Casa Grande, the main house on Rancho Danza del Sol, is an amazing two bedroom, two bath beautiful casa and is located by the tennis court and swimming pool of the Ranch. Casa Grande is this elegant big brick house with high ceilings and big glass doors that open out like barn doors. So the whole house can be opened and breezes flow through all day. The seating areas around the house are magical with views of the mango trees, tennis court, swimming pool and the driveway. It's really beautiful and in the morning there are hundreds of doves cooing and in the evening a couple of our owls talk to each other across the property.
Casa Grande has a king, four post bed upstairs and a king bed downstairs. Casa Grande is one of four casitas located on property Rancho Danza del Sol.
*You can rent the WHOLE RANCH or any ONE or MORE of the four casitas. Check out our listings:
- Rancho Danza del Sol - ENTIRE RANCH; (rent entire ranch of four casas), have the whole ranch privately yours! Sleeps 16-24, or
- CASA ABUELOS located on Rancho Danza del Sol, 2-bdrm, 2 bath, or
- CASA ARBOL located on Rancho Danza del Sol, (it’s an amazing tree house) with 3 single beds with full kitchen, shower, bathroom, or
- CASA CABALLOS located on Rancho Danza del Sol, 1-bdrm, king bed, with sweetest outdoor kitchen.
The ranch is like Narnia! It was built as a retreat over 25 years. It has a peaceful and serene energy that makes everyone feel like they are part of something special. It's so amazing for exploring fun and we have a friendly open policy for guests to be able to use the swimming pool, tennis court and walk through the trees just exploring. The casitas are all about 50 yards apart. The ranch and the casitas have never been about the money. The ranch is about people who want to experience something special. After all, it's a working mango ranch! Why rent just a house with a small yard when you can rent an amazing house and when you walk outside you’re blown away because you part of a 25 acre mango ranch. The rescue dogs are a hige part of the ranch and every house. They greet you. Hang out with you and tell you their stories. Amazing. In the early mornings, there are hundreds of doves calling you. It's incredible the life we have with 600 trees! Evenings can be spent with our fire pits with crackling wood. We provide endless firewood and Firepits are a huge part of us. Evenings spent around the fire in the Baja are magical for connecting with others. And the nights can be chilly here at 60 degrees low. The tennis court is grass and easy on the knees. The nicest court in the Baja. Again, The rescue dogs are sooooo wonderful and everyone loves them and no guests want to leave. the serene energy of the ranch heals all. Including humans. The beach is literally a couple hundred yards - just the perfect distance. Believe me, you don't want to live right on the Pacific Ocean. The Pacific Ocean can talk. It’s a cooler strong ocean. And the breezes at sunset can be chilly. When you're living right on the beach in Baja it's very barren from salt and cold breezes in the late afternoon. It's a fun 200 yard walk to the beach down our driveway and then a small dirt road surrounded by flowers. Coming back to the warm ranch always feels good.
The Esquina Restaurant is only 400 yards away and they have some of the best food! Garden to table, mango smoothies, tortilla soup, and yummy raised oatmeal cookies. They also have a yoga center with punch card. Right there is also Pacifica fish tacos with the best fish tacos ever. And there’s also an authentic farmers fruit and vegetable shack. So, we are located perfectly close to the town. Also Pacific Fish Tacos with their insanely good tacos. And also right next to us is Logan Logan with the best grilled tuna burgers and poke bowls.
The ranch took 25 years to build and i built it as a retreat. You’ll be blown away as it’s the nicest property in the whole area. Welcome to Narnia Saludos dirk

We had the most magical stay at the ranch. Located just a few minutes from town, it was an oasis! The house and grounds were beautiful, and Dirk & Kian were the best hosts. We loved spending time with all the rescue dogs, playing tennis in the mornings, and reading in all the cozy outdoor alcoves. Such a relaxing stay and we can’t wait to be back!
Host was super attentive and made every possible attempt to make sure you have everything you need. The place is an amazing place to disconnect from the busy city life. Me and my brother spend our birthday here with family and we all loved it. The place come with a number of super cute, and very but very polite rescue dogs that add to the warmth of the place. You will feel like you are in a Narnia movie with the nature animals at this place. Bring mosquito repellent, there were a couple of mosquitos just flying around. Everything was very clean. It was a successful experience for me and my family. They have a very special and cool operation here.
My wife and I are huge fans of the Lychee farm! Owner is super helpful - spot is incredible. Big fans and the spot could easily accommodate a larger group.
It was a very serene and tranquil location. Away from the hustle of town, but close enough to be accessible. It’s definitely for someone who likes the doors open, likes the dogs hanging out,We stayed in the big houseVery nicely appointed. Rustic and casual. 15 minute walk to beautiful beachThe owner answered all questions promptly,.
