  Everything about our apartment stay was terrific! The apartment itself is comfortable and spacious, with two bedrooms, big enough to sleep 5 comfortably; a nice full bathroom with rain shower; open-plan kitchen, eating area, living room and sitting area; and large balcony shaded with an umbrella. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and stocked with paper goods and bottled drinking water, plus plenty of bed and bath linens. The neighborhood is vibrant and exciting, and very hilly! Think San Francisco ... and be prepared for some strenuous uphill walking. The apartment is about a 5-10 minute (uphill) walk to Istiklal Caddesi and about a 5-10 minute (downhill) walk to the Tophane streetcar station, where there is a nice little grocery store, DIa, where all the necessities can be found. Things we especially loved in the apartment: the panini-style bread toaster; French press coffee maker and electric kettle; dishwasher, wonderful balcony; and comfortable beds. There are lots of wonderful sit-down restaurants within a few minutes walk, also lots of "street food" quick shops, for kebabs, sausages, etc.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

  We had a really outstanding experience with this apartment and it has totally converted my wife to the VRBO approach. Superb location near the Tophane tram stop and the main pedestrian shopping/strolling/eating street (Istikal Caddesi) but quiet and non-touristic with parents taking their kids to school in the mornings. Great bakery and many small grocery stores around the corner or along the street. The apartment itself is immaculate, with clean and modern fittings and decor. It feels spacious - open plan living/dining/kitchen area and balcony upstairs, bedrooms downstairs. We were met on check-in and check-out by Monica who was very friendly and helpful. Tarkan and Julia were also very responsive by e-mail. Be aware that in addition to the stairs, the walk to the tram stop and Istikal Caddesi main street are quite steep and the pavements very minimal and uneven. However, there is also a taxi station (Galata Taksi) 50 m from the door. Highly recommended.

  Thoughtfully restored apartment,with attention to quality and craftmanship. So much thought had gone into making sure there was washing up liquid, washing powder, dish cloths... all those little touches that make a difference when you are only staying for a few days. Everything to make the stay comfortable was thought of. Loads of helpful guide books, plus personal recommendations, reflect the owners' passion for Istanbul and their wish to share it with others. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come again. Best wishes for the future.

  Charmfull, and very clean, apartment with a small terass, enough for five, was our home for four intensive days in Istanbul. Situated in a calm environment, still close to Istiklal Caddesi and not far from the fast going tram to the other side of Galata bridge.

  Firuz Place exceeded all our expectations. It's location meant we were able to make the most of our 4 night stay - spending the days sightseeing on the other side of the Golden Horn, but coming back to Beyoglu in the evenings for the restaurants and bars (so many to choose from). As other reviews say - Firuz is within easy walking distance for the tram (very efficient and cheap) or a walk over Galata bridge (I recommend at least having a drink under the bridge - a hidden world) and plentiful places to eat and drink. The apartment itself is very clean and has been decorated simply and stylishly. The beds are sooo comfortable, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need and the shower is fab. The little balcony is perfect for breakfast (which can be bought from the many shops a few minutes away). The neighbourhood felt very safe and it was lovely staying in a residential street rather than the main tourist areas. Communication with the owners was excellent and all emails were answered really quickly. Ozzy, who met us at the apartment at the start and end of our trip, was very helpful. I recommend booking transport to and from the airport as this was hassle free (apart from our driver getting booked for speeding on the way back to the airport!). All in all Firuz Place! made a very comfortable base to make the most of our short stay in Istanbul.

  Husband and I were overjoyed to see this apt that our friend found for our week-long stay. It was immaculate, tasteful, and most comfortable, with lovely linens, sweet little kitchen and balcony, nice TV and living areas--a wonderful oasis in the city. The owners obviously know what people want, and they were instantly responsive and helpful when we had a question. It's in a safe, quiet, friendly neighborhood, but a 5-min walk from Istiklal, the most happening street in Istanbul! Also very easy walk to the tram that takes you to all the tourist destinations, and 45 seconds from a taxi stand. You can walk out to the corner and find great little kabob places, bakeries, produce stands, groceries and coffee shops. There are several great antique shops just up the street. Or walk up to Istiklal for the best people-watching, and more shopping and dining than you could explore in a year. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip!!

  The getting there was a bit crazy because we tried to take a short cut from Taksim. Take Istikal St! The house is simply decorated but elegant with great beds and towels and linen. Everything we needed was there and the neighborhood is wonderful. You can get around easily to the main tourist areas but not be right in the midle of it. If I have any doubts at all, it would be that the price was a bit high, for Istanbul, considering the TK to euro/dollar "norm" for everything else. I´d recommend it to4 people without hesitation.   I stayed at firuz!place with 4 other friends, and we had a fantastic time! The apartment is very clean and tastefully decorated. The laundry machine and terrace were definitely bonuses; it was so wonderful to be able to do laundry before heading to our next location, and the terrace provided a wonderful place to enjoy the warm weather. The location was perfect -- in an antique district in Beyoglu, and very close to the action of Istiklal Caddesi, but also quiet on a side street. I was glad we did not stay in Sultanahmet, but could easily get there via the tram nearby to see the sites. Tarkan and his team provided exceptional customer service, answering all of my questions, meeting us at the apartment, and promptly returning the security deposit. I would definitely stay at this property or another one of the Istanbul Place apartments again, and would recommend to others.

  firuz!place was a delightful and characterful base for our one-week stay in Istanbul. Comfortable, clean, bright rooms -- recently renovated kitchen and bathroom are excellent. The little balcony is a nice place to sit, too. Very good location: in a proper neighbourhood, quiet at night, and an easy walk to the tram stop for the very useful T1 tram. Only minor quibble was lack of wardrobe or other clothes hanging space.

  We couldn't have been happier with the accommodations and the service we received from istanbul!place. The booking was easy, using Paypal was convenient, and the owners were quick to respond to our queries. I was nervous about what we might find on arrival, but the reception we received and the flat itself exceeded our expectations. It has been lovingly restored and retains its character while providing all the modern conveniences. The location in Cukurcuma is just how it's described on the website, and there is information in the flat to help you make the most of it. Firuz!place was a great value, less expensive than booking two rooms in a hotel, and our Istanbul experience was richer for having stayed there.
