  • Paradise was found!

"Once we found our way around the neighborhood we really enjoyed our stay. The condo is very clean and it worked well as home base for myself, my wife, and our 19 year old son. The private beach entrance/park is great. It has bathrooms and outdoor showers. On hot days we sat in the park under shady palms while watching and listening to the ocean. I literally walked 50 miles during our week and also cycled 25 miles on the island, the trails are great. Walking into Bill Baggs Park on the beach from the condo was paradise found for me. I really enjoyed stopping at the Boaters Grill at the No Name Harbor in Bill Baggs Park while on my hikes. The Lighthouse Cafe must have been having a bad day when I stopped for breakfast. If you walk to the lighthouse on the beach continue through the parking lot and you'll get a great view of Stiltsville (Google it). I also enjoyed walking the beach toward Miami. After you pass through Crandon Park you'll come to a fossilized reef. I recommend visiting the wildlife area in Crandon Park. There are lots of peacocks and other birds roaming freely. We had some wonderful meals on Key Biscayne. The Beach Bar at the Ritz was great (best mahi sandwich I ever had) and Cioppino at the Ritz was great too. I also enjoyed Ayesha (Indian) and the El Gran Inka (Peruvian). We saw lots of critters we're not used to seeing too. The highlight was a manatee right off the beach opposite the private beach entrance. My only regret was I didn't bring my fins and mask. Many people swam off the beach and saw large rays and puffer fish. Although Key Biscayne is quiet, if you need a change of pace Miami is very close. On our departure day we spent the day in Fort Lauderdale. Ft. Lauderdale has a wonderful beach and boardwalk (not wild like Miami Beach) The owners Raoul and Gachi were great to deal with. I'd go back."

  • W is for WOW !!!

"Had to travel to Ft Lauderdale on an extended business trip. Didn't want to stay in a little hotel room, so I went on VRBO and found this place. Loved it for many reasons. Great location with many things within walking distance. And that's if you want to leave the W. Steak restaurant onsite is rated as the best in the area. The hotel pool is THE hot spot. I think more people were at that pool than at the beach because it was so much fun. The hotel staff is very pleasant also."

  • Mostly highs with some lows

"My wife and I (late 50's) stayed here a week in high season and enjoyed it. The condo is equipped well enough with good sized bathrooms, an adequate kitchen, open space and great views. Understand this is an 11th floor unit, which means you park overnight in an inside garage on the 5th floor. Then you enter the building and take an elevator up to 11th floor. You can walk to a couple of good restaurants nearby (Frankie's across the street and Hurricane Alley a couple blocks away) but you need to take the car to get most everywhere else, beaches included. The pool downstairs is nice (though kept very warm) and shaded throughout most of the day because of the buildings which surround it on 3 sides. People are friendly and there's good security regarding entry. Some noise issues with bands playing live music at 2 restaurants sharing the same real estate, but overall the space is comfortable, very clean and the panoramic views from high are wonderful. With a few minor improvements (more than 2 chairs for wrap around balcony, information for tourists not familiar with area) we would happily return or recommend this property for couples or families with older kids."
