Overview of Puntarenas Vacation Rentals
Puntarenas City Vacation Rentals in the Center of it All
Second in size only to San Jose, Puntarenas City is one of the largest cities in Costa Rica. While the city used to be one of the principal seaports for the country, Puntarenas City travel is popular for tourists, mostly because cruise ships traveling along the Pacific often use Puntarenas City as a stopover port. A tree-lined promenade near the beach, known as the Paseo de los Turistas, becomes a popular area for tourists to visit restaurants, cafes, discos and bars. While the murky water near Puntarenas City vacation rentals isn't the best for swimming, the beach is a great place to relax.
Puntarenas City Travel Steep in Costa Rican Culture
Puntarenas City travel during special festivals and carnivals can make your Costa Rican experience even more enjoyable. Even the locals make family traditions of traveling to Puntarenas City. The Casa de la Cultura offers plays and concerts during peak tourist seasons. A visit in November will allow you to participate in the Festejos Populares, an end of the year celebration. July brings the Fiesta del Virgin del Mar (Fiesta of the Virgin of the Sea), a festival including a habor parade of decorated boats, boat races, dancing and food. February and March are alive with the city's annual carnival. You can also enjoy the beautiful old structures within the city and a spectacular old church.
Puntarenas Beach Homes Near Several Destinations
Staying in Puntarenas beach homes puts you in a great starting location to travel to other areas of the Puntarenas providence. Several beaches are nearby to enjoy, including Playa Naranjo, Playa Mal país, San Lucas, Cedros and Jesuita. The Monteverde Cloud Forest, a lush rain forest with many available exploration activities to enjoy, is also close by. Several other national forest and wildlife refuges make up the Puntarenas region.
