This penthouse is incredible. Its large volumes and high roof, the brightness of the light and the quality of the decoration bring a unique touch. The decoration was kept pure to enhance the beauty of the volume. Perfect for a honeymoon, it may also sleep a 3rd adult or 2 kids on couches.
In the very center of the Latin Quarter, located close to the famous Panthéon, charming Place de la Contrescarpe, Sorbonne University, Saint Germain and the gorgeous Luxembourg gardens, this apartment offers a unique opportunity:
• It is an exceptional deal: the apartment was designed with extra care to comfortably sleep up to 3/4 guests (1 queen bed and 2 couches).
• It is located in a stone building constructed in the 1800s. The building was fully refurbished and redesigned by an architect in 2016. Four similar apartments sleeping for 3 to 6 guests depending on the apt are available in the same building.
The owners have preserved the traditional French apartment style with the beautifully exposed wooden-beams. The apartment is super functional. They have also preserved the elegant French terra cotta tiled floor with a variation of colour and thickness in certain parts of the apartment. This floor style dates back to around 150 years, if not more, and is of great historical significance.
On entering the apartment, one is greeted by a small corridor that serves the toilet to the right, then the well equipped kitchen, and leads to the huge living area.
The Living area offers a generous space. It has 2 windows with view over Paris and the surroundings. Two extra roof windows (with automatic shades) bring sky light. The apt opens on the charming Place Larue which offers various terraces. No building blocks the view: it is open on the Rue Sainte Genevieve, and the famous and beautiful courtyard of the Ecole Polytechnique (host to many international conferences of researchers).
On the right of the living area, a corner sofa and a table seat 4 guests. If needed, the couches may be used on request to sleep an extra adult or 2 kids. There is a wall mounted TV. Walls are decorated with a huge ancient Paris map. On the right the queen size bed is of top quality.
The bathroom is fully tiled with stone. It is on the left of the bed. It offers a bath as we as a large Italian type shower. The bathroom additional windows bring nice light and even sun in the morning.
Right down the building are located many shops, restaurants, bakeries, delies and more. We advise to try “Les pipos” restaurant, typical traditional French food.
The apt location is a perfect base to visit Paris : based in the heart of the old Paris, facing Notre Dame and the trendy Ile saint Louis with, at walking distance, the Marais where are the best clothes shops of Paris. The Sorbonne University, the famous Jardin des Plantes, the Pantheon, the arenes de Lutece, Luxembourg garden and the Cluny Museum of Medieval arts are all steps away. Cross the street and stroll along the banks of the Seine, enjoy a drink on one of the many barges or dance Tango in the “Tino Rossi” square in summer evening time.
It stands 10 minute by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming and restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums.
