Convenient and quaint! Tabby, oyster shell, beach house cottage. Newer, three-bedroom, two full bath cottage professionally decorated by Generoso Interiors with large family room/great room with wood-burning fireplace. Full-Size gourmet kitchen with all appliances, dishes, and cooking utensils provided. Eat-in kitchen/dinette eats 6-8 and pub table eats an additional 4 , patio porch with 6-10 seat outdoor dining, and full laundry facilities.
Family room has queen-sized sleeper sofa and large color television/VCR/DVD/CD. Local phone, house desk-top computer work station with printer and fax machine, and WIRE/WIRELESS HIGH SPEED DSL LINE. DISH TV provided with FL local stations. Large double lot is fenced for extra privacy and pet owners.
Bedrooms - large master suite with king-sized bed, twin daybed, private bath, garden tub, shower, TV/VCR/DVD, and vanity area. Second bedroom with queen-sized bed, full size infant crib and ample closet space. Third bedroom equipped with queen-sized bed and a toy box for visiting little ones. We have all you need for infants and toddlers. High chair, baby swing, pack-n-play and crib.
Easy, short (less than 1/2 mile) and fast walk to King and Prince Resort and adjoining public beach access. Walk to Crabdaddy's for the best shrimp grits in the nation or put the grand kids in the bike trailer and bike down Arnold Street less than four blocks to the public beach access. Located just off the corner of Demere and Mallery, Demere Park is located just outside your front door with baseball, soccer, basketball fields, and playground for the children. NEW 2010 gas Bar-B-que grill, hot/cold outdoor shower and owners would gladly loan you a pair of their bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas etc.
Basic starter linens are provided all we ask is that you please bring your own beach towels. Ladd Lighthouse is a NON-SMOKING cottage. Please let the owner know if you will require more than two vehicles per stay. Cottage can accomodate no more than 6-8 persons comfortably (in beds) for sleeping arrangements.
Please let the owner know if you would like to bring a Motorcycle, Boat, Camper, RV or Atv type vehicle so she can be neighborly and inform the neighbors.
Ladd Lighthouse is minutes (less than one mile) to the village lighthouse, pier and shopping areas. You will not find a more family friendly or PET friendly place at these rates on south SSI.

We are the Ladd Family. Bart, Christina, Liberty and Lucy Jo. This is our beach house and we would love you to come see us. We live on SSI full time now and will provide you with the best guest services around. Let us help you plan the perfect family vacation, couples retreat, snow bird escape or wedding party logistics.
Why the Owner Chose King and Prince
Walking distance to beach, village pier and lighthouse. Borders a popular county park. Incredibly family friendly island. Dogs rule here as well. Like taking a step back in time to the early 60's, 70's. We live on SSI full time with our two little girls and we pride ourselves on ole fashioned attention to guest services. Our many return guests since 2003 have become like family! We will go out of our way to make your visit one you will want to return to each year. You will not need a car with us as you can walk to beach and village or borrow our bikes and enjoy the islands vast bike trails.

This property was exactly as described- We enjoyed the roomy floorplan along with well equipped kitchen. Convenient to both the village and the beach. Owners were very accomodating and easy to work with. A very homey home! ps- our dog was happy to join us too!

We loved our month here. The floor plan is excellent; the location is great; close to beach and downtown. Owners were very responsive to our needs. It is truly pet friendly with fenced yard and nearby park. I would definitely recomment this cottage and love to stay there again.

This is a wonderful house..great layout..much larger and spacious than pictures indicate. The owner provides everything you need..house immaculate. We have two dogs..fenced yard perfect. Close to the beach. It does not get better than this for the money!

Our stay was 1/23/2010 for two weeks. We had a wonderful stay in Ladd's Lighthouse! Very comfortable, open living room with three cozy couches. Kitchen was very well equipped which made it easy to just "move in." The fenced-in large side yard was wonderful for our Black Lab, and she thoroughly enjoyed our daily walks to the beach. This cottage has so many nice extra touches: home-like touches throughout, outside hose to wash off the dog after the beach, (we didn't use the outside shower in January which would be terrific too), fast DSL, DVD, TVs, etc. Owners were personally very welcoming and great to meet. Highly recommend staying in this great location - we walked everywhere easily. Day trips were easy off island too. Next year we're already planning on returning for a full month!

The Ladd Lighthouse was the perfect beach house for my family's vacation to St. Simon's! We all had a truly relaxing, stress-free week (including our dog Moses) thanks to the Ladd's lovely home. The fact that we could bring our very loved dog and that the Ladds thoughtfully provide everything guests could need, sets this place apart from any other we've stayed in. This is a great place to vacation and the "Ladd's Lighthouse" home is a great place to stay. This home is centrally located on the island, with a beautiful beach, a charming village, a pier to fish or crab from, and many nice restaurants all within a short distance. The home itself is clean and nice and larger than we thought, with three good size bedrooms, two nice baths, and an open and comfortable floor plan. We would definitely stay here again.

As Canadian snowbirds we absolutely love the Ladd Lighthouse. It is truly a home away from home, central to everything in beautiful St. Simons Island, and close to a number of great golg courses. We are sorry for the delay in signing your guestbook. Our grandaugther's wedding weekend this past October was made even more fabulous by your charming home. It is perfect for guests coming down for a wedding on the island, especially if held at The King & Prince. You can walk to the hotel and some of the islands best resturants. Of course having the beach and village in walking distance kept these Senior Mall walkers active as well. Thanks again for going the extra mile to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We are big St. Simons fans. Vacation in the summer every year with our two boys 8 and 3 years old. This year we decided to come down for a fall weekend and instead of staying in some of the older homes in East Beach we decided to try the Lighthouse cause it was brand new. We loved it! Sooooo close to beach. You really can walk it and the boys loved it that the baseball and soccer park was right next door. We'll be back this summer for sure.

As Yankee snowbirds we always venture down to the GA coast each fall to scope out a home to escape the Boston winter. We were quite surprised when we checked our favorite rental website and saw the Ladd Lighthouse as a new listing was also a new home. Very comfortable little house very close to everything we needed. We were only disappointed when we heard it was already rented for November and December. We will definitely call again next year.