We really enjoyed our time at Casa Grande. Dirk was really patient and helpful with the directions and got us there in the dark! The house was beautiful and all the views so peaceful & romantic. We especially enjoyed a set of tennis in that amazing court, and having a variety of sweet doggos to greet us and hang out. Thank you!

Great property, really cool vibe there. Communication was great. It's Baja, so there are some critters in the house, mice, lizards, etc. Place could use some updates/repairs, but great if you want a hippie commune vibe at a good price.

Hey Matthew. I kinda knew it. But 3 stars? Bummer. The guest after you never wanted to leave. Said it was the best experience of her life And, We took such good care of you and your two nonstop crying twin babies. Got you fresh towels. Got rid of your diaper buckets. Cleaned where your kids had broken stuff. our house looked so out of control, yikes. I could tell the whole time our totally amazing vibe and Narnia wasnt yours since you had the entire house closed the whole time. I would recommend a hotel for you, but I don’t know if a hotel could handle that much crying and noise from those babies. You never sat outside. No walks. Bro the whole place is narnia. . I don’t understand why you just stayed indoor the whole time while at the ranch with the doors closed. it’s not for you bro. . PS. Those are geckos. Not lizards. Geckos are cute as hell and do nothing There were no mice for a fact! Rarely, we have a mouse. But it’s rare because of all the activity and the rescue doggies. After all it’s a 25 acre bountiful mango farm. Good luck amigo
Our family of four stayed in Casa Grande for two nights and our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! We absolutely loved "the ranch" and the hosts were so welcoming and accommodating. We even got to eat fresh coconuts as we watched them harvested from the tree! Our kids fell in love with the very sweet rescue dogs and we enjoyed the communal fire pit and walking to a beautiful quiet beach. The ranch is a safe and beautiful retreat. We will definitely be back and for longer next time!
My husband and I, along with two friends, stayed at the Casa Grande house for four nights. It is the perfect space for two couples. Dirk was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and Desi is also close by and helped in any way she could. The rescue dogs are so sweet and made us feel like we were at home when they greeted us each day. Be sure to buy a few hot dogs at the Mercado--they love being spoiled with special treats.
Staying at the Mango Ranch in Todos Santos was an extraordinary experience. We were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves... a serene retreat surrounded by lush groves, a grass tennis court, and a swimming pool. We had fast WiFi too which was great for work. The location was fantastic. We loved the palm trees and the sounds of nature around the clock. It was magical. The kids loved the rescue dogs on the property. A heaven of tranquility. What an awesome experience.
Our family of 4 had a great time in casa grande and exploring the beautiful property. We got to meet the sweet full time inhabitants - 6 amazing and chill dogs. Out 6 year old said the little terrier is his new best friend. 3 dogs joined us on beach walks, we played tennis on the property, watched sun rises and sunsets together and we're able to disconnect and relax. Communication with the property manager was amazing. Easy to reach - very kind and thoughtful and he has all the great tips. Just ask him!
My husband and I stayed at the Casa Grande on the Rancho Danza del Sol for 3 weeks and enjoyed every single minute of our time there. The host is wonderful and the on-site managers, Ruben and Deysi are there for you all the time.
The ranch is so peaceful and full of good soul! From waking in the morning to the sounds of song birds and cooing doves, to the evenings sitting by the outdoor fire watching the brilliant stars listening to Great Horned Owls , nothing can surpass Danza del Sol!
We will go back and want to stay forever, once again!
Our only regret in staying at Rancho Danza Del Sol is not staying longer! Five nights was not long enough. It took three to realize the gem that this house and property are! Deysi, the ranch and house manager was lovely. And the owners Dirk and Christina could not have been friendlier. We felt very welcome. We just needed a few more days. We will know better next time!
Characterful and Quirky
BTW, we are:
not new to travelling in Baja (20+years)
not new to being vacation rental landlords ourselves
not new to being flexible and accepting
not new to the Spanish language (one of us is fluent)
So, we stayed in Casa Grande for almost a week.
Just fine if you don't mind no privacy in one of the "bedrooms" and people looking down on you in the outside shower.
Just fine if you don't mind sitting outside on furniture that seconds as dog beds and that you observe dogs peeing on the filthy blankets / comforters that second as cushions ( yes I have photos!)
Just fine if you don't mind the total misadvertising on the website
Just fine if you don't mind sharing the one wine glass and using jam jars for the rest of you or the plastic drink cups
Just fine if you don't mind using the same (old beach) towels in the bathrooms all week
Just fine if you don't mind running out of drinking water two days before you leave....
