FOR $300 BUCKS A NIGHT I WANT A BIG STAINLESS FRIDGE AND A MAC DADDY WASHER AND DRYER-so we got it and you will love it.
....and free wifi is a given. Who charges $300 bucks and doesn't give you free wifi....ridiculous.
YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY GOLF CARTS!!!
By the way-I took these pictures and the old TVs aggravated me so I went out and bought new ones.
The first thing you need to know is that we furnished this house as our second home. We didn't put any old furniture or appliances in the house. The furniture is pretty awesome and comfortable.
When you arrive you will find a stainless fridge as nice as the one in our home. We have a a brand new stainless icemaker and the mac daddy front load washer and dryer. Don't you hate when you rent a place and you have to run your towels twice? We don't put our old stuff in the house. We use the house and we don't want to run our towels twice.
You and your family will want to hangout at the house and cook on some nights. So, we have a blender, food processor, handmixer, crock pot, rice cooker, toaster, microwave, george foreman grill, electric griddle and Belgian waffle maker. Oh, and we are from Louisiana so there is a gumbo pot. We like gumbo and you should too. You can usually find roux at the local supermarkets or you can make you own if you are a 'Supercook.' Either way, we have what you need to make cupcakes or spaghetti, etc.; and a brand new outdoor gas grill in February 2012.
We named the house Casa Playa because it was our weekend play house for years. But now, our girls are growing and too active for us to enjoy it often so we painted the inside and decided to let others enjoy it. But we still go to the house as much as we can so we are in touch with the upkeep etc.
Martinique has several different styles of houses and it is difficult to compare apples to apples. We were confused when we tried to set our pricing off of Martiniqiue's pricing. We couldn't figure out whether we had an apple or an orange. So we had to look at our appraisal. And here is what we found:
THE HOUSE IS 2,229 SQUARE FEET AND 2.5 STORIES, and it is the most popular rental model at Martinique; big enough but not too big or expensive.
LET'S START WITH THE 1st FLOOR:
We have comfortable furniture, a 42' LCD TV and a blue ray DVD player in the living room. The dining room has comfortable chairs and the kitchen....well.....if you can't make a gumbo or strawberry waffles in the morning.....it's not our fault. Off the kitchen is the queen bedroom (32' LCD TV/DVD combo) and a full bath. When grandma comes with us she doesn't want to climb Mt. Everest to go to bed so the first floor bedroom works out great. We have a sturdy white plastic chair in the bedroom closet. We use it for an extra chair on the patio, to sit and apply makeup or even to shower sometimes.
THE 2nd FLOOR:
You will find the master king bed (42' LCD TV and DVD player) and the master bath with garden tub, walk-in shower and double sink and vanities on the 2nd floor. Down the hall is the twin bedroom with a 32' LCD TV/DVD combo and a full bath. Both bedrooms open to a balcony with tiled floors.
The bathrooms have hand held showerheads because we like them and we know you do too.
PACK N PLAY-Got a little man about yah high traveling with you? How much stuff can you load into one suburban? We feel your pain. So the pack n play is already there. Just bring you pack n play sheets.
THE CROW'S NEST:
Up one more level, you will find a large bedroom with bunk beds on the top story, or crow's nest as it is called.
Who would be foolish enough to buy 2 golf carts when some people don't have 1? Well we would and we don't even play golf : ). Bring your walkies-talkies....'Casa Playa 1 to Casa Playa 2, you got your ears on? Casa Playa 1 we are at the beach, bring ice chest, over.' Don't judge a man by the size of his golf cart. It's how many that is important and we got 2.
We have 4 bikes in the garage; 2 adult bikes, a junior bike and 20' beginner but no training wheels.
Oh, and we have a shower in the driveway because we don't like sand in the house and we know you don't either.
You probably already know about Martinique but if you don't:
Martinique is an upscale development with a variety of house models and some condos as well. The beach is very private because we are adjacent to the Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge. The beach pool and the mid point pool are pretty awesome. Both have jacuzzis. The beach pool has a kiddie pool and fitness center.
The 4200 acre Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge has many trails for hikers or joggers or just nature lovers.
Ft Morgan is kind of a tucked away jewel but with all the amenties. Very close to Martinique is the Pines grocery store with gas and propane refills.
We are also just a skip from the Beach Club and their public restaurants as well as Kiva Dunes and the restaurant deck overlooking the golf course. There is a Dollar General and gas station on the way out to us and a Tacky Jack's and a mexican restaurant right past us.
By the way-no code words when you call because you are talking to me not the office or some mgt co. who doesn't know about the house. It's me and I was just there putting labels up saying the garbage passes on Monday and Thursday and to call me with problems.
Do you remember when Ebay was still a guy selling his old guitar to make a few bucks? Now it is all store fronts for retail merchants. Well, that is quickly happening to VRBO. But, you are still in early and we have only one house and we really own it. We think we are the only Martinique property that rents just through VRBO. We have no management company. It kind of defeats the purpose of bringing owners together with guests. We really own it and we can really make you a deal.

About the owner: We are a family of 4. We have enjoyed our vacation home over the years but as our girls have gotten older we have not had the time to enjoy the property as much as we used to. We still go as much as we can but we decided to rent it out so others could enjoy it.
Why the Owner Chose Martinique on the Gulf: We bought our property at Martinique because it is such a beautiful, well maintained property. We love Fort Morgan because it is near all the sites and restaurants but out of the way at the same time. Our house backs up to the National Wildlife Refuge for extra privacy.
The Unique Benefits at this House: You will absolutely love Martinique and our house is extra private because it backs up to the National Wildlife Refuge.
