'Mulroe Studio' sleeps 2 and has a spacious double height living/dining room with a characterful mix of antique and modern furniture and a twin bedroom on a mezzanine floor. 'Mulroe Studio' has a charming kitchen with an old dresser, table and a modern free-standing gascooker with electric oven and a stylish, contemporary bathroom with bath/shower. The seaviews from the kitchen, living room and bedroom are stunning.



Mulroe Cove is a superb waterfront property and has a truly spectacular and uniquely private setting. It has its own private shingle beach which is only 5 metres from the house and spreads 0.5 km wide. It is a wonderful place to swim, kayak and fish or to stroll and relax on.

Due to its very sheltered position on the South side of the Dunmanus Bay, Mulroe is not only a superb seafront property, but is also set in 5 acres of mature gardens, which comprises a walled garden with Mediterranean and tropical plants as well as various areas of lawn with mature trees and a woodland with waterway. The woodland stretches over 0.5 miles from the house to the main road, thus lending the house a very private and tranquil setting.

At the far side of the beach the sea stretches into a beautiful wild marshland in which many different varieties of birds live and nest. This is a beautiful conservation area.

The house is a lovingly restored stone cottage set in the beautiful walled garden with wonderful sea views. It combines old with new, thus lending the house a timeless feel full of character.

The house consists of three separate rental units, the first, called 'The Artist's Studio' sleeps 2 people, the second, called 'Mulroe House' sleeps 4 and the third, "The Boathouse sleeps 4 .

'Mulroe Studio' sleeps two. It has a spacious double height living/dining room with a characterful mix of antique and modern furniture and a twin bedroom on a mezzanine floor. It has a charming kitchen with an old dresser, table and a free-standing modern gas-cooker with electric oven and a stylish, contemporary bathroom with bath/shower. It is possible to sleep a third person on the bedsofa in the living room.

'Mulroe House' sleeps four and has a comfy feel. It consists of a double and twin bedroom, a separate bathroom with bath/shower facilities, a cosy kitchen with dining area and a living room with a beautiful old stone fireplace and old corner cupboard. It is stylishly furnished with old and new furniture.

Both units can also be combined to make one large unit that sleeps 6.

The owners live in a separate house on the property.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Mullrow cove, Durrus, County Cork, Ireland, however it turned a little sour to say the least when I was asked to pay 55 euros for cleaning by the owner. This, I thought I had already paid? I paid 454 euros for 7 nights stay and 55 euros for services of which i thought was for the cleaning. It seems a little coincidental that I was billed 55euros for cleaning by the owner and 55 euros by yourselves. I paid 509 euros to you.....if it is the case that the 55 euros was for cleaning, what is the 55 euros you have received from me, for? Would appreciate a response. Kind regards M S DENWOOD

Urlaub auf der grünen Insel

Unser Aufenthalt war wirklich super, die Lage war wundervoll und die Ferienwohnung selbst Perfekt. Wir hatten schöne und vor allem ruhige Tage. Unsere Gastgeberin ( sie sprach sehr gut Deutsch ) war freundlich, zuvorkommend und Hilfsbereit. Sollten wir noch einmal nach Irland reisen, werden wir ganz sicher die gleiche Location mieten. Alleine die Abgeschiedenheit von der Zivilisation ist ein großer Bonus, das Leben steht dort still und die Natur ist Greifbar.

Prachtige omgeving aan het meer!

Ons verblijf was op zich prima. De studio zag er leuk uit en alles was aanwezig. Vooral het uitzicht over het meer was geweldig, het meer zelf erg leuk voor de kinderen. Ik vind het jammer dat de studio niet echt schoon was… Hoe de badkamer en keuken eruit zagen was in mijn ogen verre van schoon; vuile vloer, veel vieze roestplekken, tegelvoegen heel geel, handvatten van de keukenkastjes plakkerig en zelfs de spinnenwebben zaten erop. Ook de waterkoker was echt heel vies aan de binnenkant dus heb ik uitgekookt met azijn. De gastvrouw was wel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam, alleen het schoonmaken zou beter kunnen, zeker gezien we schoonmaakkosten betalen.

