Historic 'Pinecone Cottage' 1.78 Acres of Mountain Views!

My GrandPaw used to say to me, “You need to get back to your roots from time to time.” So I decided to head up to Estes Park to stay in Pinecone Cottage. Pinecone Cottage is the only cottage located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. When I walked into the cottage, all I could say was, “Wow!” It was clean and beautiful, with pine walls and plenty of windows to see the awe-inspiring views. And I had my choice of six comfortable beds (and you know bears like to sleep soundly).

The kitchen was so well equipped that one evening, I prepared dinner myself. To top it off, I went out on the deck to enjoy the perfect weather and spectacular views. After it got a little chilly, I retired indoors to the big, comfortable Jacuzzi tub. What perfection!

Pinecone Cottage is five minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park where I went hiking, drove Old Fall River Road, and read a book by one of the many lakes. I also had plenty of opportunities to commune with my old friends, like the Elk, Deer, Pika and Hawk families! It is also only five minutes from downtown Estes Park, with plenty of shopping and restaurants.

Whether hiking, shopping, eating, or just relaxing, Pinecone Cottage is a must for anyone. My GrandPaw was right...it doesn’t get any better than this!

  We decided t try something different for the thanksgiving break and ended up here at your cottage. Although our stay was short (3 nights) we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for providing us with a little "haven" where we could get away from the world. We may be back.

  As we conclude our stay at the Pine Cone cabin we had a wonderful appreciation of the past; all the hard work of building the house over the decades; keeping it up over through the winters and summers, and enjoying it with family and friends. Now we can appreciate the present; the work of the present owners to preserve the "hand-made" character of my parents summer home, and to share it with so many grateful guests. Walking in, the past memories come rushing back, with all the sounds, and smell of pine cones on the wooden sidings, the lovely view, and modern convenience that made it very comfortable stay. Thank you and your family for your hospitality. ==== When I was a little girl, my sister and I played in this cabin for summer vacation; we would play house, have adventures, and shoot my Dad's BB gun at the huge rock behind the house. Today we are much older but the cabin still holds the memories, secrets and familiarities it did 12 years ago. I love being back since it sparks a tender cord with my childhood. I love what the Ali family has done to the cabin to preserve the historic parts of the cabin. We appreciate them letting us stay to reminisce about our childhood. Hopefully it wont be another 12 before we can come back and enjoy the simple pleasures of this cabin and beautiful Estes park Thank you !! Review from Previous owners/family who stayed at this cabin.   This cabin is worth staying in!! Plenty of room, very up to date, with great views and room to hike! We definitely would stay again. The owners are very nice!

  Our friends and us spent a week in this lovely cabin. The interior exceeded my expectations. We never went out to dinner because the location was lovely and the deck had a great view. Plus you can have a couple glasses of wine without worring about driving back. We hiked 8-10 miles every day and loved the great showers and beds at night. I too would recommend more dishes as with four people we were doing the dishes all the time. Otherwise, everything else was well stocked and in good condition. Would definitely rent again when in the area.

  Our stay at the cozy and quaint Pinecone Cottage in Estes Park was definitely a time to remember for our family. It was our first time to visit Estes Park and hopefully the first of many. We arrived at our tidy, cozy cottage that was even bigger than it looked in the pictures. To our surprise, there was a small balcony upstairs where the kids could look over and see the living room, which was very exciting for them. The cottage was clean, had a beautiful view, and close enough to town that we could get there easily and quickly. We really wanted to see a bear during our stay, but he didn't come around. Maybe next time he will. We enjoyed our evenings on the balcony talking about what we had done that day. I enjoyed the chipmunk that lived right outside the kitchen window who would come out to get his food in the mornings. Everything was clean and well-maintained and it felt like home while we were there. We enjoyed our days in the town shopping, dining, sightseeing, and just walking around. We also drove the nearby Trail Ridge Road to the other side of the mountain and visited Grand lake and Grandby. We enjoyed several hikes in RMNP and took many many pictures of the beautiful scenery of Colorado. We also visited the Stanley Hotel, which was a nice change of pace after a few days of long hikes. While there, my daughter and I had heard of a bear who broke into a local chocolate store so we went to visit one morning. Lo and behold, we got on the Denver 6 o'clock news for an interview. That was definitely fun for us. We will definitely rent this cabin again when we return

  We enjoyed our stay at Pinecone Cottage very much. The cabin's interior is absolutely beautiful and the views from the balcony are spectacular. The unpaved road to the cabin and some of the surrounding homes do not prepare you for the "Wow! Factor" when you enter this cabin for the first time. The tongue & groove woodwork, spacious living room, kitchen & master bedroom, as well as the perfect touch of cabin decor everywhere, make for a very comfortable & pleasant stay in Estes Park.

  The pine cone cottage is a very comfortable house, with a fantastic view of I think the Mummy mountain range, with plenty of privacy. The house is well maintained, very clean, new appliances, deer and a great deck for meals (no bugs). It is centrally located in the heart of Estes with easy access to the park, trailheads on Rte 7 and shopping areas. Clear nights revealed lots of stars. It has everything you need.

  Thank you for a lovely stay. The balcony, the plastic play horses, the monopoly, and the cable TV were all big hits, as well as the amazing view and lovely cabin. Thank you so much !!

  You gave us what we wanted: beautiful views and two bathrooms !! We did get to see a bob cat and a mule deer. The cabin was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We loved your decorations !! Thanks for calling us during our stay. Thanks from the 5 Women from Missouri !!

  We enjoyed a restful and pleasant stay at the lovely retreat cottage in the Rockies ...very comfortable and clean !!. The perfect get away for us flatlanders from Ohio. Hope to return again next year. Thanks so much !!