Just fine if the upstairs toilet leaks onto the floor
Just fine if nothing is really clean and the swimming pool is a risk better not taken.
This place could be wonderful...it has the bones. The smaller casas seem better but the place is lost and needs the time attention and care of the owner. It is really obvious.
The caretakers do the best they can but it's not a really restful place anymore....more a memory of what was.
Dude, you need to come down here and see it for yourself.....

Perhaps the most ludicrous review in history. Ok , let’s start with the outside shower…. Yes it’s open to the sky! That’s what makes it amazing. Who’s looking down at you? God? Umm he’s pretty much seen you. Lol. Ok, Dogs “peeing on our beautiful Mexican blankets that are on our outside furniture. hahaha. Ok, you just lost all credibility. So Deysi and Rubén can’t have kids. Those amazing doggies that EVERYONE loves ARE their kids. They get chicken/rice soup twice a week!. And Shampoo’d. Yes they rest on the outside furniture. But guests love hanging out with them. When deysi and Ruben heard what you wrote, they burst out laughing. Every single review says the opposite of you. They love the doggies! And invite them to sleep with them. We are totally ok with that. Also, the guests at the ranch who were there at the exact same time as you said the pool was glorious! And they swam every day in crystal clear water. Also, interesting, you have my personal cell. So you complain that you ran out of drinking water trying to make your review sound more dramatic. Like you were suddenly without drinking water. Hahaha. Please. You mean you ran out of the free 5 gallon big blue jug we provide? Just a text that you ran out, or a quick word to deysi and Ruben who live there on the ranch, and you would have had a fresh new jug. Towels? You say you had beach towels in bathrooms? Umm those are high quality clean bathroom towel sets. Deysi mentioned to me that as an elderly person you barely went outside. Sad. That you kept the house closed. Sad. It’s so amazing as an indoor/ outdoor living space all open to our mango trees. Did you eat any mangos? Nope. Bummer for you. All of these false attacks speak of vindictiveness and we don’t know why. Sad when people are like that. There’s no reason. You were literally in narnia, but you decided to stay indoors mostly. Oh yeah, wine glasses. Yes, we use jars now. Excuse me, but no one is more of a wine connoisseur than me. And fact is when we provide wine glasses with the tall stems they Always get broken by guests and since we have stone patios and stone floors that thin glass shatters in a way that’s very dangerous. And fact is wine in a glass jar or tumbler is how many in Sonoma county drink it. .sorry no mango box for you for Xmas. Better you stay in a hotel with long hallways and doors and a room key with artificial air. Saludos BigPapaDirk .
Our group of 4 stayed at Casa Grande for 4 nights, and would have loved to stay longer! The property is beautiful and there's plenty to entertain yourself with there - beautiful walk to the beach, basketball court, tennis, pool. The dogs are as sweet as can be, and are happy to be around guests. Thanks for the great stay, Dirk!
Beautiful property, the entrance lined with palms was breathtaking. We loved using the fire pit in the evening and listening to the ocean. We’ll be back and bring friends with us.
We had the best time. Very quiet but just out of town. Great nearby restaurants all of which were recommended by Dirk. Great communications with Dirk. Place is unusual but wonderful.
So first I will say that Dirk the property owner went ABOVE and BEYOND to adjust when Covid-19 hit last March 2020 right when our original stay was going to be. We rescheduled first for July of 2020 not even realizing at the time how much traveling in our world would change and FINALLY got our incredible vacation this last April. Dirk was understanding, flexible, and kind through it all! We love "off the beaten path" and non-commercial adventures. Many years ago we visited Todos Santos and always said we would return. It was all and more that we remembered and we will definitely be back! Casa Grande on the Ranch was just spectacular, we would get tickled when Dirk would refer to it as Narnia but it's definitely a fair description. The house was wonderful, the relaxing outdoor areas were so peaceful, the nighttime fire pit with the waves crashing in the distance were heaven, the doggies that live on the ranch made you feel right at home, and the local food close to the house was second to none! This house if off the beaten path but worth it! IF we could go back tomorrow my bags would be packed.
If you are looking for a serene stay environment that has an estate feel… This is for you! We stayed in the Casa rande which is a large beautifully made home with a surround porch and surround balcony. We slept in the upstairs bedroom which is huge and the view is among the treetops. Relax with some furry friends that make the stay homelike.
This was the perfect place to get away from the city and purely relax! We had a great time chillin’ with the dogs, sitting around the fires at night, and enjoying everything the grounds had to offer. I would love to come back with a big group and rent out the whole ranch. The hosts were great and did a wonderful job of making sure we had everything we needed. Muchos Gracias!! It was hard to go home.
