  • Great getaway for the whole family

"My family and I recently stayed in Robb's lovely cottage. There was plenty of room for the whole extended family - four couples and a few kids. The cottage was very clean and equipped with anything a renter might need or want. Robb was a pleasure to deal with and made every effort to make sure our stay was perfect (Thanks Robb!). My 3 year old nephew loved the shallow, sandy entry to the lake. It provided hours of excavation fun with his trucks. My teenage daughter enjoyed sunbathing on the dock. My husband was thrilled to go fishing early every morning. We are avid boaters and we brought our boat so the kids could ski and tube which they loved. My sisters and I hiked every morning on the trails right near the cottage, then swam across the lake to cool off. My mom enjoyed sitting in the shade watching everyone and doing her crosswords. We all enjoyed using the kayak and peddle boat. This cottage has something for everyone! The natural beauty of this small lake is breath-taking. We didn't want to leave at the end of our week."

  • Fabulous for our family!

"We had such a great time in this home. We travelled from BC to visit with family near by, and this home was a fabulous meeting spot. On first arrival it was dark but we noticed how clean and tidy the inside of the house. Very spacious, lots of areas for family to gather together or get away from the chatter. When we woke up to the sun shining and the views from the bedrooms we were so thrilled. The barn and creek - the kids spent many hours catching frogs and snakes. We drank our coffee on the deck that was also home to a rock frog during our visit. The kids rode the bikes up and down the street and played football and did cartwheels all over the lawn. We visited cheese factories, the distillery, County Cider Co, had a Kingston day trip, spent time at the Belleville pool, went to the Fall fair in Ameliasburg and went swimming at the Sandbanks! In the evenings some played board games in the family room while others could be in the living room visiting or watching tv. It was great set up for us and we hope to back for our next visit. Thanks."

  • Nine long-time friends gathered together for our 27th annual gourmet group trip

"The Regent House met and exceeded our group's expectations in every way. The 5-bedroom, 6-bath home, located a block and a half off of the main street, was the perfect place for all of us for a week in NOTL in early August. Each one of the bedrooms was tastefully decorated and well-appointed as was also true of the public spaces in the house. Some of the amenities were the high quality of the appliances, cookware, dishes, glassware in the kitchen, attractive and comfortable furniture throughout the house, an excellent music system and HDTV in the family room, free Wifi, and a fully equipped and supplied laundry room on the first floor that also included a full sixth bathroom. We spent much of our "downtime" cooking together in the kitchen or at the outside barbecue while "catching up with each other's lives" in the family room and patio dining areas. We all felt relaxed and "at home" in this beautifully restored home with its lovely gardens. There is so much to do in NOTL -- theater at the Shaw Festival, wine tours, a tour of Ft. George, the Peach Festival, great produce from local farm stands and Farmer's Markets, and of course the awesome experience of Niagara Falls from the Canadian side. Melissa and Paul, the owners of the Regent House, could not have been more helpful in the planning for our time in NOTL. They are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all that is available to guests. We all agreed that this week at the Regent House and in the NOTL area was truly at the top of the list of the places we have stayed together over the past 27 years we have been traveling together."

  • Terrific Place to Stay

"We tried to rent the house for a family wedding on the August long weekend only to find that it was already rented. Laura suggested we use the 40' park model trailer and it turned out to be a remarkable suggestion. There was plenty of room for all 5 of us (2 adults and 3 teenagers) and the trailer was stocked with everything one could possibly need for a stay (the only thing we needed was our food). There was even a bag of batteries for the lanterns and remotes! They had set up a tent beside the trailer with an inflatable queen bed. Our youngest son was in heaven! The WiFi was very strong and stable which made all the kids very happy (although I think they watched a little too much NetFlix). We had full use of the grounds, pool, deck, fire pit etc. Ed and Laura checked on us every day to make sure that everything was fine and to see if there was anything that we needed. Laura even brought us an iron and ironing board so that we could clean up our wrinkled clothes for the wedding. Even though there was a shower in the trailer, they insisted that we could use the shower in house any time we wanted. I couldn't imagine better hosts. I would highly recommend that anyone who is travelling to Thunder Bay check out this little jewel in the North. Whether you stay in the house or the trailer, you should have a great experience."
