Our Little Cabin On Long Lake. Sleeps 4-6. Lakefront/Lake Access. Very Private.
Little Bear Lodge is a cute little private retreat on Long Lake between Turtle Lake, Wisconsin and Cumberland, WI. Sleeps 4-6. The downstairs consists of a cozy living room and kitchen area, and the upstairs loft has two queen beds. The couch folds out into an additional queen bed, and curtains can close off this additional sleeping quarter. Drink your coffee on the front deck and enjoy the natural surroundings. No neighbors in sight except across the lake! Fishing and lake fun in the summer, and TONS of snowmobile trails and ATV trails accessible right by the property. Try stand up paddleboarding or just relax on the dock. We have satellite internet (all that is available at the remote location,) but it is not 100% reliable. We do our best to keep it working, but we just can't promise internet. Year round fun!

Hi! My name is Stephanie. I am a web designer and I also manage and own a few rental properties. I grew up in Woodbury, MN and currently still live near the Twin Cities. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for college. I love the outdoors and I grew up spending time at family friend's cabins, so I enjoy getting to share our little cabin with others.
Why Stephanie chose Johnstown
When we were initially looking for a cabin, we wanted something that truly felt like a getaway. We chose the Turtle Lake/Cumberland area because I grew up going to our family friend's cabin in Cumberland, and I fell in love with the area. It's also such a perfect distance from the Twin Cities, at just 90 minutes, and close to many cities in Wisconsin. With nearly 8 acres, this cabin felt like a true escape from city life. It's cozy, and we don't claim it to be a mansion, but it really has everything you need in a cabin. Plus, isn't the point to spend time with family or friends?! We also wanted to make sure that everything we love to do at cabins, we get to share with our renters. We provide lots of outdoor activities, such as paddleboards, a canoe, a hammock, fire pits, and a swim platform just to name a few.

Great little cabin on the lake
Awesome cabin away from everything but still minutes from town.
Perfect secluded winter getaway!
My boyfriend and I came up to Little Bear Lodge for a long weekend! It was everything we wanted! Very secluded, very quiet and calming. We spent our time mostly in the cabin, relaxing, watching movies, cooking and it felt just like home! Everything we needed was there. Spent a little time checking out the small surrounding towns. And loved seeing all the wildlife! I did contact Stephanie once for the WiFi password since it is different than listed (look on the back of the router) and she got back to me right away! I loved the stairs/ladder to get upstairs to the beds, definitely a work out!! My boyfriend however, who is afraid of heights, wasn’t as fond of them. He even said if they showed the stairs in the pictures, he may not have wanted to book. It would be hard for an older person or young child. I can’t wait to come back in the summer to take advantage of the lake and the water toys! Thank you for sharing this cabin!
Relaxing Daddy/Daughter Getaway!
Surprised my dad with a weekend trip her for Christmas. We had a wonderful time just relaxing and enjoying time away from the daily grind. We got lots of fresh snow during our short stay, so we took advantage and played in it like kids! It was a blast. The cabin itself was absolutely lovely, like a Christmas postcard. It was toasty warm and had everything we needed...including fun games for us to play and marathons of old shows and movies when we were playing. The gentlemen who plows the drive in the winter was so sweet and made sure we could get in and out safe. Everyone we ran into in town had the same warm welcoming attitude. We would have stayed a few weeks, if we could. Definitely want to go back! Thank you for a wonderful place to spend our extended weekend!!
Exactly What We Were Looking For.
My wife and I were looking for a remote cabin in the woods. And that is exactly what we found at Little Bear Lodge. We really felt alone, it was so peaceful. It is a right on a beautiful lake. We had a great time using the paddle boat, canoe and kayaks. The cabin is cozy and the set up was perfect for us. Beds were very comfortable for us. Stephanie is fantastic, any questions we had she was very quick to get back to us. We will for sure make this a yearly trip. Can't wait to get back........ Thanks a bunch Stephanie
Very remote adorable wonderfully appointed cabin in the woods. Quiet and peaceful.
LIttle Bear was just what we needed. Tucked away at the end of a long wooded driveway with a beautiful view of long lake. We wanted a secluded get away and we got it in spades. Cumberland is a great little town to meander around and a great place for supplies. We really really enjoyed our time here.
Little Bear Lodge
Overall we had a very nice time at Little Bear Lodge. The lake was beautiful, the property was amazing and very quiet & peaceful. The only negatives were the water pressure is very weak so it's difficult to conserve water (as requested) because it's hard to rinse your hair, dishes, etc. But that wasn't a huge deal, definitely manageable. But I have to say the beds & pillows were quite uncomfortable, probably the most uncomfortable my husband or myself ever slept on. We both woke up several times a night due to wishing it was time to wake up and get out of that bed. In fact, we left the day before checkout because it was raining and we didn't want to sleep in that bed another night. We rented the cabin for 7 days. Other than that the cabin was very enjoyable and comfortable for my husband, myself & kids.
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay overall. The water pressure is something we've been working on for a long time, the minerals clog the pipes so we put in a very expensive filter system in which seems to help. We will go there and see if there is any sort of clog we can work on to improve the pressure. As for the beds, all the other feedback we've gotten was that they are very comfortable. I just bought some new pillows in case that is the issue, but I apologize the beds were not to your liking. We always encourage guests to contact us during their stay if they have something that isn't going well or is an issue so we can promptly address it. Please let me know what the issue was specifically on the beds (outside of getting additional pillow options) so we can try to resolve it for future guests!
