This is our second time staying at Casa Luna Turquesa and definitely not our last. The studio suite upstairs is just perfect with a king bed, lots of towels, a/c, big shower, fridge, two burners, coffee maker, toaster, bottled water, private deck facing the ocean, another deck facing the street, shared washer and dryer, maid service once a week, beautiful pool on the lower deck, deck on roof for watching sunsets, best beach for beachcombing, lots of seating at the pool and a great covered palapa out of the wind and sun. The owners are always making sure everything is clean and painted.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our fourth stay at Luna was as great as the prior three!!!! Insofar as the physical accomodation is concerned it was even better....the tasteful renovations coupled with the maturing of the Casa are wonderful. As always the unit was clean and tidy with good linens and towels. Our particular suite had new appliances (including a gas range) plus all the small appliances one needs. A major plus for this particular casa is the ability to enjoy both the Carribean and Western exposures. Sitting poolside: from the deck of one of the two second floor suites: or, from the expansive roof deck one has a great view of the beach and Carribean Ocean. The roof deck also provides a view of Cancuun ........the sunrises and sunsets from its vantage point are glorious. If it is early in your visit and the sun is getting to you then refuge can be found in the streetside courtyard or from the streetside second floor balcony. Our experience has been that any problems or repairs encountered are quickly remedied by the owner/manager.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had been to Isla Mujeres three times prior and had just stayed in the downtown area. This trip we wanted to get out of Downtown and rented the entire house for our group. The house was perfect for our group. The two upstairs studios gave two couples their privacy while still allowed us all to have a place to gather in the main portion of the house. Being December the pool was to cold to spend much time in. If my wife and I were to come to visit alone we would not hesitate to rent one of the upstairs studios. The property is well taken care of and Drew (property manager) was available with any questions or problems. The owners were staying next door and were very helpful with questions we had. Taxi cabs (20 to 40 pesos per cab) are available just out the front door as is the bus (4 pesos per person) which comes by every 30 minutes or so on it's way downtown, which was just as quick as a cab. We ended up taking the bus to town and a cab home, which was very convenient and saved money (for Soggy Peso and Miguel's). Most cab drivers knew where it was located. There is a small store a block away for basics and it is a short walk to Mango Cafe for breakfast. The rooms were very nice and clean. The WIFI came in handy for members of our group. The most positive aspect of staying at Luna Turquesa for us was the total relaxation we immediately felt being out of the hustle of downtown. This is a wonderful property and location and we would highly recommend it for the whole house or just a studio apartment.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Hi Jim, So happy to hear that you and your firends had a great holiday and enjoyed staying at Casa Luna Turquesa. We really appreciate the great review. Thanks!

This was our first stay at Casa Luna Turquesa. We stayed in the main part of the house (but Drew was kind enough to show us the upstairs units and they too looked wonderful.) The house was well maintained and met all of our needs and expectations. Marcela met us there, she's delightful! Though we have been to Isla over a dozen times she provided us with some good info. (by all means secure your golf cart per her suggestion!) Drew stopped by a few times to make sure all was o.k. This was our first time staying outside of Playa Norte/town and we were wondering if we'd miss being able to walk everywhere, but NOPE...we loved Casa Luna Turquesa so much we just stayed at the house...enjoyed the pool, the view and took walks on the beach most of our stay on the island.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just returned from another wonderful stay at Casa Luna Turquesa! As always, we enjoyed relaxing and sleeping to the sound of the crashing waves, waking up with the sunrises, hunting seaglass on the beach, and viewing the gorgeous sunsets from the front porch and rooftop! We spent most of our afternoons lounging by the pool staying cool away from summer heat. The upper porch on the front of the house is our favorite spot on the island for people-watching. There are several mini-marts just to the south of the house for stocking up on groceries and snacks, a wonderful restaurant just a few doors away (Da Louisa), and another great place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Mango, a short walk through the colonias. We usually walk to and from El Centro, but taxis are always easily available at the curb in front of the house. Having stayed in both upper studios and the downstairs house, we've always been impressed with the consistently clean beautiful comfortable decor. We got a nice surprise this visit! We've been away from Seattle for five years, but we were back home again when we noticed the local Seattle stations on your television! Drew, as always, checked daily to see if we needed anything, Thanks again for another great stay at Luna Turquesa. Wish we could live here!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were 3 couples who rented the whole house for the week. We were met at the house by Marcela who was very nice. She also stopped by a couple of times during the week to see if we needed anything. The house is nice, the pool is great & a nice size compared to other real small ones at most of the individually owned homes along the ocean. Liked the location since we were centrally located to many things. We did rent & keep golf carts for our entire stay so we could come & go as we pleased. Personally, I think it is too far a walk in the heat to downtown (Centro). We were in reasonable walking distance to the colonias where we had breakfast at Mango Cafe twice & dinner at Monchis one night. This home is on a fairly larger lot than most we saw which afforded more privacy, although it is on a busy & somewhat noisy street. My biggest complaint would be that the upstairs studios are not very cool. It seems the air conditioning isn't large enough for the space and the bathrooms have no ventilation. Our first few days & nights were not very comfortable. We were in contact with Drew who sees to the maintenance at the home & he was always prompt & courteous. After a few days he was able to get someone out to add freon to the unit & this helped a bit. Several of the wood railings on the house were rotten & were being replaced during our stay. Luckily we didn't stay at the house much during the day so it wasn't too much of an intrusion. We were never able to get the wi-fi to work with the laptop we brought. Drew tried helping, but still no luck. That was a bit disappointing. Also, the cable TV in the main living area had Canandian satellite, so we couldn't get any local weather information. Not sure if that would have helped us anyway since we don't understand Spanish. The upstairs TVs don't have satellite & the DVD player in our room never worked. We tried several different DVDs provided in the house & none of them worked. My husband just had to survive the week without TV! This was our first time to stay on Isla & I really enjoyed it. Loved trying out different restaurants, all of which were delicious! Gorgeous beaches & water. Didn't want to leave!! All in all we had a nice stay & would consider staying at Casa Luna Turquessa again.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are happy that you enjoyed your first trip to Isla as we think it is such a wonderful little Island! We do try and keep our home as perfect as possible and were concerned about some of the points you mentioned. We will check out the DVD player and the WiFi problem We did just email our renter that is in a suite now and asked if she was having difficulty getting on the internet and she has emailed back saying that she was having no problems at all. We will look at perhaps moving the router when we get back to the Island. As for the ventilation in the bathrooms of the suites the circular windows by the showers are offset with a screen between them that is always open and of course we have ceiling fans in each bathroom which should provide adequate ventilation. As for the air conditioner we are contacting our property manager to look into this as we just installed new units in the whole house a few months ago. Hope this addresses some of your concerns and once again we are glad you enjoyed your vacation at Casa Luna Turquesa.

