Located right in the very center of Rome, in a tranquil cobblestone alley of the historic Trastevere area, this newly renovated and refurbished apartment combines the classic Roman charm of exposed original beams with the comfort and style of modern furnishings. This is an ideal holiday home to experience a great stay in the eternal city!

The area surrounding the apartment:

The luxury suite apartment is situated in the heart of Trastevere, the picturesque medieval area located on the west bank of the Tiber. Part of the historical centre of Rome, Trastevere is the perfect place to glimpse a bit of the old world while still enjoying the lifestyle of today's Romans. From the cobblestone streets to the overhanging laundry lines, senses are pleasantly awakened with every step you take in this bohemian neighborhood.

Equidistant from the Coliseum and the Vatican, Trastevere is an ideal place to discover the secrets of Rome on foot. Saint Peter and the Vatican city are about twenty minutes away and upon crossing the Tiber you get to Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum, and many other sights, in no time at all (15 to 30 minutes walks). If you want to take public transportation, the area is extremely well served by the electric buses of Rome.

A few blocks from the apartment, you can find the outdoor market of Piazza San Cosimato, where tented booths display a bountiful array of tantalizing fruits and vegetables, or the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, the most popular gathering place in the area. In this square you will find the church Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Rome and very much worth a visit.

The area becomes very lively at night as it is full of trendy bars and dozens of quality restaurants and pizzerias, where you can taste great Italian food at reasonable prices.

The apartment:

This charming apartment is located on the ground floor of a 16th Century building and enjoys a private entrance.

The luxury suite has just come out of a full renovation and represents a quintessential Trastevere apartment. The rustic tile floor and the original ceiling beams bring a delightful sense of Roman history, harmoniously matched by the contemporary colors and elegant furnishings. Guests will feel completely at ease from the moment they walk in, thanks to the captivating and warm atmosphere.

The living-dining area of this apartment is welcoming and inviting the guests to relax after trekking around Rome historical centre. In this area you can find a double leather sofa bed suitable for the 3rd guest, one single leather sofa, a coffee table and a plasma TV. The open kitchen is fully equipped with everything guests may need for daily living and it features a countertop and two stools to enjoy a breakfast or a dinner.

The bedroom features a comfortable and stylish handmade iron double bed. Ample clothes storage is provided by the fitted cupboard placed in the small hallway. The beautiful en-suite bathroom comes with a shower cabinet with hydro-massage system to enhance your moments of relaxation. Bed linens and clean towels are all provided.
The apartment also has air conditioning/heating, satellite TV and wireless internet to ensure the guests a maximum level of comfort.

    • We had one wonderful week in Rome, and loved our stay in this apartment. The location is ideal as it is nicely situated away from the tourist bustle, but not far to walk to any of the usual sites. The apartment is conveniently located 2 minutes from the bus stop, if you need to catch the bus (recommended if going to Termini Stazione). It's location in Trestevare is also ideal. The apartment is located just off a street with a good number of cafes, pizzerias and gelatarias with people walking and talking into the night. However, it's removed from the main street, so you can have your peace and quiet. A grocery store and bank is conveniently located 5 mins away. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished, and Romula makes sure you have all you need. The apartment was a very comfortable, relaxing place to come back to. Romula was great - she took the initiative to ensure a pleasant stay for us. She advised us on our day trip to Florence and printed our tickets for our Vatican tour. Our experience was fantastic, and we're recommending this place to our friends.

    • Rome was the last stop of a five week holiday for us in October 2009. We were full of trepidation because we'd been told not to have high expecations for Rome accomodation. Quite to the contrary, this property was a haven and Romula could not have been more helpful. She was well versed in all the local information as she lives locally also. The unit has every convenience that you could think of and we felt welcomed and comfortable. We have been spreading the word since returning to Australia and will certainly return to this property ourselves when next we have the opportunity to be in Rome. Thank you again for wonderful memories.

    • First trip to Rome and was extremely happy with this apartment. It is more than enough room for 2 people and the amenities are fantastic. In a perfect area, with tons of little restaurants (our favorite was Osteria Pucci) and shops, it's also an easy walk to a lot of major sights. You're very close to the Tiber River so it's always easy to find your way. A great place to come back to when you've been exploring all day. For what you get, the apt. is an amazing value. And Romula and Claudio couldn't be any nicer. If you're coming from the airport, I suggest you spend the 40 Euros and have Romula get you a car. It's worth it.

