of wild flowers. The house itself reflects the total peace and tranquility of its surroundings.
The rooms are spacious, furnished with antiques, yet offering every modern convenience.
Giardino del Belvedere is a house for all seasons. The old stone walls keep it cool in the summer sun, while great open fireplaces offer warmth and comfort during cooler months.
The nearest village, Montegonzi is 40 min. away by walk and 5 min. by car.
In Montegonzi is a good restaurant, a food shop, a post office and the church
Montevarchi is the nearest important town ( 10 km far) .
