We just finished renovating our lake cabin on Long Lake just north of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. We are not able to get up here as often as we'd like so we want to share it! The main level of the property consists of a kitchen, living area, dining area, 1 bedroom and a bathroom. The upstairs has 2 more bedrooms. The downstairs is our "game room" with darts and foosball, and a big screen TV. Enjoy the screen porch in the warmer months - everyone says it feels like you are sitting up in the trees. Warm cedar lines the interior of the cabin, curl up by the real wood fireplace.

We had a great stay at the Loon Lodge.
The cabin was clean. They did a nice job on the bathroom remodel. The cabin had everything we needed to make meals, coffee, etc and feel at home.
The outside amenities were great. You couldn't see any neighbors or cabins once you are on the back deck or down by the water. We did use the paddle-board, kayak and peddle-boat and they were all great!
The location is nice and quiet. The booklet had good information about local restaurants and shops.
Perfect Rain or Shine
We had an absolutely amazing stay at Loon Lodge. My husband, myself, and our 2 year old and infant stayed for a few nights and were grateful for all of the care and attention to detail. The space was beautiful, well decorated, very clean, and each time we thought "oh, we should have brought...!" - we found it. The place was well stocked. We had coffee and afternoon chai on the screened in deck while watching the thunderstorms, watched Netflix and relaxed in the living room (comfy set up), slept well with our toddler just across the hall upstairs, and cooked a ton in the kitchen. Tip: when you bring towels, remember to bring hand towels for the kitchen/washing hands if you don't want to use the paper towels provided. We loved the view - very private, the game space downstairs, and all the lake space had to offer. We used the paddleboards and boat a lot, swam in the clean lake (good for little kids - initially shallow for wading/splashing/rock skipping), and sat outside enjoying the quiet space. There was the nice fireplace inside and pit outside, with lots of varied options for seating. It was nice and easy to use the lifejackets provided and get right into the lake. The hammock and swing were fun. There is a lot to do in the area as well, especially with Turtle Lake so close. Gracious, intentional, owners who pay attention to the details. We WILL certainly stay again.
Peaceful, relaxing, and many great memories made
We really enjoyed the screened in porch. The lake was warm and calm. Really enjoyable girls weekend!
Our visit was too short! Clean, comfortable, exactly as shown in photos, with all that we needed.
Our stay really was too short but we made the most of our time at Loon Lodge, our wonderful home away from home, Everything was exactly as shown in the photos, so clean, relaxing, and inviting.
Upon arrival we headed straight for the lake and took the peddle boat and paddle boards out. The lake was calm and quiet (we were there on Mon-Wed), making it feel as if we had the entire place to ourselves. We slept beautifully and couldn't believe how clam the night was, even with needing to have the quiet AC on.
We spent most of our next day on the lake in the kayaks and on the paddle boards (saw a large, very relaxed turtle at one point!) but took a little time to explore the area too. We highly recommend a few of the places in the organized, beautifully laid out and helpful booklet that Stephanie put together. We loved Comstock Creamery, Louie's Meats, and County Line for dinner (our 8 and 12 yo kids had a blast playing pool and enjoying the playground there while we relaxed with a classic Wisconsin Bloody Mary and a sour Old Fashioned ---per the recommendation of close friends!)
I can't help but mention, for anyone else with allgeries (dust mites for our family), that all rooms have wood floors, and the leather couch and chair were a real plus. The two upstairs bedrooms had new, covered mattresses (all mattress were covered) and all beds of course had fresh sheets and fresh comforter/blankets. At least for our family, allergies actually cleared up during our stay - yay!
I'll also add that we might just have had perfect timing but bugs were not an issue at all. We'd been told by friends to come fully prepared with bug spray, etc. but we didn't have to use ours.
Last but certainnly not least, Stephanie has excellent communication skills and got back to me quickly when I had a few questions. She was helpful, thoughtful, and delightful to connect with during our brief texting times.
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Clean, quiet, relaxing getaway. Just what we needed
The screened in porch was perfect. We also liked the use of the paddle boat, which was nice seeing as the lake is the right size for not having a lot of boat traffic. Loons on the lake were a nice touch also at night. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our reality check.
This was our second stay on Long Lake and it did not disappoint once again. The fishing was great and our kids spent moat of their time on or in the water. The cabin was stocked very well with everything we needed and was very comfortable. The screen porch was a wonderful place to enjoy the lake view free from any bugs. We can't wait for our next visit!
