Lovely Apartment

Winter Gardens.We have two apartments two Three bedroom apartments sleeps 6 people ,This exciting development on Golf del Sur was completed in 2002, it features an all weather floodlit bowling green made to international standards. The apartment with 3 bedrooms is on the first floor, approached by either stairs or a lift, with a balcony which is south facing. On site there is a good sized swimming pool and children's pool adjoining. Two garages are available on the complex should you hire a car.
This complex is in a very quiet area with no more than 20 people using the sunbeds.
Out & about the region: Winter Gardens is approximately 15 minutes walk from San Blas Shops, Restaurants and live free entertainment. Near to the complex is an excellent Chinese restaurant, Tapas bar, very good fish restaurant and Irish bar. Something to suit everyone. A new marina is only 250 metres away. Situated at the nearby golf club is putting green, driving range and mini golf, there is also a tennis court. A short walk from San Blas is the fishing village called Los Abrigas where some of the finest seafood restaurants in Tenerife can be found. Because of the terrain this walk is only suitable in daylight. The nearest large beach is at El Medano about 4 miles away Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas is about 15 minutes drive away.
Beach towels available for 3 Euros per person but must be pre-booked.

Great location

The accommodation was ideal for 4 lady golfers. We were just a cross the road from Bistro27 ( brilliant )and Golden Bay Chinese restaurant ( very good). We had easy access to a walk overlooking the sea. John gave very detailed instructions and I felt I could chat if any queries.

Excellent Holiday

We had a fabulous holiday at a Winter Gardens,the location is ideal for walking along the seafront and to various restaurants and attractions This complex itself is very clean and spacious with a great pool with loads of loungers,a very good onsite bistro open all day and we enjoyed watching the experienced bowlers on the central green.The apartment was very spacious and well equipped with excellent large balcony where we spent most of our time in the fantastic weather!

Lovely spacious apartment

Stayed in this apartment for four nights. It's a real home from home and spotlessly clean. The balcony looks out onto the street which is great for people watching and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The apartment is a lot bigger than we anticipated and the area was nice and quiet of a night. All the instructions we were given in regards to picking up the key and use of the safe etc were spot on so everything went smoothly for our visit. Would defiantly recommend the complex, apartment and dealing with the owner John - thank you

Home from home

We (family of 5) have just returned from a fantastic 2 weeks staying at 27 Winter gardens. Right from the moment we booked John the owner was fantastic with keeping in touch by phone and email. He gave us every detail that we needed to make our arrival at the apartment effortless, which after a flight delay was just what we needed. The apartment is huge and so well equipped that it really was a home from home. We loved that the large balcony looked out to the restaurants so you could sit out with an early morning cuppa and watch everything come to life. Similarly in the evening it was lovely, whether we had a meal in or out that we could sit out and be entertained by the music from the restaurants over the road. It wasn't so loud that it was imposing though. The on-site restaurant was lovely and very reasonable, it was very handy since our flight was late on arriving, we just popped along to the best buys supermarket to get some essentials for breakfast and then had dinner at the Rendezvous restaurant onsite. We enjoyed eating at Bistro 27 right across the street. If your going into Los Christiania there's a gem of a restaurant right on the beachfront. Find the Burgerking and keep walking a couple of restaurants up to Terraza Del Sol. Food, drink and service were excellent. The pool at the apartments was big and not too busy and we met some lovely people. It was nice to be able to watch some of the bowling too. Having teenagers with us it was fantastic that we could get WiFi for them too, as anyone with teenagers knows it would have been a major operation to prize their devices away for a whole 2 weeks, it was quick, easy and cheap to set this up at the bowling reception. We truly had a fantastic time and hope to return again. Thanks John and Edwina for allowing us to use your amazing apartment, it was just what we needed

We knew Golf del Sur already and wanted to stay in a quieter area than Las Americas or Los Cristianos but with enough choice of bars/restaurants etc.to suit 3 generations. The apartment was bigger than any we have stayed in before and a great place to spend Christmas and New Year in the sun.It was clean and well-maintained The balcony was huge - big enough to both eat and sunbathe on and the pool on the complex was heated (!) and although not large,was never crowded. The balcony did overlook the main road which could be busy at times, but on the plus side, we were able to sit on the balcony with a drink and take advantage of the free entertainment at the restaurant opposite! We tried and enjoyed all the restaurants in the neighbourhood and it was nice to be able to avoid the traditional Christmas dinner in favour of Japanese food and a magnificent seafood meal on New Year's eve overlooking the sea. My 10-year old grandson particularly enjoyed going to the Irish bar next door where there were plenty of games available and lots of company. Would highly recommend the apartment for an extended family like ours. The reort is ideal for people who enjoy walking and don't particularly want to lie on a beach

Great escape from the best of a British winter!

We were looking forward to a revisit of Tenerife as it had been a while since we were last here....36 years to be precise! On first arrival we were very impressed with the location and ease of transfer, as Winter Gardens is about 10 minutes from the airport. The apartment was well appointed and being self catered it allowed us to enjoy alfresco dining in the sun, on the large balcony. The pool was a tranquil haven we used during the day, when we weren't exploring Teide and west coast areas. The location really served well as a great base to work from when visiting some of the sites around and about. The apartment was clean and nicely furnished and we could catch up on the news by watching the satellite TV. John helped us throughout the booking and helped arrange the hire car. During the evenings we ate out locally including the Bowls bars, Rendezvous, Wild Geese, Tappan-yaki Japanese restaurant: the Teppan experience is great for special occasion. All were good and provided a balance to suit all budgets. Overall we were very impressed with the apartment, the Country and the holiday and would definitely recommend friends and family book, we can't wait to come back and have already booked again for August. Disappointed

