THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS ON DEPARTURE HOUSEKEEPING FEE. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PERFORM NO CLEANING EXCEPT FOR LEAVING THE UNIT IN A NEAT AND ORDERLY FASHION AND DEPOSITING THE TRASH IN THE GARBAGE BIN AT THE FOOT OF THE STAIRS, THE CLEANING CHARGE IS $ 100.00. HOWEVER, SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO CHANGE THE LINENS IN THE BEDROOMS AND LEAVE THE KITCHEN AND ITS APPLIANCES CLEAN AND READY FOR THE NEXT GUESTS, THE HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTURE FEE SHALL BE $50.00. The quote appearing when you inquire does not include the housekeeping charge.

Cancellation is as stated in the Rental Agreement and not what is stated on the VRBO Home Away site or if placed on this unit's site by VRBO HOme Away.

We prefer personal checks; cancellation is not allowed within a period of time 32 days or less before the arrival date. However, if that need should occur, the unit will be placed back into inventory and if rented credit shall be given for the amount of the rental less a $50.00 handling fee.

Tax is 11%.

Owner can put you in touch with two different golf sites which offer reduced rates.

The biggest attraction is the wide, sandy, white beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Golf courses abound and I will be glad to give you information about the available courses and proximity to the unit. Come and relax in the well-appointed and comfortable living area and enjoy the large flat screen TV. Free wi-fi in the unit and enjoy watching the coastal birds and jumping fish from the deck. Covered parking under unit. Three or four minute walk to the beach. Just a short stroll down the beach is the Litchfield Inn which is the only Litchfield restaurant that can claim an ocean view. Free tennis courts, beach access, and pool are close to the unit. For the party animal Myrtle Beach with all its attractions is located about 20 miles to the north. Fishing is available on the lakes within the resort and deep sea or creek fishing boats as well as guides for hire are in close proximity. Jet Skis, RVs, campers, trailers, and trailered boats are NOT allowed within the gate to Litchfield by the Sea. There is however a large unattended parking lot presently on the premises on the north side of Litchfield by the Sea.

Our guests enjoy the amenities of the resort--Oceanfront beach club and miles of walking,jogging, bicycling trails. There is a health club on the premises which has several rates available; in addition there is a larger health club on Highway 17 less than a mile away.

The main level has a KING SIZE BED with adjoining full bath. Upstairs bedroom has TWO QUEEN SIZE BEDS, a private bath and walk-in closet; Dining room table comforably seats six and may be extended by using the leaf in the closet.

We also have available for rent a 4 bedroom Avian Forest condo(see VRBO #278583) less than one mile from the beach, and a mountain cottage in Montreat, NC.

Lovely place, beautiful view of the lake, close to tennis and the beach

Very short drive to to groceries, restaurants, Brookgreen Gardens, and 35 min south of the airport. Home is well kept, kitchen supplied for whatever you may want to create. Large deck overlooking a small lake and marsh great for watching wildlife, eating out, or stargazing. Tennis courts are well maintained, beach is a short drive or walk (1-2 blocks?) away. We enjoyed the ability to play tennis every day, and walking from there to the beach to cool off. Nice places to sit right above the beach, or stairs going down to the beach for beach combing for as far as you're able. Thank you Marge and Bill for sharing your place, and cheerfully fielding our calls.

NICE STAY

This is a nice place, clean and functional. It was nice to have the use of the bicycles and the beach chairs from the storage shed below. The deck was great for breakfast. The master bedroom king bed was wonderful. The place probably could use some updates. But, it was a nice place close to the beach.

Owner's Response: Just let us know when you are ready to get busy FYI our plans are to work on remodeling the upstairs bathroom but of course the amount of investment plays a large role in the amount of rent charged.... in my view this is a deal!!!

A good value for your money

This property has a very nice view and has great access to the beach. It was mostly clean and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cooking and baking needs. The master bedroom has been upgraded to a king bed which was very comfortable. Living room couches have white slipcovers and in my opinion appear nicer than photographs. The owners are easy to work with. The master bathroom is nicely updated with a great walk-in shower.

We gathered at Pawley's Island for a family reunion and there were 6 different units in Heron Marsh that were rented for the week. In comparison to the other units, unfortunately I would have to say that our unit was not up to par with the others as they seemed to be fresher and better updated. Newer furniture in the living and master bedroom does reflect that the owners are starting to make the unit better, but then all the other units that family members rented were higher priced than this one was. I had actually rented another property but it was sold, forcing me to make a second choice. For the price, it is a good value. The unit also has a key-less entry which is wonderful so you never have to worry about losing a key on the beach.

The reasons I gave this property 3 stars is due to the following: 2 outside lights which illuminate your entry and stairwell were not working so in the evening it was quite difficult to see at the bottom and top of the stairway. Only 3 of the 4 stove burners worked (although the oven worked great). The dishwasher was totally useless and should be updated. I rinsed off all dishes by hand and placed them in the dishwasher only to find 3/4 still showed signs of being dirty after the cycle was completed. Everything was hand washed after that point which is not what you want to do when on vacation. There were large cobwebs hanging from the cathedral ceiling in the living room and an empty water bottle was found under one of the upstairs beds. All bathrooms were clean though.

I did make the owners aware of the entrance lights not working properly and hopefully this won't be an issue for future renters as this is something which, unless this is a wiring issue, could be easily missed due to housekeeping being done in daylight hours.

If you'd like to see a gator, you'll probably find one hanging around in the pond along with blue heron, white egrets, geese and more.

Great!

We loved our stay with the lake view from the deck and the ocean only 4 minutes away. The condo is very comfortable and nicely decorated. We would stay there again.
