Why the Owner Chose Stowe
We fell in love with Stowe, and with Goldilocks cabin.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
We love hiking, biking, antiquing and fishing in the summer; snow shoeing and cross country skiing in the winter. We feel very lucky when there are a few open days in the fall and we can take a trip to Stowe for foliage season. We enjoy the solitude, and the laid back atmosphere of Stowe, as well as many fine restaurants, shopping in the area.
Often referred to as the Aspen of the North, with world class skiing, along with shopping and restaurants.
Owner's Map of Stowe
I am an interior designer, living on Nantucket Island. In 2003 I worked for a design firm with an office in Stowe. When my employer made Stowe her year-round home, she offered to sell me her ski cabin, turn key, so she could purchase something larger. It was an offer I couldn't refuse—and one I have never regretted. Goldilocks cabin is just right. I have many happy memories there.

Cute as a button and comfortable as you can get....very cozy. Best nap I've had in years. Great location for doing absolutely nothing! or, close enough to 3 different ski resorts to ski your life away!! If you've never rented a property before you really should try this one. Great place, great owner, great...Go ahead. Take the 'plunge' and rent this one now before it is all booked up.

years ago I saw this cute little cabin as I randomly searched on VRBO one night. I saved it and thought I have to go there someday! jump to years later and finally came a time to pick a fun winter vacation and I automatically thought of the cute cabin in Stowe that stuck in my head. so right away we booked it and soon armed with my little chihuahua we went there. the town of Stowe is adorable and the food was pretty amazing anywhere we went. we especially loved the horse sleigh rides in town. now for the cabin it was just amazing. we spent most of our time there snuggled on the couch. the bedroom was the cutest thing ever. having fires at night and cooking in that kitchen was great. we will definitely be back. it was so close to town too!

My family stayed at this cabin - four of us including two teenage boys and it gave us the space we needed for privacy and together time. A perfect retreat. Cozy in all aspects - decor, wood stove, layout. An easy drive to town and the slopes. It felt like home and we ate a lot of meals in the cabin, read and relaxed. Kids separated into the loft area, living room and we had the master bedroom with alcove. Felt like we were in the middle of the woods with snow falling steadily throughout the stay. Yet, there were enough modern amenities (TV, internet) that we did not feel to far removed from it all. This was a special place and we would feel comfortable recommending it to anyone planning a stay in Stowe.

Rarely does anything exceed its advertising, but Goldilocks did just that. From the moment we entered we were taken by the eclectic decoration and wonderful layout, that provided a roomy, warm, combination of class and down-home casual comfort. The three of us, two humans, one dog) all fit on immediately. Add to that the attentiveness of owner Jill Evart, who made sure everything was provided and that people were available if anything went wrong (it didn't) and this was just what you look for on a vacation, which is a total break from stress. Do yourself a favor and stay at Goldilocks, just make sure it's not when we've returned

Perfect Getaway in a Beautifully Decorated Cabin

We planned a last minute getaway at Goldilocks and are so happy that we did. We had all of the comforts of home, but felt like we were a world away. It was just what we wanted, and just what we needed. The cabin is super comfortable, well stocked, and decorated in a perfectly stated country elegance that we just loved. Goldilocks has all the elements of a terrific vacation rental home: comfortable furnishings, attention to detail, meticulous maintenance, exceptional housekeeping, an attentive and communicative owner, a convenient location, and the feeling that you're someplace special.

This cabin was very comfortable for our small family and dachshund. It was very pretty and clean. Nice touches like fresh flowers. Plus the cottage is close to town which made dining out a pleasure. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice homey place to stay in a great town.

Goldilocks Cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway. My husband and I stayed there during our honeymoon and it turned out to be exactly what we hoped it would be: cozy, comfortable, country style, clean, and the perfect location. We hope to return and stay there again during a different season so we can experience more Vermont charm.

Hi Jill We got back from out time in Stowe last night! I just wanted to write and tell you how much we LOVED Goldilocks! What a REALLY special place! -Our time in Stowe was so awesome- the skiing was so great- we where up there Martin Luther King weekend and the skiing was really not good at all- it's amazing what a dump of 3-4 ft of snow will do! We felt so cozy and at home during our stay that we only went out for dinner one night- the rest of the time we came back to the house and I cooked-I even brought our fondue pot and we had an awesome fondue dinner on our lat night there. My 11 year old son LOVED the loft- he thought it was great to get to be up there all toasty and warm each night. We got all the laundry in the washer and dryer for the caretaker and I turned the dishwasher on when we left-so hopefully her clean up after us was not too bad- we tried to be helpful! We have rented 3 different houses now up in Stowe- and Goldilocks cabin has been by far our favorite- we will be back for sure Jill, thanks so much for renting to us- we really are so very fond of Stowe- and now have a new love of Goldilocks cabin. Best, Kiki

This is quoted from Vermont Vows magazine summer 2006 issue, where an article was written on Erin's wedding: "Erin says that while being together with family and friends, many of whom came from far away, was the best thing about her wedding, she also treasures the time she had alone with R.J., renting Goldilock's Cottage together for the Thursday to Sunday of their wedding weekend. "It was wonderful for us to have a cozy home base," she says. "It felt like we were in a home, instead of a hotel—and we can't wait to go back and stay there for our anniversary!"
