I just came back from a dream trip to Paris from a trip I booked at with Claude on his site. My husband and I had a magical time staying in the charming little flat and I couldn't imagine being in a better location at a better price. Thank god some of these charming, inexpensive places still exist in the center Paris. Claude was extremely informative and the place was exactly as he described. I can't wait to go back. Hopefully the exchange rate will be better next time :(

My best friend and I had the pleasure of renting this apartment for 6 days in May. Everything was found neat and tidy when we arrived. This is an extremely reasonable price for how centrally located the apartment is. On morning walks, I found myself just minutes from Notre Dame, the Pantheon, the Seine, and beautiful shopping districts and markets of St Michel. Communication with the apartment owners was very simple- they always responded fast and were very accommodating! They also left very detailed suggestions for places to visit and good local shopping/restaurants. Note that the photos on this listing show 2 seperate apartments (they are very similar! The owners also rent out the apartment on the same floor side by side. We met the couple staying next door, and they also found their accommodations to be quite enjoyable. The walls are thick, so we never had noise complaints!) In addition, my friend and I had the pleasure of meeting several of the other residents of this building. They were all exceptionally kind and helpful, and by the end of our stay, we'd made some great friends. We would play music together and bring each other little gifts now and then. Overall, our stay here was a wonderful experience, and I would recommend this to anyone, especially for couples:)

My daughter and I just finished up a 4 night stay at this property.....WOW, the place meet our expectations in location, convenience and comfort. Yes there are larger spaces to spend the night, but that would not compare to what you have in this space. The history, location and cleanliness was fantastic. Being in the Latin Quarter and having everything so close we found things we needed within a 5-10 minute walk. Notre Dame was right across the River Seine and with the major Metro stop close by it made it easy to move around the city. The biggest challenge we had was where to have dinner, with so many choices out the door that made the decision harder. But that was made easy by the owners recommendations for dining spots and they also gave us multiple other tips that proved helpful prior to our arrival. Working with the owners was a pleasant experience and their managers in Paris were attentive to our needs. A must do again for my family and something I will recommend to others.

My 12-year-old daughter and I have just returned from the most delightful trip to Paris, due in no small measure to our amazing location at this lovely Studio in Rue St. Severin. You won't find a better spot from which to explore Paris! The studio is right in the heart of the Latin quarter, which means you can literally stroll to so many of the important sites. Not taking the Metro means you experience so much more of Paris on the surface, and we loved the feeling of climbing the ancient, curved staircase to our quaint historic apartment every day. We felt like locals! This apartment is not "touristy" or pretentious. It is tastefully decorated, with great attention to detail...from the coffee machine (we were even treated to delicious Columbian filter coffee) to the amenities in the bathroom, which included a tiny bear for my daughter. What a thoughtful touch! The bed was comfy and the sheets white, crisp and clean. I was a little nervous about the process of checking in at first (there is a lock box which contains the keys and one has to punch in secret codes to get to it), but once there, even a technically challenged person like myself found it very easy to understand and use. Although this apartment is managed long-distance (the owners live in New York City for a large part of the year), they have an excellent system with extremely efficient and reliable Sorbonne students running the day-to-day management of their Studios for them. It works like a charm and we found a friendly note from Samy on our table after coming back from our first day's sight-seeing. Although the building's main entrance is on the Rue St Severin, which is an ancient and narrowish street not meant for cars but which becomes quite busy at night as there are so many excellent restaurants, the actual windows of the studio look out onto a smaller, quieter alley, which means it wasn't noisy for us and we didn't even use the disposable ear plugs which our host so thoughtfully left for us on the bedside table. Claude's paper work and information is faultless...you will receive a full overview of what to expect before you get to the apartment. He will even arrange a shuttle from and back to the airport. I highly recommend this special place to anyone who wants to experience AUTHENTIC Paris. Thank you, Claude, Samy and company, for your part in what had to be one of the best holidays I've ever had!

