"Searched long and hard for a place in DC for a place to stay for a family vacation. With a 12 and 11 year old it wasn't easy but this place was perfect. The communication from the owners was great leading up to the day of the rental. They were very quick at getting back to us as we had multiple questions. Upon arrival the place was spotless and well maintained and the location was perfect for us.
We purchased a parking permit for our vehicle and it was great. Even though you have to park by zone there were plenty of spaces.
I would highly recommend the place and would definitely go back."

"Was in town for the cherry blossom festival and initially decided to try this VRBO due to the hotel prices being elevated with the festival. It ended up being a good decision for multiple reasons. I always love having a kitchen when I'm traveling solo so I don't have to go out to eat for every meal. Though small, it had everything I needed for preparing some meals--even a shopping bag to use at the nearby Trader Joe's. The apartment was clean with a comfortable bed. I liked the "pure organic" towels so much that I tried to find where I could buy them for home. There is a little outside patio with a grill and nice big washer/dryer there in the basement if you need to do laundry. Like others have said, though it is a basement apt there were plenty of windows and light. I particularly loved the neighborhood. Many people out and about, visiting, walking dogs, eating on patios in the area. Lots of restaurants to choose from--the tacos at the taqueria two doors down are quite tasty and the carmelitas at the Bakehouse are yummy. The U St Metro station is very close and you can get all around the city easily on that. The Dupont Circle area (which also has a Metro station) is a slightly longer walk away but still less than a mile through nice neighborhoods and by a cute dog park on S Street. I appreciated the DC travel books that were on the bookshelf and there is a notebook there that tells how to work the remote to the TV. Eva was very helpful in responding to emails with any questions I had! I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone I knew!
Tips: Take an umbrella if any rain expected during your stay because the closest one to buy is several blocks away. Also, probably common sense but I struggled with it for a minute--the lockbox for the keys has a black button which releases the keys when you put the right code in, it doesn't open from the part that is hooked onto the railing which is what I kept trying to make it do:)"

"This place was fabulous! Great location close to jazz clubs and more restaurants than you can possibly eat at. The apartment was perfect for my husband and I while we were on vacation in DC. The apartment is great with everything you could possibly need and then some. Erling was a great host helping us with our bags when we arrived and showing us how everything worked in the apartment and where things were. He even showed us around the neighborhood and recommended good places to eat. He also let us borrow a couple metro cards so we didn't have to buy the card. Thanks Erling! We didn't see Erling much after the first day which tells you that we had no problems with the apartment because we didn't need to contact him. We were gone most days from sun up to sundown so we weren't there much. We found the place very comfortable and the location was great. U street can be a very happening place in the evenings! We highly recommend Ben's Chili Bowl, Ted's Bulletin, Masa 14 and Lupo Verde for great places to eat. Use the metro it is fast and easy. DC was a wonderful town and so much to see and do. We were very glad to have found this place to make our home base. I would definitely recommend it to others."
