Located in the lively and popular Jordaan, this three-bedroom, two-bath apartment offers the perfect Amsterdam experience. Just behind the Noorderkerk (North Church), it is only a five minute walk to the Anne Frank House and just a ten to twenty minute walk to the rest of Amsterdam's major attractions.

The Jordaan is one of the most desirable residential areas in Amsterdam and is popular with locals as well as with tourists. Known for its art galleries, variety of small shops as well as its many cafés, bars, and restaurants, you can always find something to do just outside your front door. On Saturdays you can join the locals and shop at the weekly farmers market located on the street in front of the apartment. Afterwards have a coffee and apple tart at one of the many cafes facing the Noorderkerk. Then you can take a stroll down one of the beautiful canals for which Amsterdam is so justifiably famous. Best of all, because it is a popular residential area, it rarely becomes too noisy at night.

Situated on the first and second floors of an 18th century building, the apartment is light and airy with large windows in every room. The first floor opens up into a large living area, dining area, and large open kitchen. Behind the kitchen is a laundry room with the refrigerator, washing machine and a dryer. The smaller of the two bathrooms is on this floor and has a shower, toilet, and washbasin. The kitchen, laundry room and both bathrooms are tiled with Italian marble.

The beautiful wood spiral staircase is a focal point and takes you up to the second floor where you will find the three bedrooms and the family bath. This staircase is not a tight spiral and by Dutch standards is very generous both in width and steepness. The larger master bedroom has a queen (160x200cm) bed and two chairs that pull out to make single beds. This room can sleep up to four guests. The smallest of the three bedrooms is perhaps the most romantic with its double (140x200cm) iron bed and early 20th century vanity. The medium-size bedroom has 2 single beds (90x200cm each) that can be made up as a king (180x200cm) if requested before your arrival date. This is the room with the up close and personal view of the 17th century bell gable on the house across the street. Quintessential Amsterdam! Also located on this floor is the large family bath with a combination shower/bathtub, double vanity, toilet, and bidet.

This apartment is within easy walking distance of all major tourist attractions and major public transport.

We rented this apartment for 4 days in March 2013. We had 5 adults staying here and 8 other friends gathering in Amsterdam on our way to Africa. The apartment was incredibly spacious by Amsterdam standards and we enjoyed gathering after a long day of site-seeing to compare notes, have a drink and share a meal. The living area is very spacious and we had enough space to invite our other 8 friends over for a group dinner! The beds were very comfortable; the neighborhood was quiet; and the kitchen was well-provisioned. We cooked almost all our meals in the apartment. The full-sized refrigerator and the washer/dryer were a plus. We had no problems with the bathrooms although we only used the shower upstairs. There is WiFi in the apartment and a local telephone which allowed us to keep in contact with our friends. This was one of the best places we have stayed in Amsterdam and enjoyed it immensely. I highly recommend it for a large group or for a family.

My family and I (4 people) rented the apartment in July for a 3 night stay. The apt is located in the heart of the Jordaan district with plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants to choose from. There is a pharmacy and supermarket 2 minutes walk from the apt. It is also walking distance to many Amsterdam attractions and public transportation close by. Now for the the apt itself. Bedrooms and common areas were clean, dusted and adequately furnished. The apt is a duplex with a spiral staircase which is not suitable for small children or anyone with mobility challenges. The kitchen was equipped; however I had to wipe out the refrigerator before putting in my groceries especially after moving a shelf and finding sticky stuff on the shelf supports. The main bathroom is older than it looks in the photos. The shower head needed a good soak in vinegar to remove the calcium build up. The extraction fan had a build up of dust on it and the wall near the extraction fan had mildew in the corner. The knob for the tub stopper was missing and the plastic piece that attaches to the knob was cracked. The second "bathroom" (the reason I rented the apt in the first place!) was a small converted closet. I was told upon arrival that this bathroom should only be used for "short showers". My husband used it the first day and wasn't in the shower but a minute before the drain backed up and threatened to flood the downstairs. We called the manager, who after giving several excuses, called the plumber. The problem was fixed the same day, but I would have thought that if management KNOWS that the shower isn't draining properly that they would FIX the problem when it was first identified and not WAIT until a paying customer reports it. In summary, good location; okay apartment; needs better cleaning and maintenance.

