We had a wonderful girls' trip at the Spotted Fawn cabin. It was such a beautiful property and very well maintained. Each bedroom had a king sized bed and it's own full bathroom which was awesome. The screened in porch with the hot tub was very nice. We also made a fire with the firewood provided and enjoyed sitting outside. Our favorite part of the house was the indoor and outdoor sound system with XM that has a port to plug in an iPod/iPhone. There are flat screen TVs in every bedroom too. The kitchen was well appointed to meet your cooking needs. The cabin is somewhat secluded. There is a farm behind it but you probably wouldn't be able to see it when the leaves are on the trees. We liked that we weren't completely secluded. The property is about 10 minutes from Luray. We went to Wisteria Farm and Winery and would recommend it. We went to Artisan Grill for dinner, and the food was average. It was much better the other two times I was there a few years back. It looks like the Mimslyn Inn is the place to go. We'll go there next time. If we decide to come back to Shenandoah for our annual girls' trip we'll definitely be staying at the Spotted Fawn cabin!Did you find this review helpful? Our group of friends (24-30 y/o) rented Spotted Fawn for a weekend escape from the city, and this cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Although not in the middle of the woods or mountains, the cabin is plenty secluded. The attention to detail here is pretty solid, highlighted by the sound system incorporated throughout the cabin. The Tempurpedic mattresses will make you want to stay in bed, they are dangerously comfortable. We had an issue with the hot tub, our calls were returned promptly, and the issue was resolved within a half hour. Our group wanted to relax, hang out, and play games, but I would recommend this to friends/family who want to get away for the weekend and poke around Luray or Shenandoah.Did you find this review helpful? This is the second time that I have stayed at this cabin. The first time was so great I just had to bring a new group of friends back. Its immaculate, the hot tub is great, the sound system and flat screens throughout are state of the art and the mattresses and linens are luxurious. I would recommend this cabin and location to my family and friends. The owners are very nice and responsive. The luray caverns are beautiful.Did you find this review helpful? My wife and I brought our families together for Christmas for the first time this year, and everyone had a wonderful time at the Spotted Fawn. The cabin is surprisingly spacious yet maintains a cozy and welcoming feel. It had everything we could want — a nice wood burning stove for extra warmth and ambience, a great integrated music system with satellite radio (already tuned to a Christmas station, a nice tough), modern kitchen amenities, comfortable beds, and of course the hot tub. The cabin came beautifully decorated for the holiday as well, which went a long way to making us feel welcome when we arrived. The caretakers were extremely friendly and helpful. We had some difficulty getting the hot tub out of standby mode, and there was a problem with one of the video cables connecting the Wii. They were responsive to our concerns and had both problems fixed within a couple of hours, despite it being Christmas eve day! The entire property is lovely, inside and out. There's a nice screened in porch on the back and a great grilling and fire pit setup in the backyard. There's plenty of room for vehicles in the driveway, and a nice front yard as well. Though the cabin isn't in the heart of the woods or on the top of a mountain, it's in a reasonably secluded spot with a few nice little trails nearby. We all enjoyed a relaxing walk together in the snow on Christmas eve. All in all, our experience was fantastic. I'd definitely recommend Spotted Fawn for your next family gathering.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We loved this beautiful cabin and had a great stay. The owner's we awesome and nice. We went there for my wife's 40th birthday for a getaway and she loved it. We walked in to ballon's and champagne and birthday cake and more as Treye the owner decorated for me to surprise my wife. The cabin itself was spotless and so very nice. We can not wait to visit there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

This space as many people already have mentioned is excellent. It's nice that the ownership plans to build more properties like this one and improve the small trails on this large lot. We slept really well and the only noise you could hear is the rain drops and sounds of wild life and the nearby farm animals. Based on the the pics -- you would think this was just a nice updated cabin but once you drive up an see the stained driveway and the newly planted corabells, boxwoods and burning bush in the landscape, really feels like this is more of a home you would live in forever. I found this place on homeaway.com and passed it on to a friend to coordinate the rental. Definitely will be looking to go back soon. My only wish list items are: Baby high chairs Instructions on how the DVD/TV should work with the game system upstairs Wireless Signal extender Ethernet cable outlets, wireless with the satellite can be slow.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I rented this cabin for a long weekend stay with four friends over Labor Day weekend. I cannot say enough good things about the house, the property, and the location. The kitchen and great room are spacious and well appointed (e.g. Wustof knives!). The bedrooms were very comfortable, with a flat screen TV in each room, lots of lighting options, and great attention to detail. The front porch is huge and the back screened-in porch was perfect for morning coffee, group dinners, and using the jacuzzi. And the grill and back patio were more than you could ask for. The cabin is on a private drive, down a quiet gravel road, off of the highway that takes you into Luray. We traveled each day into either Shenandoah National Park or to the many Virginia wineries in the area. Perfect long weekend. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Beautiful house and property. Lots of wonderful touches - comfortable, spacious, nice lighting, sound system, etc. Great kitchen/great room - wonderful for family interaction. Cleaning/housekeeping was slightly subpar when we arrived, but the response to our concerns was fully satisfactory, and I'm guessing future guests will be fully satisfied. Property management was most friendly, courteous, and helpful. We would definitely go back to this location for vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
