This is an ideal holiday home to experience an unforgetable stay in the eternal city!
The area surrounding the apartment:
The luxury suite apartment is situated in the heart of Trastevere, the picturesque medieval area located on the west bank of the Tiber. Part of the historical centre of Rome, Trastevere is the perfect place to glimpse a bit of the old world while still enjoying the lifestyle of today's Romans. From the cobblestone streets to the overhanging laundry lines, your senses will be pleasantly awakened with every step you take in this bohemian neighborhood.
Equidistant from the Coliseum and the Vatican, Trastevere is the ideal place to discover the secrets of Rome on foot. Saint Peter's and the Vatican are about twenty minutes away and upon crossing the Tiber you get to Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum, and many other sights, in no time at all (15 to 30 minutes walks). If you want to take public transportation, the area is extremely well served by the electric buses of Rome.
A few blocks from the apartment, you can find the outdoor market of Piazza San Cosimato, where tented stalls display a bountiful array of tantalizing fruits and vegetables, or the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, the most popular gathering place in the area. In this square you will find the church Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Rome and very much worth a visit.
The neighborhood becomes very lively at night as it is full of quality restaurants and pizzerias, where you can taste great Italian food at reasonable prices.
The apartment:
This charming apartment is located on the ground floor of a 16th Century building and enjoys a fully private entrance.
The luxury suite has just come out of a full renovation and represents a quintessential Trastevere apartment. The rustic tile floor and the original ceiling beams bring a delightful sense of Roman history, harmoniously matched by the contemporary colors and elegant furnishings. Guests will feel completely at ease from the moment they walk in, thanks to the captivating and warm atmosphere.
The living-dining area of this apartment is welcoming and invites guests to relax after trekking around Rome historical centre. In this area you can find a double leather sofa bed suitable for the 3rd guest, one single leather sofa, a coffee table and a plasma TV. The open kitchen is fully equipped with everything guests may need for daily living and it features a countertop and two stools to enjoy a breakfast or a intimate dinner.
The bedroom features a comfortable and stylish handmade iron double bed. Ample clothes storage is provided by the fitted cupboard placed in the small hallway. The beautiful en-suite bathroom comes with a shower cabinet with hydro-massage system to enhance your moments of relaxation. Bed linens, terry robes and clean towels are all provided.
The apartment also has central air conditioning/heating, satellite TV and wireless internet to ensure the guests a maximum level of comfort.

The apartment listing was very accurate and I agree with the positive reactions of most reviewers: clean, good location, quiet, good bed, good wi-fi, good value. The neighborhood has much to offer and location allowed us to walk to most places of interest. Near public transportation. Romula was exceptionally helpful and this made getting started in Rome quicker and easier.

My husband and I spent a week in Romula's charming apartment right after the first of the year. It was wonderful. The neighborhood was fabulous with delicious/inexpensive restaurants and nice little shops. It was very real even with all of us tourists! And, once we closed the door to our little apartment, it was completely quiet. We felt at home from the moment we landed. Romula arranged for us to be picked up at the airport (at the same price as a regular taxi) and met us upon our arrival to show us everything and to take us grocery shopping! Who else would do that? The only knock(s)? My hubby found the apartment a bit of a tight fit. I on the other hand, found everything to be top quality. He couldn't get CNN to work. I don't "do" TV and found the WiFi for my computer to be excellent. So, you see... I'd go back in a minute!

two thumbs up ....this apartment was exactly as described on the vrbo website. romula and claudio were there when we arrived and were extremely informative as to the area, public transportation as well as restaurants. the location is absolutely ideal as we were able to walk to everything. we were there over xmas and there was even a tree in the apartment. the place was extremely clean, well maintained, and had everything one needed to have a comfortable and cozy "nest" for a home away from home. i would highly recommedt this to any of my family or friends for a wonderful rome experience.

When I travel I like to find an accommodation that is reasonably priced, and also is clean and fresh, comfortable, and in a convenient location. This Trastevere apartment gets high points in all areas that are on my most important list, plus a few others. The owners are super helpful. This apartment is on the ground level. None of those super steep uneven stairways to navigate with your luggage. Close to the Vatican.

As I sat at my computer in the US, looking at vrbo.com, I wondered if choosing an apt in Rome online would really work. I even sent Romula an email the day before leaving just to make sure everything was still OK. Imagine my relief and excitement when the driver knew exactly where we were going, when Romula and Claudio met us upon our arrival, and when we found that the apt was just as described. The renovations made the apt very comfortable, esp the new shower, kitchen and wi-fi. The location was perfect - in a secluded part of an old neighborhood within walking distance of most sights. Bus and tram were a block away - we bought a Roma pass which allowed us to move around easily on the bus. There is a very helpful information kiosk a block away. Small bars and shops that sell carry-out food and fresh bread are all over. It shows that Romula and Claudio are proud of their apt. They take good care of it and they want you to be able to do the same. Their personal touch and availability made a big difference in our comfort level. Favorite restaurants were Dar Sor Olimpio al Drago for a special night out and La Frachetta for great pasta/casual dining. This apt was a gem. Thank you Romula and Claudio.
Owner response:It was a pleasure to meet you! thanks for coming .

We stopped here in December and thought it was a great place. The apartment is really nice with everything you need and was able to relax more than in a hotel. The location was great. In a busy area with shops an restaurants and was about a 20 minute walk from the coleseum and 30 to the Vatican. There was also plenty of transport with a minutes walk.. Romula was really nice and very helpful with advice Would highly recomend this apartment and would use again of i went back..

We visited Rome in Novemer 2011 for our Honeymoon. Since booking the apartment a year ago Romula has always been very helpful. We were collected from the airport by a lovely man who pointed out some monuments along the way. Romula was waiting for us with lots of facts, guidance and provided us with a map and directions to the local supermarket. The apartment was even better than the pictures, and very clean. There was plenty of hot water, and after all the walking we did we slept like babies. Very good location and everything is within walking distance. Very sad to leave, but were waved off by Romula and her husband and had a very nice lift arranged to take us back to the Hotel.
Owner response:I was so happy to host honeymooners and I wish you much happiness !!!!

This apartment is in a great location in Trastevere. It's really close to the main street and the main piazza (Santa Maria). There are tons of restaurants and shops nearby and the scenery is very picturesque. Old buildings, cobblestone streets, street vendors, all add to the location. We were able to check into the apartment a little early which was very convenient. Romula told us about all of the things we would need to know, grocery store, public transportation, restaurants, pick pockets, etc. And we had a quick cappucino with Romula while our apartment was being cleaned, how nice! I would absolutely stay in this apartment the next time I come back to Rome and would recommend it to anyone.
Owner response:Thanks for your recommendations, hope to see you again !

I cannot even describe how perfect this little apartment was for me. The entrance was just the beginning. Throughout my one week stay I saw many people taking pictures of my little Lane and it made me happy to walk past them with key in hand, thinking, yes I live here, for a week anyway. Since I was traveling alone, I was very concerned about dining out. I just don't like it, so after Romula and Claudio told me where to shop, I was able to prepare meals at the apartment using the freshest local ingredients. They also told me where to get wine at a decent price. The apartment had everything a person could possibly want and I felt like I was visiting relatives. I walked to every single site in Rome. I just loved walking to Trastevere. I got lost once and took two hours in the rain to get home, but walking into that apartment, shedding my wet clothes, and fixing a warm dinner and checking my email on the free WiFi was perfect. I cannot wait to return and I will plan my trip around the availability of this apartment. It was perfect in every way.
Owner response:Thanks Toni for your kind words, I hope to see you again in Rome!
