The property is located above our family business. Although listed as a 2 bedroom it can actually expand into 3/4 bedrooms (with 2 bathrooms)! Can easily accommodate 6/8 persons. PLEASE NOTE: If booking is for less than 5 persons then only ONE bathroom will be available. Also, please be aware that there are 34 steps to climb before arriving at the front door of the flat! However, you will not be disappointed once you are inside as the property has only just been renovated and freshly decorated and furnished. It features skylights or windows in every room. There are two double bedrooms (one featuring a King Sized Bed and one a Queen Sized bed) and one room with two single beds. The floors are hard wood throughout and the kitchen features Split Level Oven, Micro Wave. There is a laundry room with Washer/Dryer & Iron & Ironing Board. The double rooms have hotel style mounted hair dryers.

Great flat in a great location!
Our family of 5 adults was very comfortable here and the location was perfect! The flat was only a block from a large tube station and felt very safe. We would definitely book this again!
No communication about no heat/hot water
This is my first ever less than 5-star review, and I use VRBO frequently. The actual flat is lovely and the location couldn't be better. BUT - be sure you have telephone access during your stay, or hope that nothing goes wrong. We had no heat and no hot water for the first 24 hours and the owner/manager did not reply to a single message sent by email or VRBO message.
We arrived at 9pm after a full day of travel. The flat was 14C (57F). We spent some time trying to turn the heat up, but nothing worked. We decided to just take hot showers and jump in bed, only to find that there was no hot water. I sent a message through VRBO to ask for help, but by morning there was still no heat and no reply.
I ended up tracking down a telephone (am I the only one who relies on WiFi when traveling internationally?) and calling the caretaker. He arrived late that evening (so no heat/hot water all day) and was easily able to fix a problem with the boiler. So, problem solved, but we never heard back from the owner/manager, though I sent multiple messages specifically asking for a reply.
A couple other things, that I wouldn't bother to mention if it wasn't for the lack of communication:
- The flat is not labeled in any way, even with an address or unit number. The street door has no number (identified because it was the next in order), and the two interior doors to the unit were only identifiable because the keys didn't fit in the other doors. Late in the evening, it felt pretty creepy to be trying keys in random doors.
- When we arrived, the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and the toilet had cleaner in it but hadn't been scrubbed. Seemed like the cleaner didn't quite finish up. No problem, we just ran the dishwasher.
Bottom line: the place was fine and if the boiler hadn't gone out, or if the owner/manager had replied to even one of my messages, this would have been a 5-star review. But when I use an interface like VRBO, I expect good communication through this interface. I wouldn't deal with this owner again.
We cannot apologise enough for Amy's experience during her recent stay in our Mews Flat. That particular weekend we had experienced a death in our family and were very much occupied in other areas. The whole family had to fly to Italy for the funeral! Unfortunately, this resulted in us not being reachable on the day in question. We hope that nothing like this will happen again. As you will note, all of our previous and successive reviews have been excellent. Please, Amy, should you be back in London on a future date we will be happy to offer you a substantial discount in order to make up for the discomfort of your first few days in the flat! PS We have noted your criticism with regard to the keys (and lack of identifying number on the front door) and will endeavour to put that right immediately.
Enjoyed the stay in this clean lovely apartment. It was nice to have 2 bedrooms with a kitchen and washer and dryer. Linens were cleaned by the staff once a week which was very nice for a long term stay. Location near paddington station was very convenient. Plenty of restaurants also in the area. Beds were comfortable too. Would recommend this apartment for others. It was very quiet also. The only negative would be that instructions for appliances should be left in the apartment and instructions for the shower also. It was a bit different then what we were used to. We did email Maria and she emailed us back with instructions. Overall a lovely stay!
Attended a conference near the flat and shared the flat with a colleague. It was ideal for this purpose --- it was clean, quiet, simply but nicely furnished, and perfectly located both for the conference and for exploration of London.