Owner response: Thank you for letting me know about the issues you had during your stay. I'm sorry to hear about the refrigerator and the other, smaller, faults that you found to be troublesome. The previous guests didn't think the fridge was dirty but they also didn't pull out the glass shelf. I only saw the photo but agree, it was groddy and it was good for our cleaners to see the photo so they can do better in the future. In the family bath, I also pointed out the extraction fan and the little spot of mildew. It has all been cleaned. We are replacing the showerhead and the black tub stopper which has apparently gone awol. We cannot fix the built-in tub stopper and it's knob without replacing the entire bath, which is not necessary as the tub functions quite well (as long as there is a stopper). Regarding the small, second bath. It was not built into a closet. A closet-like enclosure was built around it to separate it from the laundry room behind the kitchen. But, it is a standard size shower that you will find in most hotels and in many homes in Amsterdam. While it is definitely not as big as those in the US, and perhaps, in Luxembourg, it is absolutely normal size for most of Europe. And, although longer showers should be taken upstairs in the family bath; this smaller bath should be perfectly functional for a good 15-20 minute shower. The issue is the smalless of the drainpipe for that shower and cannot be FIXED as you put it, without gutting the apartment. When your husband called, there was never a question as to whether or not we would call a plumber to fix it--and it was fixed that afternoon--but I was confused and 'thinking out loud.' I had been told it was fixed the previous week but that was wrong, the plumber was called but was on holiday so it was postponed for a week--without my approval. It won't happen again and I will try to remember that the guest doesn't care about the background details--they just want to know it will be fixed. Lastly, we receive many guests with small children. Ours is one of the few, large, family apartments in Amsterdam that will accept small children. Parents can see the stairs in the photos and still choose to stay with us. Every year, about 25% of our guests are repeat visitors--families, business professionals and mixed groups (couples and singles). They return because the apartment is large, bright, airy, located in a great neghborhood and, usually, spotless. I'm sorry it wasn't that way for you.

My two friends and I delighted everyday in having this apartment for our visit. It was so spacious and bright - made the trip extra special. Everything about the neighborhood was perfect - the cafes, shops, markets and the overall beauty of the architecture and canals. Convenient to all, it made out trip extra special. And, everything was seamless from the moment we arrived and met Franklin. Thank you!!

My 3 friends and I stayed at this great apartment for 5 days and loved it. We each had our own bedroom, we enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful living room, and loved the neighborhood. Lots of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, markets, etc. A real neighborhood, not touristy at all. Susan and Franklin (our greeter) thought of everything to make our stay perfect. It's centrally located, we walked to just about everything, and the Central Station is just a 15-minute walk. We can't wait to return.

Just returned from staying a week here with 3 women friends. The location was wonderful for walking or taking public transportation to all major sites. Centraal Station is only a 15 to 20 minute walk. The Jordaan and surrounding neighborhoods feel safe and secure at all times of day and night. On Saturdays there is a public market on Lindengracht, the street in front of the apartment. Photos accurately reflect the apartment and all furnishings are quality. Owner provides very useful and specific information, and is easily available for contact. Highly recommend this apartment! Only negatives are the steep (common in Amsterdam) flight of stairs to access the apt. and spiral stairs to access bedrooms and main bath, so not good for those with limited mobility.

In March, my son, friend and I stayed in this wonderful apartment for several days. The location is so great, near trams, tons of restaurants, grocery stores nearby, walking distance to all tourist stops. Very spacious living area, well equipped. Lovely neighborhood! Market on Saturdays right outside the door, quaint cafes, coffee shops, pubs on the corner. You will love it. I highly recommend it.