Casa Luna Turquesa was absolutely fabulous. After a long day of travel, we arrived hot and tired, but were immediately rejuvinated when we stepped into Casa Luna Turquesa. The incredible views from the main room and the bedrooms were fabulous: blue/green ocean, sparkling pool with waterfall and lovely, large patio. The welcoming ice cold beer was excellent! We had plenty of fresh water, we had coffee and breakfast every day on our patio. I was happy to have wi-fi, so I could keep up with home. Every morning, we awakened to view the pink and purple sunrises while laying in bed. Then a walk on the beach to collect beautiful sea glass and shells. The pool was crystal clear and refreshing. Every evening, it was happy hour on the roof, with a nice glass of wine and stunning sunsets. A short walk to town for dinner, shopping, and getting supplies at the grocery was always pleasant. The owners couldn't have been more solicitous, but never intrusive. I'm thinking of margaritas right now! Definitely, a fabulous vacation home!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

It just keeps getting better and better - this was our 6th visit to Isla Mujeres, and our 6th vacation at Casa Luna. The first time we stayed there in 2005, Isla was still a sleepy little island - now it is a thriving community with fabulous restaurants, and lots to do. Casa Luna is still very pretty and well maintained with the addition of wi-fi and a flat screen TV in recent years, but we were too busy exploring our favourite restaurants, and beach bars to worry about watching TV. Next year we plan to book a week in the summer so that we can experience swimming with the Whale Sharks, or maybe if we are very very lucky, and very quiet, see a Sea Turtle laying her eggs late in the night.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our stay at Casa Luna Turquesa was fantastic. It is located at a very convenient mid-point on the island which makes traveling (with a cart or scooter) very convenient to either side of the island. The amenities are as advertised and the view of the ocean while sitting by the pool is about all you really need. The beach isn't swimmable because it's rocky and the surf is too strong but there is plenty of interesting beach combing and iguana watching to do instead. The people who helped manage the property were very helpful and attended to every need promptly. I think this is a perfect house for a group of eight. Kid friendly as well.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Glad you had a good time and happy to hear you enjoyed our house. Thanks so much for the positive review.

We stayed at Casa Luna Turquesa in January and were very pleased with the accommodations. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed including a few cold beer in the fridge when we arrived after a long day of travel. What nice touch! The property was lovely and well tended with lots of room for everyone to share or have their own private space. Enjoyed the pool and walking on the beach collecting shells and exploring the area. There is easy access to downtown by bus or taxi. The cab drivers all know where Casa Luna Turquesa on Airport Road is which helped with our limited Spanish. We had our laptop and wifi worked great as we were booking some excursions off Island during our stay. Felt really comfortable, loved Isla and Luna Turquesa - all in all couldn't ask for more.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for your great review of our property! Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Casa Luna Turquesa. Hope to see you back on the Island soon.
