Fully equipped and beautifully furnished, modern beach home in 'The Rookery' at Litchfield By The Sea [Gated and Private ], which is the premier private resort in Pawleys Island, SC. Our share pool is a 30 second walk from our doorstep.
Our home features all the creature comforts you need to have a perfect vacation. Carolina Dreamin' has all of the upscale features , you would expect, granite countertops ,hardwood floors, California tile floors and has been professionally decorated in a light, airy beach motif. LBTS is a private , gated beach resort which caters to families.
Our home, called 'Carolina Dreamin', is in a community that features seaborne breezes and splendid ocean and lake views.[ Not OCEANFRONT] It is approximately 150 yards from the Ocean {or a 2 1/2 minute walk to the beach}. It has rocking chairs on most of it's porches, deck and lounge chairs on its top deck ,The 'Eagles Nest'.
Our resort community offers 7 free lighted tennis courts , a swimming pool [30 seconds walk], jogging and bike paths, and great fishing and crabbing. Two major grocery stores, a Blockbuster and a number of terrific restaurants are less than a half mile away. In the resort there is Starbucks as well as a great fully equiped Day Spa [ called STOX ].
You are a short walk away to the Health and Fitness Center, The Spa [ fees ] , Starbucks and Webster'sTavern/Restaurant . The walk to the beach is 2 1/2 minutes.
Our home is a NON-smoking home, and, unfortunately, pets are NOT allowed because of severe allergies of the owners. This is extremely important to us , thank you !! Our community is a family-oriented one, that has as its major attraction, a wonderful, warm, wide, 8 mile long, beach, as well as the ambiance of the greater Pawleys Island area and its great restaurants and quaint shops.
You are 25 minutes away from Myrtle Beach and all that MB has to offer. There are 8 terrific, golf courses within 5 miles of our home. Murrells Inlet, 6 miles to the north, is the the Seafood Capital of SC and offers Deep Sea Fishing, parasailing jet ski rentals and over 40 great restaurants. Georgetown, 14 miles south, is the 3rd oldest city in SC and is steeped in Confederate history. Ther are great restaurant and many historic things to see in Georgetown.
Charleston , 'THE JEWEL CITY Of THE SOUTH', is 65 miles to the south.
There are four adult beach cruisers[bikes] which you can use for riding on the beach as well as two bikes for children. There are some fishing rods, boogie boards and sand toys for the children as well.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need from a coffee bean grinder to a blender, three microwaves, two dishwashers, washer/dryer and two refrigerators. There are three pac-n-plays, a high chair,and a booster seat. If more baby 'stuff' is needed the owners will likely be able to round some up.There is a large gas grill and a shrimp/crab/lobster steamer. There is covered parking for two cars and additional parking for 3 more vehicles.
For entertainment there is a Panasonic 50' HD Television system, and six additional TVS,
There are Flat sceen TVs with six DVD players in all bedrooms. There is also a extensive Movie and CD library.There is also a PS2 in the Kids room.
Carolina Dreamin', is part of the oldest Seaside Resort Town {Greator PAWLEYS ISLAND} in America , founded in 1792. Our home is a great home for family, and friends, reunions [ we had a number of 50th anniversry celebrations last year ] . offsite meetings and get-togethers, in any season.
Our beach home is conveniently located 18 miles from Myrtle Beach and 65 miles from Charleston. There are 120 golf courses within 20 miles.There are many many fine restaurants and grocery stores nearby. We will gladly help with recomendations and suggestions.
Linens, bath towels ,made-up beds, and departure maid service are included in weekly rentals Weekend rentals are available in the off season, three night minimum.
There is a required, refundable $300 security/damage deposit required for all rentals.
BED CONFIGURATION: Level 1: 4 bedrooms, all have their own separate bathroom. Three bedrooms have a queen-sized bed and the fourth bedroom has a set of twin beds.
Level 2: 1 king bed with its own private bath and jacuzzi tub. There is also a queen pullout sofa-bed in the Great Room, and an additional full bath, on this level.
Level 3: The 6th bedroom ,also known as the 'Captain's Quarters', or the 'kids room', has 2 bunk beds with double mattresses on the bottom and twins on the top. This bedroom also has its own stereo , 36' TV, & DVD , and a PS 2.
The major attractions are the wide, white sandy beaches - among the best in the world and the southern ambience of this laid back beach community. The ocean temperature is normally in the 70's from the end of April until the middle of October, reaching the mid 80's in the summer.
Great beaches , great golf, a great fully equiped home , great restaurants , to spend quality relaxing time with your family, this is what we offer. Most of our guests are repeat clients who have become our friends.
Our home is a fractional ownership home , that was built by Eileen and Bill Grubb , who still own and use the house with their children and grandchildren.

