Located in beautiful Lake Elmore. Year round house is very comfortable. Single level and attached garage make it ideal for elderly family members. Large deck with sun room and screened in room overlooking water makes for plenty of space to enjoy the views of the mountain or watch your children while they swim. 4 person hot tub on deck, charcoal weber grill, canoe, plenty of shade, wonderful 30' dock. House sits on 1 mile long dirt road which is great for walking or riding bikes, and you don't have to worry about the kids too much. Go hiking on Mt. Elmore, or go to the beach at the state park and rent a paddle boat or kayak. Take a walk less than a mile to the Elmore store for supplies, lunch, or an ice cream cone. 15 min. to Stowe, 30 min. to Montpelier.

Beautiful in the fall
The location was amazing and the view and foliage this time of year was remarkable. The only down sides were the small back yard is on a hill making it dangerous for small children, drunk adults, and/or dogs who can slip into the water rather easily! ( my dog fell in twice but luckily liked it! Lol) also odd that they do require you to wash your own linens and towels, which I have never seen from other houses on home away, but still require you to pay a maintenance fee for a cleaning company. This should be lowered or removed if I’m required to do most of the work. But over all great experience and would go back!
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review of our Vermont lake house. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and that you would come back again. Unlike most lake houses we are lucky enough to have a concrete bulkhead at the water spanning most of our property. It is about three and half feet wide and twenty five feet long. It is pretty much like a side walk usually no more that 12 inches above the water line. the water is normally 12-18 inches deep at the concrete and less than four feet deep at the end of the dock which is 30 feet long. The bottom is mainly weed free and gravel in that area. this makes for great swimming and playing for kids and dogs alike. For the 20 years we have been renting the house to families we have heard time and time again that we have a great shoreline for children and that the dogs always have fun. Of course at a lake house children should never be permitted to be outside without a responsible adult because it just takes one second for accidents to happen, no matter what the circumstance. Please take a look at the photos we have before renting, they show the shoreline well so you can see if it works for you. Remember if the water gets chilly the hot tub is just steps away on the deck. We also have a agreement that you sign before renting that states what is expected of the tenants, so you know before you rent. It's good to read this so you have no surprises. I try to make the only surprise tenants have is how much better the house is than they expected, just read through all the positive reviews. I want to give a big thank you to all the families that have enjoyed and stayed at our families lake house over the years and an extra big thank you to the ones that come year after year. Summer 2018 was a great Vermont summer and I hope to see a lot of you again next year.
This place was amazing! Exactly as pictured, beautiful house on a beautiful lake. My husband and I took 4 teens to VT for some rock climbing at Smugglers Notch and we used Paul’s place as our base. It was so awesome sitting on the back deck and watching the water, listening to occasional loons. Property was clean and owner response time excellent. Definitely recommend this place.
Great Lake house for families!
We’ve spent a lovely week here for four years in a row now and just love coming back! The hot tub is fantastic with an amazing view of the lake. The house is kid and dog friendly. The lake is perfect for young swimmers - deep enough to learn to jump off the end of the dock, shallow enough that everybody can stand safely in a large swimming area in front of the house. Two kayaks, new this year, are awesome for a paddle out to watch the loons and kingfishers. We will be back!
15 wonderful years
We have been enjoying Paul's wonderful lake cottage for many years ! It is peaceful , and inviting , with a lovely porch --you can watch the loons and the geese , read , or take a naps . The inside has been constantly up-graded--new kitchen and bath , bunk room , hot tub , and refurbished bedrooms . A great place to create lasting memories .
The lake is lovely--my husband sails a small boat every day .
Continued excellent property
This house continues to be a great vacation rental. We stayed here last year and were happy to be able to return. The house is really well maintained, has everything you'd need, and is an easy drive to many of Vermont's best tourist spots. We'll definitely look to stay here again.
Lots of outdoor activities in the area. Three ski resorts with 4 season fun, (Stowe, Smugglers Notch, Jay Peak) Lots of lakes, Mountains, water park, antique stores.