Tolles Wohnung für 2 Personen in extrem schöner Lage am Meer

Durch die tolle Lage sind die Wege zu den sehenswerten Plätzen nie wirklich weit. Man braucht unbedingt einen PKW, erreicht aber alles schnell und unkompliziert. Das kleine Haus ist gut ausgestattet und bietet für 2 wirklich genau Platz. Jedoch ist es nicht barrierefrei. Die Eigentümerin ist sehr nett, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Die direkte Lage am Wasser ist toll zum Schwimmen und Kanufahren. Eine sehr schöne Gartenankage hat viele gemütliche Sitzecken.

Super endroit dans la baie de Durrus!

L'emplacement du gîte est super, vraiment au bord de la plage dans une petite baie. On s'est baigné et on a fait un petit tour de kayak. Stéphanie, la propriétaire est très accueillante et à l'écoute et nous avons passé une semaine formidable.

Alles was wir uns von der Lage direkt am Wasser erhofft hatten wurde erfüllt. Das Studio hat alles was mann braucht um es sich zu zweit gemütlich zu machen. Die Ruhe und die Nähe zum Wasser haben wir sehr genossen. Stephanie war eine aufmerksame Gastgeberin. Gern werden wir wieder kommen.

Better than Advertised

I stayed here for a month and was so pleased with my choice! It is such an aesthetic studio and a peaceful property...and the photos don't do it justice. Also, Stephanie went above and beyond by helping me navigate a tricky car rental scenario as well as in many other ways that made me very thankful for selecting this property. I would definitely come back!

ein traumhafter Ort

Es war ein zauberhater Ort, ein wunderschöner Garten, ein direkter Zugang zum Wasser, ein sehr gut eingerichtetes Studio, so richtig zum Wohlfühlen. Auch die Umgebung ist wunderschön. Wunderschön an einer Bucht gelegen

Für zwei Personen ist das Studio optimal. Die Lage ist super, direkt am Wasser aber trotzdem sind Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Ein Auto ist aber erforderlich.

Perfect place to explore a little slice of Heaven!

We were looking for a quiet place to have quality time together and still explore the most magnificent part of Ireland. Stephanie's travel recommendations were spot on. The location was idea for traveling all directions and feeling we took in the best of both worlds, relaxing and site seeing. We loved the studio. It was quaint and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the beach or on the lawn. We had access to whatever we wanted. I can't say enough about how fabulous Stephanie and her family were to deal with, super friendly. Einfach wunderschön!!!

Wir wohnten eine Woche im Waterfront House und waren begeistert! Die Inneneinrichtung ist unglaublich schön, beim Essen, Schlafen und im Wohnzimmer hat man einen gigantischen Ausblick auf die Bucht und das Meer und diverse Wasservögel. Stephanie ist einfach nur toll und stand uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, sodass wir unvergessliche Ausflüge nach Bantry, ans Meer und auf Berge machen konnten. Es ließ sich wunderbar im Garten oder auf dem Mäuerchen mit Meerblick entspannen und essen. Ein Aufenthalt bei Stephanie, ihren beiden Jungs und dem Starhund Toby ist wirklich nur zu empfehlen! P.S. für Wanderungen empfehlen sich wasserdichte Wanderschuhe, auch bei schönem Wetter :)

Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder!

Wer dringend mal Ruhe und Besinnung braucht, ist hier allerbestens aufgehoben. Vom Studio hatten wir einen fantastischen Ausblick auf die davor liegende Bucht mit Seehunden, Austernbänken, Fischerbötchen und vielen Seevögeln. Stephanie ist eine ganz zauberhafte Vermieterin, kennt tolle Tipps in der Umgebung und sorgt dafür, dass das Feriendomizil zur Heimat wird. Nach einem kurzen Gespräch hat man das Gefühl, sie schon seit Jahren zu kennen. Ihre beiden Jungs sind tolle Burschen und nicht zu vergessen: Toby...unser Beschützerhund und Schmusetier. Das Studio ist vollkommen ausreichend für 2 Personen, es war mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht (wir sind große Fans des Gasherdes!!!) :-D Ein Auto ist hier absolut notwendig, das Anwesen liegt recht einsam in der wunderschönen Bucht. Dafür garantiert es Stille, Natur und Besinnlichkeit. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in der Stadt Bantry, dort wird auch gerade ein großer Supermark gebaut und einige km weiter bekommt Glengarriff einen Lidl. Vermutlich wird wohl beides 2018 eröffnet. Alles in allem hatten wir eine wundervolle Zeit und mit Regen und Sturm muss man gelegenlich rechnen, wir hatten uns vorher wasserdicht eingekleidet. :-) Irland ist ein Traum, den jeder Naturliebhaber kennenlernen sollte und die Iren sind ein wirklich sehr gastfreundliches Volk, wir haben uns überall herzlich willkommen gefühlt. Auch wenn es mit unserem übrig gebliebenen Schulenglisch öfter mal haperte, sind die Iren sehr bemüht, eine nette Unterhaltung zu führen. :-) Danke, Stephanie, für die schöne Zeit bei Dir!