We spent the weekend at Carolina Dreamin for a wedding and had a wonderful time. House is exactly as described and perfect for a group of couples or a family. Tons of beds for everyone to sleep in and great kitchen/ living area. Bill is great to work with and would recommend this house to anyone looking for a beach getaway.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Just trying to give future guests some ideas about previous guests comments in our guest book. Beautiful and sunny. Go to the beach, pool, golfing, and lounging around; mini-golf, go-karts at Nascar's speed Park, saw a show at the Alabama Theater. Discovered seashells and cool restaurants. Another entry from guests from Georgia who have rented 4 years in a row. Weather was really great; perfect for the beach, pool and for reading. Ate lots of great food that I didn't have to cook -- celebrated Mother's 60thbirthday. Being together under one roof that didn't belong to any of us adn discovering how much fun we could have with each other. Again, another entry from our guest book at the house. We had an amazing 2 week vacation at your house. Our family has been coming to the beach for over 35 yrs in the Carolinas. This house was great for the 6 kids that were with us! The 3rd floor is a great retreat for the kids ranging in age from 8 weeks to 6 years old. There were 9 adults. Comment Text: A good time was had by all! We had a family reunion of elderly cousins. We felt like we were staying in a mansion because the home was beautifully decorated and so spacious. It was perfect for the whole family to sit around together. Grocery stores and restaurants were conveniently near. The ocean was just a short walk away.Litchfield community is beautiful. Despite less than perfect weather, our stay at Carolina Dreamin' was great. The house was well equipped and the owner was hospitable and accomodating. The house allowed space for everyone. It was an easy walk to the beach and pool. We had a great time visiting with family and friends. We loved having bikes to use and tennis so close by. About the owner: We retired to Pawleys Island after living in Saratoga California for 25 years. The major reasons why we live here are the wonderful warm, safe ocean and beach , the southern ambience, and the availability of so many fine restaurants and fun places to visit. We also like having an easy drive to Charleston and being only 25 minutes away to Myrtle Beach and the MB airport. We very much wanted a community that was friendly , intellectually stimulating, has easy access to cultural events and airports . We like not having the traffic jams we had in California and the greater New York area. We have found our little piece of heaven! We lived most of our adult lives in Northern California. We were born , raised , and educated in New York City. We also lived for seven wonderful years in rural Maryland ,in the 1970s. We love the outdoors , activley use the ocean and inlet for crabbing , fishing , shrimping and fishing and long wonderful walks and bike rides. We travel extensively, and spend a great deal of our time on the west coast where our children and 13 grandchildren reside. We love meeting our guests and assisting them in making their vacation as enjoyable as possible. We were in the technology and legal businesses in our prior lives and still have many friends who come and visit us from California. We have 4 grown children, and 13 grandchildren , who spend a great deal of time with us every summer. We try to meet every guest to find out how we can make your vacation experience the very best. Most of our guests have been renting with us for years.
Why the Owner Chose Litchfield Beach:
We have owned property in Litchfield by the Sea for over 18 years .When we decided to retire, we researched all of the USA and decided that the Litchfield / Pawleys Island area is where we wanted to be. We wanted to be as close to a warm Beach / Ocean as possible [ Carolina Dreamin'is a 2 1/2 minute walk or about 150 yards away ] have access to our pool [ 30 seconds away ], have access to, and be within walking distance to free lighted tennis courts .We wanted our home to be in a safe, friendly, family envirement .
Though golf is not impotant to us it is to most of the people who vacation here.We are within 5 minutes of seven great golf courses which is great for our friends , family and guests.There are over 100 more courses within 30 minutes of our home.
Thus we purchased the land, designed a home to accomadate all of our the grandkids [then 4 now 13 ] , choose a quality builder and then added all the amenities that we and our family would like to have.
We needed plenty of bedrooms [6 ] and as many full baths as possible [6 ]. We built our beach home 12 years ago and are as proud and happy with it today as we were when we built it. Our home has ' good bones ' and many happy memories.
After 18 years we are more ever happy with our decision.
We have invited former guests to be co-owners .Now we have two great families that co-own our home with us.They have been co-owners for 10 and 5 years respectively.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our home is very tastefully decorated, has all of the things needed to make a vacation hassle free, in a very family oriented community. Though you are close to everything, you never feel crowded. The people who have rented our home in the past we consider to be caring , classy people who have taken care of our home as if it were their own. We have become friends with a number of them. Most of our guests have been coming the same week for a number of years.
We have made our home a fractional ownership property. If you stay with us, enjoy your stay and would like to discuss the possibility of becoming an owner, we would welcome it.
Most of our guests have rented for multiple years , thus there is a lack of availabilty of prime summer dates. We suggest you book as early as possible to reseve the week you want.
The months of September , October and May are delightful here, the beaches are empty, the ocean is warm and the fish are biting. The golf courses are fun and beckoning . The winters are mild and pleasant. This past year we had fourteen days in the 70's in January 2012.
Riding bikes on the beach , at low tide, is one of the great joys of our strand and we provide the bikes to do just that. Charleston , Brookgreen Gardens , Murrels Inlet , historic Georgetown and of course the Grand Strand are all part of our greater cultural envirement.