I was a little nervous booking a studio over the internet from so far away but I needn't have worried. Claude and Violaine were delightful, friendly and helpful. The studio is old but it is very clean, warm and quiet and the location is perfect. This was my first visit to Paris and I fell in love with this most beautiful city. Having my own lovely studio retreat right in the heart of things made for a perfect stay. I recommend booking this studio and getting to Paris as soon as you can, you will not regret it. And take the very helpful advice and tips from Claude and Violaine, they will not steer you wrong. I hope to be back soon. :)

This review is long overdue, but as I sit here in California November 2012 I think of what I was doing exactly one year ago today and cannot help but smile. Our little jaunt into Paris was SO amazing!!! The apartment is in the perfect location, we walked to most sights or took the fun bike rickshaw to the others. I felt like a local staying at this fun and historic apartment, we were not there 30 minutes when the church bells began ringing - it was magical! We did all of the touristy things and enjoyed the Christmas market!!! But we also tried many of the local restaurants and found a love of French cuisine! And the cheese - oh the cheese!!!! We were actually there during a power outage, the entire block went dead - for 2 days! Being from America we thought it would be fixed in a few hours and went out for dinner and a show, to come home to darkness. The local shop owners and restaurant staff stood on the stoops and said this is just how it is sometimes in Paris - no one was at all stressed out about it. I don't tell this story as a bad thing, it was actually an adventure, we were REALLY living like the Parisians. This is an old and amazing city and if you stay at some upscale American type hotel you may not have a power outage but you will also miss out on the real adventure! With the outage we met several local restaurant employees who were so helpful and interesting and spent several fun hours one evening drinking lovely french wine by candle light in a restaurant below the apartment - laughing, making friends and learning all about life in france from a native Parisian. I would stay in this apartment again and again, the location cannot be beat and it was so very very charming. Thank you for the adventure! Brenda :)

We stayed at the St. Severin studio 2 the first week of October and had a wonderful time. The studio was cozy; great for a couple like us. Although the street was noisy, the double pane windows were great about shutting down the noise and we never had trouble at night. The best thing, however, is the location. The studio was only steps from the St Michel Notre Dame Metro station, two L'Open Tour bus hubs (hop in-hop off tour buses), numerous shops and affordable food establishments. The Notre Dame Cathedral, a host of museums including the Orsay and the Louvre, and other historic monuments and places are at walking distance. We got to feel like temporary locals. I recommend it for anyone who likes to travel independently and in their own terms.

My stay at the studio was wonderful. I've visited Paris many times and didn't need to sightsee ... I just needed a space to get some writing done. The studio was sunny & lovely; exactly as pictured on the site and in a fabulous location. The RER from the airport deposited you at the St Michel stop, an easy 5 minutes (if that) from the studio. I felt completely safe in the area, even though I was alone. The Latin Quarter was busy and full of people. It was amazing that Notre Dame was so close. Claude's directions, suggestions & instructions were very helpful ... absolutely go to the Monoprix for your food and other goodies. And if you want to sight see, this location is superb. It means you can get out to see them EARLY before the crowds descend. A great advantage in the summer! All in all, I would stay again ... only for a longer period of time!

We cannot forget the most wonderful days staying in Paris. We love, love so much the place we stayed in at St. Severin. I frequently recall the surroundings, the apartment we rented from you. And we all three love it and would not imagine a place we could like more. We would like to thank you again for helping to find the place to stay for 2 days after the lease of you apartment expired, when you helped us to find place to stay in Paris for two more days, when I had to be in Paris two more days than was scheduled. So thanks for that too. Me and Galina admire you. Maxim is one year older now, than it was in August 2011. He sends warmest regards. And, shame on me, I took the umbrella, which was not Galina’s as I thought in a hurry of packing things. This blue umbrella is on my table for a year, it’s neatly folded, and all the year I was hoping I will bring it back to you personally. Our plans changed, we are not going to Paris this summer, neither anywhere else – Galina will stay all the time in Russia with her father, and help him with the house. Maxim is doing very good at his math studies. We wish all best for you, you wife, and your two children. Sergei, Galina, Maxim - writing from Redmond WA PS. My wife sais right now to send warmest regards. PPS. I forgot to mention many things, like wonderfull little kitchen, and while Galina makes breafast, I walk out a block, and I am just around Notre Dame lit by the morning sun!
