"The Scandia House Loft" was a labor of Love, it took two years to restore this former house of Pleasure. In the process of restoration we discovered old coins, whore house tokens, old newspapers ,wooden nickels and other artifacts. It left us with this beautiful place in downtown Hamilton, Montana over The Blodgett Canyon Cellars Wine Bar and Tasting Room... we added a lovely 2nd floor deck with access to the roof top lounge with a fantastic view of the Bitter-root and Sapphire Mountains. You'll agree it is an enchanting place to stay...We look forward to meeting you all...

What makes this Corporate Apartment unique
My wife and I bought this Property two years ago. It was the 2nd or 3rd brick building on Main Street. The city father "Marcus Daly The Copper King" built the Bank 1st and the Scandia Whore House 2nd or 3rd. In 1897, 120 years ago we didn't know it at the time but, we bought the downtown religious shrine (Just Kidding). As we took it apart we found old coin, whorehouse tokens and the gabled skylights. It looks like a crystal palace now compared to the dark hole it was. Then we put in a roof top lounge, 2nd floor deck, restored the murals downstairs and opened The Blodgett Canyon Callers Wine Bar. Upstairs we put, in tin ceilings 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The cozy bar has an 1875 railroad map and club chairs it has a great vibe through out. We put up a 5 piece wainscot to represent the way we felt it would have looked back in the day, I used gold and black oriental rugs all a round. The street side great room has a beautiful gas fireplace and dining area. Well equipped Kitchen with a Black walnut island for your prep work

Excellent, Eclectic Apartment with a History and a Ton of Amenities
We arrived in Hamilton, Montana on a Friday afternoon after driving up the Salmon River Scenic Byway from Sun Valley, ID. The apartment was very easy to locate - basically as soon as you turn onto the main street of Hamilton. Craig met us within a few minutes of calling and gave us a tour of the apartment.
It is a two bedroom, two bath apartment above the Blodgett Canyon Wine Tasting Room. There is a separate entrance to the apartment with locks at the street level door and at the door to the apartment on the second floor. The apartment has a large living/dining area in the front, a very nice kitchen and excellent separate wet bar in the middle, a large bathroom (with washer/dryer) and then two bedrooms (one bedroom with a large master bath).
The furnishings are all new, comfortable and in excellent condition. The decorations are an eclectic mix that had me noticing something new and different every time I entered a room or walked down the hall. There is a ton of natural light throughout the apartment. It has been a pretty hot summer, and the air conditioning was very much appreciated, keeping the apartment vary comfortable. The apartment wasn't just clean, it was immaculate. This is a gorgeous property that has been lovingly restored. But that is just the start.
The deck on the roof is also available with 360 degree view of the Bitterroot Valley and surrounding mountain ranges. The deck is shared with the wine tasting room when it is open, but you have it all to yourself, when the wine bar is closed. A great place to enjoy when the weather cooperates.
Linens and towels are provided. There are also plenty of "extra" towels, wash cloths, blankets, etc. in the ample closets and linen shelves. The kitchen is well stocked with anything needed for cooking, serving and eating, including a coffee maker and a selection of coffees. We didn't lack for anything, but if there was something needed, I am certain that Craig would have gladly provided it.
When we arrived, the refrigerator was already stocked with eggs, bacon, orange juice, yogurt, granola, english muffins, bagels, butter and cream cheese. Additionally, there were snack items available and candy dishes (with chocolates). What a great welcome for our stay. This was more like staying at a friend's place than renting on VRBO.
We highly recommend this property to anyone needing a place to stay in this area. What great experience!
Y'all are too kind...hope to see you again...thank you for Choosing to stay with us at "The Scandia House Loft".
Couldn’t ask for more!
Beautiful well maintained apartment , located on Hamilton’s Main Street.
Very well pleased!
Great property to stay at in Hamilton!
Fabulous place, beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and centrally located!
Craig's charming place surrounds you with special touches! It was comfortable, close to all the cute Hamilton town offers. Check in was a breeze. Craig even stocks the refrigerator with goodies and breakfast items. The roof top is so cool to watch the sunsets of Montana's big sky! We loved it! Hated to leave and can't wait to return!
Very nice good place to relax and enjoy downtown Hamilton
Beautifully Restored Rental
Craig's historic 2-bedroom rental has been beautifully restored and furnished. It is welcoming, cozy, and spacious. The lighting complements the space, and I appreciated the added touches such as Parrish art and vases of fresh flowers. Craig has stocked the rental with everything a person could need, including breakfast items. If you have any issues at all, he will immediately assist. The view from the upper deck showcases the mountains that surround Hamilton. A grocery store, shops, restaurants, pubs, and other establishments are right outside your door since the rental is conveniently located on Main Street in the historic downtown area (be sure to visit Fords Department Store). I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay, and hope to return someday.
