Our egg shaped chairs on the front porch are perfect for sipping lemonade on a warm summer day.

Cozy cabin in the forest
First off, Karen is the most gracious and accommodating hostess. She was so responsive to my inquiries and checked up on us. The cabin was a little tricky to get to, but I blame that on us being from flat Texas and unused to hilly terrain. But we got the hang of it. The cabin was so quiet and relaxing. Everything we needed was already in the cabin. Very pet friendly. Our furries loved it. We did day excursions to hike and shop. Great area and great place. I would highly recommend.

Love staying in Riverbend
The cabin is very nice and the location is excellent. We have stayed in Riverbend before, but being on the side of the swimming lake was great!! We really appreciated the ability to use floats and chairs! Nice firepit in the front yard and the fenced in run with the gated porch is perfect for most dogs (our 9 pound mini could get out, but she is fine on a leash). I thought the listing said lake view, but we could not really see the lake from the porch. Maybe in the winter you would see more, but when the trees are full, there really is not a view. That is the only reason for 4 and not 5 stars.

Pup Friendly Beautiful Cabin in the Thick Wooded Mountains
After traveling for two days our 15 year old Amstaff was happy to be greeted with a basket full of dog toys! When you welcome our pup you welcome us! With a secure wrap around porch that leads to a secure fenced grassy area this was the most freedom our dog, Sir Hershel, has experienced! The cabin was clean and fully stocked with all the items needed for cooking and enjoying time in the mountains. Karen (the owner) was a great communicator checking to make sure all was well. She responded to all our inquiries within minutes. She was friendly and welcoming. The owners have gone the extra mile here to make sure it would be a great stay! The area is beautiful with lakes and waterfall hikes. We will be back! This cabin is located in a remote, private mountain community.

Blissful Getaway!
We ate breakfast every morning on the back deck with our dog, Magnus. Trails galore to walk him on. The ones with rushing water beside them were so calming. After our walks, the hanging chairs on the front porch were a dream to hang out in with a cool drink and my Nintendo Switch. For dinners with a big dog; we were able to eat at the Lake House Restaurant on the lower deck where the boat slips are, at the Highland we were able to walk him through and eat on the back deck, and behind the Tiki Hut Bar there were several picnic tables right by the rushing water (people were swimming and fishing). In the evenings we watched one or two of our shows on an app whilst pooped Magnus didn’t even budge. A tired dog is a good dog. :) We also made a fire one night and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. Everything was well stocked. Door lock worked perfectly. Wifi worked perfectly. Carpenter Bee Note: I read online that a fake wasp nest would deter them, so I used empty plastic grocery bags and hung them up in the areas that we sat outside. It reduced the number of them a bit. We will definitely be back!! So much appreciation for welcoming a big dog!! Bless you Karen and Dave.

Thanksgiving 2024
What a great Thanksgiving at this property. The location and views were outstanding. The home was very well equipped and we were able to prepare a wonderful Thanksgiving meal for our family. I was bummed out we couldn’t use the fire pit out side due to a burn ban, but the gas logs in the living room was nice to have. The big toaster oven was a nice touch, it worked nice to cook up some snacks instead of using the oven. Having the fenced in area for dogs was nice to have, and also having the amenities for the dogs was a nice to have as well. Less for us to pack. This was our 3rd trip to Lake Lure, we really enjoy spending time here.

Good Get Away
Overall the property was just as described with no major issues. My only concerns were: 1. Dog poop was found in the loft area under the bed when arrived. It was not our dog's either. 2. No firewood was provided. There was some in the pit we were able to use but not what as stated in the ad. I would not hesitate to come back to this place and view these issues as minor. It was a great time and relaxing.

Family Getaway
Our family had a wonderful time at the cabin! It was the perfect place to unwind as a family. We paddle-boarded, swam/lounged on the beach, explored the trails, and hiked Chimney Rock. The house was clean and well-maintained, and the owners were very responsive and organized. Lake Lure and the small surrounding towns are hidden gems. Thank you, Karen, for letting us stay at your place!

This cabin was perfect for our last minute escape from Florida. We had to bring the dogs and the cabin was really dog friendly with dog bowls, leashes, and beds. The cabin is centrally located between towns and close to Spartanburg. We went hiking, went to see a college, shopped, and brewery hopped. The owner is so helpful and quick to respond.

Great getaway
The cabin was beautiful and very quiet. Very modern appliances, comfy beds and the shower was very nice. The cabin is a few minutes from the main road, but once on the main road you're 5-10 minutes from a lot of sites. There is a convenient beach access from the neighborhood which we did not take advantage of (at least not this trip) but we spent most of our time exploring Chimney Rock and the surrounding towns. Overall, we had a great long weekend

My husband and I have been married for 30 years. We live about an hour away from this sweet cabin, which is our 2nd home. Owning this cabin is a dream come true! We are enjoying creating a beautiful relaxing space to share with others so they can escape from it all and enjoy being in the present moment. We are now making memories with our two boys in Lake Lure at our cabin and giving them the off grid experience. Our two dogs, Roxi and Ollie both enjoy hiking and snuggling at our cabin as well as going in the water down at Broad River. We ask that you treat our cabin as if it is yours.

Why they chose this property

We knew the moment we drove into the Riverbend Community that we wanted to have our 2nd home there. We had been searching for over a year for the perfect cabin for ourselves and to have as a vacation rental for others to enjoy. Driving though the dirt/gravel roads in Riverbend you will first see the Old Swimming Hole. Up the road and around the corner you will see Mirror Lake with its pavilion, beach, and dock for boating, fishing and swimming. Across the road is the River Walk where you can take in the beautiful Broad River including several deeper swimming hole areas and big gorgeous boulders, and a small peaceful waterfall. There are some tables down at the river to picnic at as well. Past Mirror Lake is Little Mirror Lake that also has a picnic table. The neighborhood has over 350 houses (mostly log homes) and each one has enough land that you can barely see your neighbor. The community is very wooded, and there's wildlife including deer, bobcats, foxes, bears. We do encourage leashing your dogs for their own safety.
When we are at the cabin we really get the feeling of not wanting to leave. There is much to see only 10 minutes away in Lake Lure or 15 minutes to Chimney Rock, and an hour to Asheville. The location of the cabin is perfect for zip lining, kayaking, the Tryon International Equestrian Center events, festivals (don't miss the Dirty Dancing Festival in Lake Lure in the Fall), tubing, boating, fishing, breweries, wineries, hiking, biking, horse back riding.

What makes this property unique

We knew from the moment we walked into the cabin that it was THE ONE! The beautiful vaulted ceiling (and exposed beams) was the first thing that caught our eye. The handcrafted one of a kind wagon wheel lighting fixture in the living room gave the space a unique feel. Then it was the stone fireplace and mantle from the 1700's taken from a cabin from West Virginia. There are beautiful seasonal views of Mirror Lake from the deck which is a great spot to have your morning coffee.
We have included art work from local artists as part of the decor. The desk and console table are from a local woodworker and was designed by us.
We hope you appreciate some of these unique aspects to our cabin and enjoy it during your stay!
