Islander #713

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the 4th time in a row that I have come down on the same weekend (Labor Day) to stay. I love the Islander resort because it's centrally located by many places I go to every year via shopping and restaurants. I chose this unit due to the first impressions of photos. I'm a single solo traveler and I only literally used the kitchen, master bedroom and bathroom because that is all I needed. Most of the time was to sleep or clean up. I especially loved the master bathroom layout for putting out all my toiletries, the dry conveniently attached to the wall was nice. I am a beach lover and I live on the beach while I'm there and ALWAYS enjoy seeing Allen still handling the chairs and umbrella. Looks like they have been updating the place, painting, new elevator, and vending machines in the main lobby, great addition. I continuing coming to this place in the future and maybe try a different time of the year. Weather can be unpredictable during Labor Day. It was a lovely condo and well taken care of and would book this unit again in a heartbeat if it's available next time!

Amazing

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was amazing as always. Except that we found out our dear Alan no longer was there to great us, my kids look forward to coming to Destin to see their beach buddy very very disappointed he was not there. The other thing is the elevator not in service, and some staff not very friendly. Other than that everything was good. I do have suggestions plz new mattress for twin beds pay high price to rent not to have good mattresses. Plz bring our beach buddy back.
Response from VrboOwner on Aug 12, 2025

Your feedback about the mattresses and the elevator is helpful, and we’ll share it with the right teams. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back for more wonderful Destin memories!

Beach Vacay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time at The Islander. We love it there. The one thing I would change/complain about is the linen situation. There should be more towels and wash cloths available for renters. I should not have to worry about making it to linen exchange 2 days a week or have to wash linens when I’m paying a great deal of money to rent a condo. The linen situation needs to be reevaluated.

Perfect Getaway

Last minute booking hit the spot for 4th of July. The Islander is perfectly located away from the hustle of the main strip but not far, excellent for relaxing is very well ran, beautifully maintained and the staff is very attentive with a phone call to the front desk. The rental was clean and had beach toys, extra chair and wave boards in the closet. Have your early riser go choose your umbrella and chairs that comes with the property. Every Thursday in the busy season the city has fireworks off the harbor and this balcony has the best view of it!! Decor was coastal and updated with stocked kitchen. Stove needs an update but works. The only thing missing is a washer and dryer since it’s a quick walk to the beach and pool, towels get wet often-but we made it work! Very slow response through VBRO host messaging. You need to just call The Islander front desk and they will answer your questions faster. We will return for sure!

It wasn't clean

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the first review i've ever given but i need to. Our stay there was nice bc of the location, everything we needed to do was within 3-4 miles so not bad. The beach was nice despite the weather. However, i HAVE to comment on the housekeeping... it was dusty.. i wasnt expecting that bc we had just arrived, im glad i brought my sheets bc i didnt feel comfortable sleeping on their sheets. The bathroom was not cleaned properly, i think they should start checking behind the housekeeper bc it was picked but not clean. The floor honestly hadnt been mopped bc our socks got so dirty. There was dust under the furniture, like they hadn't cleaned in a while. Idk why it was so dirty. The staff was great and so was the location. We normally stay at the Breakers but wanted to try a new place... brakers is always clean.
Response from VrboOwner on Mar 31, 2020
Thank you so much for your feedback. We apologize for the uncleanliness of the condo, we have replaced that company and now have a great cleaning crew here at the Islander. We hope when you travel to Destin, you’ll let us know when you’re coming and we can reserve your favorite condo!

A Delightful Time Away !

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a very good week at the beach in early May. The weather was nearly perfect with only 1 rainy day. The room was very comfortable and well decorated. We have stayed at The Islander most years...for the past 30 years. The staff are friendly and helpful. The flooring in our unit was more comfortable than ceramic tile flooring...a plus for us. We will be back!

Huntley Review of Room 713

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay in room 713 and had a blast. The only things I would recommend is replacing the toaster (only toasted on one side) and the coil burners on the stove. The coil burners (which I do not like anyway) became dislodged easily when cooking. Thanks for a great vacation!!!