Love on first sight - and on the last, too

Yeahh: truth be spoken: this is it! Be you a writer or a painter, a yogi, a tired Business person or someone, who likes peace, you are right - right here. After enjoying approaching through a romantic site, we stepped into the house and just loooooooovvvvvved the very, very old furniture mixed with fancy modern stuff, everything utterly comfortable and the extra treat: enough lamps to read!! The view is stunning, and if you are a night owl, you see more stars than you thought, there were... A short trip away are lots of villages and towns, colorful and filled with the nicest people, art, music, pubs and going-ons, let alone the Ring of Beara (instead of Kerry). Last but not least: to talk to Stephanie was a treat in itself - great and absolutely interesting person. Please trust me: this place you can really enjoy, unless you Need gee-gaw, huge sandy beaches and distraction from morning to night right next to you...

Perfect week is a very relaxing and quiet place!!!

Ein gute Wahl!

Mulroe Cove - House ist ein attraktives und gemütliches Haus wo mann sich richtig wohlfühlen kann. Der Garten ist herrlich mit vielen schönen Ecken zum lesen oder einfach die Aussicht zu geniessen. In der Umgebung gibt es genug zu sehen, man kann schöne Wanderungen machen und wer möchte ist in einer guten Stunde in Cork. Was einen Aufenthalt in Mulroe Cove aber vor allen Dingen auch sehr angenehm macht ist Stephanie, unsere Landlady. Sie ist herzlich, sehr hilfsbereit und vor allen Dingen sehr sich selbst. Mulroe Cove House, aber eben so das Boatshouse und das Studio können wir jedem sehr empfehlen.

Irland ist der beste Platz der Welt…

… und wenn die Sonne scheint ist es das Paradies. Sagen die Iren und sie haben Recht! Wir waren eine Woche im September in Mulroe Cove und haben das Land und die Menschen genossen. Ein schönes Haus, gut ausgestattet mit allem was wir brauchten, einer ausgesprochen netten Vermieterin und absolut idyllisch gelegen. Die Anreise über Cork ist ideal – sonntags oder mittwochs mit Aer Lingus über Düsseldorf ist man mit dem Mietwagen in anderthalb Stunden vor Ort. Ohne Auto geht nichts. Das Einkaufen am Abend der Ankunft ist kein Problem, da man im erzkatholischen Irland alles was man braucht auch sonntags kaufen kann. In Supermärkten auf der Route oder an Tankstellen gibt es bei der Anreise aus Cork alles was man abends und morgens noch braucht auch am Sonntagabend noch zu kaufen. Man reist mit kleinem Gepäck weil im Haus Bettwäsche und Handtücher vor Ort sind. Das war für uns ein Pfund mit dem sich ausgesprochen gut wuchern ließ. Leider hatten wir etwas Pech mit dem Wetter That’s why they call it the Wild Atlantik Way and not the Calm Atlantik Way war die lakonische Antwort von Mack mit dem ich in Bantry auf dem Pier stand und Makrelen gefangen habe. Und doch gab es Tage die sich wie Paradies anfühlten weil die Sonne schien. Tipp: Unbedingt bei gutem Wetter nach Mizen Head fahren, früh da sein und sich von der Brandung, die da mit gewaltigem Donnern auf die Klippen kracht, überwältigen lassen. Der kräftige Wind am Tag vorher hatte also auch seine guten Seiten. Wir werden auf jeden Fall noch mal hinfahren und freuen uns jetzt schon drauf wieder in dem Bootshaus zu wohnen.
