This Vermont cabin rental is the ideal setting for a honeymoon or a romantic getaway. This lovely cottage, nestled on 4 wooded acres, is located just 1 mile from Stowe village, and 8 miles from Mt. Mansfield and skiing. Originally the ski cabin of a well-known interior designer,Goldilocks is perfectly appointed, and wants for no creature comforts. The designer's inspiration for this little gem was that of a Bavarian ski lodge, and this Stowe vacation rental does indeed transport the visitor to the Austrian alps, with the Black Forest furnishings, hand loomed rugs, and lush draperies.
The piping hot wood stove and the chiming cuckoo clock makes this Stowe cabin a cozy retreat after a day of hiking or skiing. The master suite has an antique four poster bed, complete with custom bedding,and sumptuous mattress. There is also a sitting area, private deck, and television. The sleeping loft has a full size bed. There is also another deck and a gas barbeque grill, washer dryer, fully equipped kitchen, complete with espresso machine, and a shed for ski storage. Fine linens and towels are supplied along with all of the amenities to make your stay comfortable, and your experience one of a kind. Our guests appreciate our attention to detail and have often mentioned this as the reason their stay at this charming Stowe cabin exceeded their expectations.

We fell in love with Stowe, and with Goldilocks cabin.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
We love hiking, biking, antiquing and fishing in the summer; snow shoeing and cross country skiing in the winter. We feel very lucky when there are a few open days in the fall and we can take a trip to Stowe for foliage season. We enjoy the solitude, and the laid back atmosphere of Stowe, as well as many fine restaurants, shopping in the area.
Often referred to as the Aspen of the North, with world class skiing, along with shopping and restaurants.

I am an interior designer, living on Nantucket Island. In 2003 I worked for a design firm with an office in Stowe, so I spent a lot of time in the area. When my employer, who is a well-known interior designer, made Stowe her year-round home, she decided to sell her ski cottage, and purchase something bigger. I had worked with the firm when she furnished the cabin, and we traveled around the Stowe area purchasing antiques, and even bought a few pieces at the Paris flea market for the cabin. The bedding, draperies, and carpets were all custom designed for the space, and the cabin was perfect down to the smallest detail when it went on the market. It was an offer I couldn't resist—and one I have never regreted. Goldilocks is a very special little cabin, and I have many happy memories there.

Hi Jill We got back from out time in Stowe last night! I just wanted to write and tell you how much we LOVED Goldilocks! What a REALLY special place! -Our time in Stowe was so awesome- the skiing was so great- we where up there Martin Luther King weekend and the skiing was really not good at all- it's amazing what a dump of 3-4 ft of snow will do! We felt so cozy and at home during our stay that we only went out for dinner one night- the rest of the time we came back to the house and I cooked-I even brought our fondue pot and we had an awesome fondue dinner on our lat night there. My 11 year old son LOVED the loft- he thought it was great to get to be up there all toasty and warm each night. We got all the laundry in the washer and dryer for the caretaker and I turned the dishwasher on when we left-so hopefully her clean up after us was not too bad- we tried to be helpful! We have rented 3 different houses now up in Stowe- and Goldilocks cabin has been by far our favorite- we will be back for sure Jill, thanks so much for renting to us- we really are so very fond of Stowe- and now have a new love of Goldilocks cabin.
