  • Romantic Spring Long Weekend

"We had a delightful three nights sleeping in the upstairs bedroom with the sky light and watching the moon and the stars above. In the evenings we enjoyed a glass of wine in front of a roaring fire and cooked delicious meals in quality pans. On the rainy days we read books and explored the island even though we have be going to Galiano for years we always find a new beach access. Enjoyed listening to the frogs and the stream bubbling through the yard. When the sun did appear we enjoyed the greenhouse studio for yoga, a nap and reading with the warmth of the sun streaming in. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home with us. It is just what we needed to recharge from the city. K/P"

  • Delightful escape from the mainland!

"We spent a few days here in late May and were delighted to find the property to be even more comfortable and relaxing than expected. An oceanfront home with a great summer cottage vibe. Well equipped, super clean, comfortable, spacious and private. The property is very well maintained and obviously loved and cared for by the owners. An excellent and easy getaway from the city. Thanks C&T for the visit, we certainly hope to come back!"

  • Peaceful and Tranquil - Perfect Place to Unwind

"We had a wonderful week at this oceanfront cottage. Sheila greeted us on arrival, and pointed out that the whales (orcas) were coming through the Active Pass. We saw them nearly every day, as well as otters, seals, deer, a raccoon, bald eagles and other birds such as cedar waxwings, turkey vultures, kingfishers and herons. This cottage has the perfect setting, and the large windows give a great view. The sunrises were spectacular, and there were shore access points to enjoy at a few minutes' walk away. Galiano Island has that "get away from it all" feel, with a slower, gentler pace of life. The cottage is in keeping with that, and has a beautiful old-fashioned charm about it. We enjoyed walking down to the bakery and book shop at Sturdies Bay, and also the Saturday Market. The Bluffs, Bellhouse Provincial Park, Arbutus Point Road and the shore access points at Mary Ann Road were great places to walk with our dogs. Thank you Sheila and Keith for sharing this property with us and allowing us to bring our dogs, who also had a great time."

  • Outstanding

"We were on Galiano to attend our niece's wedding. The weather was outstanding, dry and hot. Our stay at In the Bluff exceeded our expectations ( which were high)!!! The house is better equipped than most people's homes. High end appliances, every convenience that you could ask for. Who ever cleans does an exceptional job. While on the island, we did visit some of the other guests who were staying in other rental properties, some had a musty smell - not ours - clean and fresh! We would return in a heart beat. The first morning a bit of a surprise when the first ferry crossed - their horns are definitely loud. While sitting on the deck, we saw pods of orcas and a couple of eagles. There is a TV but can honestly say we never turned it on, who needs it with that view. Lawrence ( the owner) was very prompt and professional - he was on the island at a different spot and kindly sent email notices when the orcas were on their way. In the Bluff is totally private - you will not see or hear anyone. A car is a necessity and there are some good hiking trails right from the house. If you need to recharge - this is the spot - loved it."
