  • Wonderful experience!

"We just spent 11 wonderful days in this winemaker's cottage in Burgundy. This wonderful restored cottage from 1650 was perfect in every way. One of the most beautiful areas we have visited and we hope to be able to return in the near future!"

  • Burgundian country cottage

"Christophe and Christine were the perfect hosts for a week in Burgundy. They were available for us to call during our entire stay so we could ask questions about the area, sites, and restaurants. We needed to get away from the city life for a bit and this was the right choice. We arrived in autumn with plans to explore the Burgundian food, wine, and culture. Burgundy was ripe with the scenes and scents of fall. During this trip, we discovered stellar Chardonnays of Puligny-Montrachet, Epoisses cheese, and patisserie shops. The cottage is in a central location south of Dijon / Beaune and north of Lyon. Christophe was correct saying that it would be easy to keep busy for a week within a few kilometers of the cottage. We took that advice and found the cottage was perfect for local sight seeing as well as extended day trips. The cottage kitchen was ample for making coffee, breakfast, and evening market vegetable soup. We'd spend the days exploring and return home to enjoy saucisson, fromage, jambon, moutarde, vin rouge, and the other culinary finds that are easy to stumble upon in the countryside. We appreciated the herbs and vegetables that grew on the property as they provided a very local culinary experience. After it got dark, the fire would be lit and we'd enjoy Marc de Bourgogne before retiring to a crackling fire in the iron stove. Christophe and Christine have a list of accomodating restaurant recommendations ready for you. Even though our French language skills are basic, we felt welcomed when we called or emailed for reservations. One morning, we headed up to the Sunday Chagny market. The town was full of life and the fondue lunch at Le Grenier a Sel was what we needed after hitting the market hard. One of the highlight lunches was the nearby Michelin star Grueze in Tournus. They made a stellar meringue with an creamy yolk center and served it with escargots and a champignon sauce that was beyond fabulous. The cottage was more than enough room for two of us. The cottage could have easily accomdated another couple or kids comfortably. We hope that you enjoy the cottage as much as we did."

  • A Repeat Visit

"We returned to Sanet and once again found a realy comfortable apartment in a prime location. La Charite sur Loire and it's surrounding area is rich in history and culture. No matter how long you stay there you would feel you should come back for more. Once again we are grateful for not just the professional management of the apartment but the genuine friendliness of Kelly and Byron. Thankyou and yes, we would love to return."

  • Comfortable and convenient base for the Cote d'Or

"We've stayed here twice in the past couple of years, and look forward to returning. Sarah and Ken have created a comfortable home away from home for people who want to enjoy Semur and the wider experience of Bourgogne. Semur is an amazing example of a well preserved medieval city. It's small enough that you can cover it on foot easily, but big enough to have a selection of restaurants, cafes, bakeries, wine shops and even a supermarket. There is a lot to explore. From this location, it's an easy drive or bus/train to Dijon, Beaune and Paris. There are lots of interesting small towns in the region just a few minutes away by car. The house contains a collection of travel information in several languages. WiFi makes it easy to do internet research as necessary. The house is equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay. It's well located for easy access to town. Having access to the private garden and courtyard is an extra plus in the summer for those who like to dine outside. I recommend it heartily."
