This recently renovated home on Playa La Chata offers amazing views of Puerto Rico, Culebra, and St. Thomas. The entire property is fenced in with your own private gate to the beach. The sound of lapping waves, trade wind breezes, and coquis will fill your senses. The ocean is just steps off the patio. Walk the beach and enjoy spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Vieques is a beautiful island with countless beaches to explore. La Chata Beach House is just minutes from the main barrio of Isabel Segunda, with its grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. The Wildlife Refuge with more beautiful beaches is a 20 minute drive. This spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is perfect for a private getaway for 2 couples. Take in breathtaking views of the ocean and the nearby islands from the open-floor-plan living room/dining room/kitchen through French doors to the terraces, and the convenience of a washer, dryer, and dishwasher. There is a patio grill to prepare some Caribbean lobster from the local Pescaderia (fresh fish market). Open the doors and windows and enjoy the ever-present breezes flowing through. The master bedroom has ocean views, a queen bed, and en suite bathroom. The spacious second bedroom has a king bed and a full bathroom across the hall. The entire home has a/c. Rinse off in our outdoor shower after an ocean swim or snorkel. Come explore Vieques and stay in one of the few oceanfront homes. Our beaches are incredible, our Bio-Luminescent Bay is one of the brightest in the world, and the roaming horses will charm and entertain you, as will the occasional iguana. Vieques is truly an enchanted tropical island and we look forward to welcoming you to La Chata Beach House! This property is for adults only.

Amazing house, right on the beach

This property is super clean, modern, and right on the beach. Great kitchen, great views, lots of yard space, complete with hammock. We had a very enjoyable time here and would certainly come back again.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The kitchen and bathrooms are well equipment and styled with great design. The house is steps away from your own private beach and the water is perfect for all the snorkeling activities.

The home and property are even more beautiful than pictured. It was extremely clean, had great amenities and the views are unbelievable- it’s truly your own private oasis. Betty was incredibly kinda, knowledgeable and accommodating! We would definitely stay here again.

Awesome retreat

My husband and I visited Vieques and fell in love with this beach house and island. Absolutely one of the most magical times I've spent on vacation. La Chata provides privacy but is located in a convenient area. The food in town is excellent, the locals are wonderful, the snorkeling is extensive. We'll be back.

La Chata Beach House is fabulous

What a fantastic stay. We met Miles right after we landed and he gave us the tour and let us settle in. The place is beautiful. Very modern and comfortable. The views are second to none and it has a terrific covered porch where we spent most of our time. The beach house is a close drive to town and many beaches. We have such a wonderful and relaxing week!

Would gladly stay here again

This property is just as advertised. The home is nice and modern. Property has an electronic gate on front entrance and it’s own gated access to the beach, so it’s feels very private. Located right on the water on a very nice beach. Also very conveniently located to everything in Isabel, and only 15-20 minutes from everything in Esperanza. Very much recommend!!

Epic Experience!

La Chata Beach House is everything you want it to be - location, accomodations, access, beachfront, sea glass, wild horses and the friendliest of people! Betty is a great host and Vieques is a dream island. If you are looking for true relaxation with the most incredible beaches with little touristy spots- look no further! We cannot recommend staying here more. We will be back!

Could not have been better

Exceptionally clean and impeccably appointed, our stay was outstanding. We very much enjoyed the “front yard” and the beautiful landscaping of the property. The owners have truly designed a home they would spend time in and decorated it in a sleek and minimalistic way that induces relaxation and calm. Betty and Miles were exceptional - excellent communication and responsiveness. I highly recommend this property, one of the best we have ever stayed.

Perfection!

La Chata and Vieques blew away our expectations, The home is immaculate and the perfect size for two couples. Very quiet neighborhood, the views are stunning and we loved the direct access to the beach from the property. Vieques itself is beautiful and the locals are so kind and welcoming. Betty was helpful and responsive, answering any questions we had immediately. There isn’t a negative thing I can say about our experience. Book this little slice of heaven before it’s too late!

La Chata Beach House is a dream come true for Brett and Lex, they have always dreamed of owning an oceanfront home. Brett grew up in South Florida, the beach has always been a central part of his life and since childhood he has dreamed of a home on the ocean. Lex grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, but since college he has been located on the East Coast. They live in Miami Beach with their daughter Mattie Holiday and their Yorkie, Pip Aquino. Betty and Miles Gilreath are the on island Property Managers, they will be communicating with you in regards to bookings, reservations and check-ins.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

The family discovered the beauty of Vieques on a spring break trip in 2013 and after more visits to the island they fell in love with the property and made it their second home in early 2017. They have since done a complete renovation to the home and have now named it La Chata Beach House, it was formerly named Casa del Marullo. The family visits as often as they can, but Lex's work running the North American Operations for a clothing retailer and Brett's work as a trial lawyer keep them very busy, giving their guests the great opportunity to experience the joy and tranquility of this Caribbean gem. The family looks forward to doing updates and upgrades to the home and landscape as their new adventure unfolds. Renovations were completed in January 2019!!
