Small charming 1907 building perfectly located in the tiny rue d’olivet, between Montparnasse with a number of cinemas and theaters, the Invalides, the Champs de Mars leading to the Eiffel tower, The Orsay Museum and St Germain des Pres. Very near also are the UNESCO and the Rodin Museum with its charming gardens.
This area is celebrated for its elegant streets featuring stylish fashion shops, antique shops, art galleries, sophisticated and traditional restaurants and cafes. Less than 200 yards away from the building door, runs the rue de Sevres with post office, banks, specialty food shops and supermarkets. 150 yards away is a yoga school at 50 rue Vaneau. About 7 minutes away is the department store “Bon Marche” and its famous “Grande Epicerie”.
Nearby are many government buildings and consequently the police guarding them make this area probably the safest in Paris
A few steps away are the Seine, many significant monuments and points of interest as well as many universities: Sorbonne, Assas, Ecole de Medecine, Science-po and so on.

This 72m² (approx. 790 sq. ft.) 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathroom apartment, is located on the first (second in the USA) floor of a small building harboring only 7 apartments. The building entrance door is protected by two doors, one with a coded intercom the other with a coded security system. A door lady lives on the premises but works away part-time.
The second hall accesses, on the right, the elevator and the main stair case, on the left the service staircase as well as the laundry room, the garbage room and the basement.
The apartment has “Versailles” style hard-wood floors, oriental rugs, stucco cornices and wood moldings. Original oil paintings, drawings and water colors and decorative fire-places with antique gold framed mirrors decorate the walls. Sheets, towels, placemats, napkins and all kinds of tableware are provided. Mattresses are of good quality and brand new.
The entrance door opens into a small hall, with a vintage French style glass chandelier, from where one can access: on the right hand side, the door of a separate toilet with its wash-basin, a Venetian mirror and a security glass wall, in front a door to a hallway linking the other rooms, on the left two arcades open onto the double living room.
The 30m² (approx. 330 sq. ft.) double living room has two windows equipped with exterior shutters overlooking the street -northern exposure but good light. It is furnished with a sofa that can convert into a double-bed, 2“bergeres” and a canape Louis XV style, a coffee table, a dining round table –that can be extended to seat 8- with 6 chairs, a sideboard and a cupboard. It is equipped with a TV and a stereo. It has a decorative fire-place with an antique gold framed mirror and a vintage French style glass chandelier.
The 14m² (approx. 155 sq. ft.) first bedroom is accessible from the hallway (as well as from the living room). It has a window with iron exterior shutters overlooking the street. It is furnished with a king size bed (180 x 200) which can be separated to use as two single beds, (the mattresses have two zippers linking them so it feels at one single mattress) two bedside tables each with a lamp, a large wardrobe, a desk and a chair. It has a decorative fire-place with an antique gold framed mirror.
The 11m² (approx. 120 sq. ft.) second bedroom is also accessible from the hallway; it has a window with the same view and exposure as the two other rooms. It has a decorative fire-place. The walls are lined with fabric; it is furnished with an iron bed of good length (140 X 200), two bedside tables with lamps, a commode, a small console with a Venetian mirror, computer desk and a chair.
The separate kitchen is accessed from the hallway, first door near the hall, and is equipped with 4 gas burners, a refrigerator, a freezer, microwave, a dishwasher, an oven, a coffee maker, a toaster and a kettle. It has a window.
The hallway has many closets.
There are two separate tiled bathrooms although one is very small. Each has a small window. The larger one has a bathtub with shower and a bathroom cabinet with a washbasin. The smallest one has a shower and a small washbasin. They are separated by security non-see-through glass walls.
One vacuum cleaner, Iron and ironing board and hair dryer. Plenty of hot water by two separate electric hot water tanks. Central Heating collective within the building. Small private storage room of 2.5 M2 (27 sq.ft) in the basement.

The door lady can be available for cleaning ironing, doing the laundry or eventually some cooking/serving; these extra services to be discussed with her and paid to her directly.
A parking space in the across-the-street building is possibly available for 180 Euros per month.

About the owner: I am a Parisian but I live in China where I am involved in philanthropy. The apt could sleep 6 persons but I do not wish more than 3 occupants with occasional friends visiting them for short periods. After total refection, this apt. was first rented in summer 2010. It has been occupied all the time since but will probably be available in fall 2016. Apart from French, I am totally fluent in English and Spanish, I also speak conversational Mandarin and can be contacted by phone or email. When I am in China my lawyer is in charge.
