  • Another Great Stay

"This was a return visit, we stayed at Villa Tranquility several years ago and had fond memories of it. Still well presented and with the extras that we haven't often found in other vacation rentals. This time R & R was our priority and although we repeated a few of our favourite trips (boat trip down to the Pitons, trip into the rainforest where we found we could now zipwire!), much of our time was spent playing golf (thanks to Kris for doing all the bookings and the owners for enabling us to be like members), relaxing by the pool and enjoying cooking in the well equipped kitchen and on that massive BBQ with the view we fell in love with last time. Weather was not quite as perfect on this visit. Couple of days of rain and an impressive thunderstorm (we saw the need for the deep roadside ditches!) but at least the rain was warm and the owners have thoughtfully left plenty of DVD's and books even though we are now "kindled". All in all another great stay. Thanks for sharing what is clearly your home, be seeing you again. Mary and Gavin PS Thanks to Mike the gardner for slicing the top off a a few coconuts from the palms in the garden."

  • Stunningly situated and well appointed property!

"This looked great in the pictures but was in fact even better in real life. Quiet and well situated for either the beach or the shops and restaurants. Wonderful to sit outside on the jetty in the evenings and listen to the tree frogs or on the shaded secluded patio for meals. Linda the maid came in every day, cleaned, washed and generally made the place perfect - always happy to share information on where to go and how to get there. Victoria at Dragonfly couldn't have been more helpful, even providing us with a mobiles to keep in touch with our daughter at another resort. We went on the Endless Summer catamaran trip down to Soufriere and can thoroughly recommend this. Spinnakers Bar on the beach is a great place to watch the sunset while enjoying happy hour. Also liked the Tapas restaurant next to the Steak place opposite Rodney Bay Mall. I would thoroughly recommend 4 Rodney Bay if you want a central but quiet place to stay."

  • Can't decide who would like it here

"From other reviews it looks like others have had better experiences, so read those too! The view is great, despite being cut up by wires, and the property is lush and well maintained. The plunge pool is also well maintained and a fantastic addition being that the walk back from the beach is really more of a hike as it's about 20-30 minutes and steep uphill...we're 30 years old and in shape and it was tough after a day in the sun. The house itself is a great idea in general but the fact is, that after dark, the only place to hang out without being completely exposed to the outside world is the bedroom that has zero entertainment inside it. So you end up eating dinner and watching tv or playing games basically outside where everyone who drives by can look at you. Zero privacy. This didn't sit well with me...the house is up off the ground about 6+ feet but could easily be accessed by someone so I basically felt scared for 5 days straight that we would be robbed (especially after reading too many bad stories of crime in St.Lucia). The house was well stocked, kitchen was tiny but functional, and Charmaine the house keeper was friendly and available as well as the rest of the staff. I do wish they all didn't come before 10-11am...it was weird waking up to hearing them around our house and she knocks on the door as soon as she hears you're awake so you literally get no privacy here. I'm just not sure who this property is for...honeymooners would have no privacy, older folks would hate the walk to the beach and the noise, and families would have no space or security. It's also far from anything so cab rides cost at minimum $30US. I feel bad giving this review as Sam the owner is really friendly and great but I really didn't enjoy the stay...but maybe that's just because I'm a wuss and prefer to be around more people/entertainment? This house is on a corner so there is a road behind and in front of it...lots of road noise as one goes to the Jade Mountain resort and Anse Chastanet beach not to mention the construction noise behind the house. The guy working there did offer not to do "heavy" work until 10am and to not work at all one day of our trip but it ended up they were using loud saws and hammering around 8am everyday so really...there was no reprieve. There are 3 cats who live there, 2 of which are super friendly, the other is just shy. There are also cute frogs on the wall map at night which was neat. Plenty of old movies to watch and the water was warm."

  • Relaxed, casual hideaway ...

"The place is terrific for an unwinding week. It’s right out of an architectural magazine. Jeff, the owner, was great about getting us all the info we needed. Everything went off without a hitch. Even a spot of rain now & then was easy to take, just lounging in the great room with a book. The house is well situated for exploring Soufriere (the Pitons & mountains), much more so than staying in the north (Gros Inlet), which is less mountainous and more arid (less lush). The staff keep you well fed, assuming you do the shopping or do it yourself. There’s an IGA just north of Marigot that is surprisingly well stocked. Do yourself a favor, and eat in very night. Christie is quite a chef, and delivers a fine creole meal in the confines of your (temporary) home. No worries about driving on windy roads after drinks/dinner. Go ahead, have another rum punch and enjoy the view! There's few restaurants I would consider anyway (Hideaway in Marigot, or Ti Kaye). Will definitely consider coming back to this place, now that I know the lay of the land in St. Lucia. One tip: It’s a very casual place (not like Bermuda or St. Barts). Dress down, and leave expensive stuff at home for security and to fit in. Enjoy!"