    • Before I start saying anything about the apartment I must write about Romula, the owner. She is absolutely fantastic, there is nothing that is a bother for her. She was a great help for us for getting our Italian visa. She offered us her apartment at a special last minute deal for two nights, and took such good care of us that we couldn't have asked her for anything more. She allowed us to check in early, then kept our bags in her car on the day on our leaving. Though we kept insisting that we could come and collect it from her office in Vatican, she came down to Trastevere to hand over our bags. As for the apartment, it is a perfect place for two people. The bed is extremely comfortable, the living area has enough space to sit and relax. There is a phone that you can use for making reservations etc. Romula even provides you with bathrobes and house slippers. She has thought of everything probably. This apartment is in a small side lane and in spite of the fact that you are bang in Trastevere the house is absolutely quiet. The only thing that I can think of complaining about is the lack of natural light in the apartment. However this would definitely not stop me from going back and staying in this apartment. I believe that this is how most houses in this area are. Moreover during the day one is out sight seeing, so it was never a problem for us. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone without any reservations. Also anyone living here should go and try the many wonderful restaurants in this area. One we particularly enjoyed was Gino's in Trastevere.

    • We love Rome, and especially Trastevere, and over the last few years have rented at least 6 different apartments. This was far and away the nicest, the best furnished and the best located. It is delightful. It is close to everything, at the end of a cul de sac so that it is quiet, and beautifully and tastefully furnished. Romula was very gracious and helpful. From now on, we want this to be our home when we are in Rome. It is a wonderful value and we will recommend it to all our friends. Lynne and Michael Braverman, San Francisco

    • My son and I had a wonderful stay in the Trastevere apartment! Romula and Claudio were very friendly and helpful and gave us many details of how best to enjoy the area. The location is excellent with most areas in walking distance although the bus service is very close, easy to use and convenient. My son is a student at John Cabot University and this is a wonderful place for visiting family to stay since it is only a 10 minute walk to the college. There are more dining options than we could even take advantage of, all withinin a short walk. Even with the active nightlife, the apartment is quiet, safe and very nicely furnished. A flat screen TV with cable, excellent A/C and WiFi make the apartment very convenient and comfortable. We plan to stay here again on our next visit to Rome. Thank you Romula and Claudio!!

    • This apartment was excellent value. The location is fantastic. I have visited Rome many times and always wanted to stay in Trastevere. It absolutely lived up to my expectations. The apartment is on a very traditional "vicolo" and is quiet. It is really comfortable and clean. Definately a wonderful place to make your base while in Rome. Romula was very hospitable and checking in on us midway through our stay to be sure that we had what we needed. Without a doubt, I would love to stay here next time i am in Rome.

    • My husband, teen daughter and I were here during the 2nd week of July, we had a wonderful time. The suite was very, very clean and nicely decorated! There were bathrobes, a very nice touch and the owner went out of her way for our comfort. The area had a local flair, with very nice neighbors. It was close to the tourist office, outdoor vendors on the Tiber River, a nice restaurant on the corner and tons of great gelato right out the door. My husband would have liked it better if it was just the two of us as the place was very cozy with three people. If you want something away from the hustle and bustle of the City Center this is it!

    • Jon and I loved the apartment in Trastevere! Romula and Claudio were excellent hosts. After a series of mishaps that caused us to get lost in Naples and be late in arriving in Rome, Romula's son was kind enough to let us into the apartment. When we finally met Romula and Claudio, they could not have been more helpful to us...the restaurants they recommended were great and the other places they pointed out in the neighborhood (including a laundromat and cafe) were helpful during our stay. The neighborhood that the apartment is in is quite happening and it felt like we were in real Rome. There are many restaurants, cafes, and gelaterias at your fingertips. It is close to a bus stop, although we mostly walked everywhere during our stay. The apartment was perfect for the two of us. We ate breakfast and made coffee each morning (after Claudio showed me how to work the coffee pot!). Rome was our favorite stop along our trip and we hope to make it back some day! Thank you again Romula! We could not have asked for more!

      Homeowner Response:
Thanks for coming! Hope to see you again in Rome 1

    • Our stay at the Suite in Trastevere was one of our favorite places we have visited in all our travels throughout the world. Romula and Claudio helped immensely in making sense of the many travel options in Italy as well as help navigate the mass confusion that Rome can oftentimes be. They went out of their way to help with room options in Florence and Sorrento, which again was invaluable in making our trip that much smoother. The apartment was great. It was well furnished and in a very central location. All within walking distance of the major attractions. Their level of kindness and assistance went a long way in making our entire vacation throughout Italy a wonderful experience. We traveled with our 13 year old son and the apartment was perfect for the three of us. The area is very safe and once we learned the bus system and Urban train all went well. We were only there for three days and I would recommend at least five to see all the sights. Thanks again Romula and Claudio and we hope to see you again someday soon. Bruce, Linda, and Rob