Upon arrival we were surprised to find the unit did not have a pool side view, as the photo implied. Instead, the balcony faced street side with loud entertainment from the restaurants nightly. The apartment furnishings were dated and the toilet seat in the ensuite bath was held together with duct tape. Not a hygenic solution! It would have been a nice touch to have a few amenities such as hand soap available to clean up after a long trip. Perhaps this is not a typical or perhaps we were spoiled by our previous week stay in Fuerteventura where we were greeted with champagne, fresh fruit.and baked goods as well as toiletries galore in the bathroom. The cost of internet was shock at 20 euros per device since the ad implied it was covered. This is more than we have paid anywhere in our wordly travels. The apartment is near restaurants and a lovely boardwalk. Pool was very nice. This would not be an apt. for anyone wanting beach access handy. Checkout time was not posted, nor was it in our contract. We like to respect checkout times, but when we arrived back at the apt to prepare to leave we found the cleaning staff had put our belongings in a heap in the hall, threw out food in fridge and refused to ket us use the bathroom even though it had not yet been cleaned. So make sure you find out when checkout time is. Car rental was advised and we agree with that. For our travel dollars we believe there are better places out there....unless you are a lawn bowler....the facility appeared to be very good.

Hi We are pleased you thought the pool ,bowls area and the surroundings are lovely and tidy and clean,Regarding the apartment having a pool side view nowhere on the website does it say we are near the pool,The music you refer to is from one restaurant only and finishes at 10.30 p.m. I am sorry you consider the furnishings dated , the sofas and the beds have all been renewed in the last two or three years and it was decorated 12 months ago and we have been complemented on their comfort. Disappointed, seems to have a real issue with a lack of soap, personally when we travel we always put a tablet of soap in our luggage.Surely the word self-catering speaks for it's self The shop opposite is open from 8 am every day till 10 pm,Nowhere on the website does it say free internet ,it was explained to the guest it is free at the Wilde Geese just up the road, Because of the shape of the toilet seat they have to be ordered from Spain with a 6 to 8 week delivery, their stay was two weeks into the order. The check out 10.30a.m. which is what most apartments and hotels have ,if we have nobody in that day guests can stay as long as they want but we did have guests arriving at 2 pm that day,Our manager said it was 12 am before they returned to finish packing

Another great holiday at Winter Gardens

Well another great holiday at 16 Winter gardens. Thank you John for renting out your apartment to us, your apartment is lovely and clean with everything you need. It is situated in a great location with the bowling green to the back, and the main street to the front which is great to watch the world go by. We decided to buy Bono tickets for the local buses which can save you up to 40% on the fares. We travelled to Los Gigantes which took us two hours but what a very picturesque village with the hills in the back ground and the wooden fronted buildings down at the harbour. In Golf del Sur try the Volcanic Islands for cocktails and Hans makes you very welcome. The Golf Park Italian restaurant is very nice and for a treat try Mama Roma which is a lovely new Italian restaurant along from Golf Park. All food is freshly made and very tasty. Thank you again John for keeping in touch with us, I feel us if I know you well even although we have never met Agnes P from Edinburgh

Nice and clean!

We can warmly recommend Golf del Sur Holiday Apartment! The owner is taking good care of you so you feel safe and secure and can be able to enjoy your stay without any worries. The place is quiet so you have the oppurtunity to relax and have fun with the family. Thats why it's a nice place to bring kids. It's clean and well maintained and actually we can't say any bad about it.

Lovely Spacious Apartment.

I would recommend this lovely apartment. We went with our two children plus my Mum and Dad and it met all our requirements. It has a large balcony, spacious rooms and fully equipped kitchen. The surrounding area was ideal for our young family with lots of restaurants and a brilliant Cabaret bar that we seemed to find our selves in most evenings. Thanks Jo

Wendy and Helen's review to winter gardens

Our stay at the winter gardens apartment was very pleasant and clean. The apartment had a cozy feel to it and had all the things we needed. The apartment has a lovely balcony with a view of the beach and the local shops and restaurants. Very peaceful and quiet. Local buses to los cristianos and las americos, very handy. Nice refreshing swimming pool on complex with plenty of deck chairs to sun bath.

Review of rental property 7616

The property is situated in a very good location and is part of the 'Winter Gardens Bowling Complex' which is extremely well maintained throughout.T he apartment has a good and practical layout comprising of a comfortable lounge, kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms with the added bonus of a balcony with views of the sea and towards the Marina. On arrival, we found the apartment was very clean with lots of storage space and it had all the necessary facilities for a comfortable self-catering holiday and it gave the two of us a feeling of 'home from home'. There is a Bistro Bar and restaurant on the complex with varied menus and competitive prices. Also, within walking distance there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Further along the coastal path towards San Blas there are many more eating places and wonderful fish restaurants can be found in Los Abrigos. The owner,John, offered very good customer service and any query at all could be answered before, during and after the holiday. All in all, it was a very enjoyable holiday and we would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to family and friends. J & T Leach

Sunny & Windy Winter Gardens

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment for four weeks in January and although the weather could have been better; we experienced very high winds, we still had a lovely holiday. The apartment is very well situated and is close to all amenities . We only cooked once as we found the local restaurants were very reasonably priced. We ate quite a lot in The Angus Steak House as their three course menu for 7.95 euros was excellent. We visited The Rendezvous restaurant on the complex twice during our stay and would highly recommend this for a special occasion or even just to treat yourselves as it isn't too expensive. We found the apartment clean, comfortable and very good value for money. Also having a washing machine was a great bonus. During our stay the old television was replaced with a new flat screen t.v. which was a nice surprise and a pleasure to watch. Thank you John for a lovely holiday and we understand that our friends have already booked for next year on our recommendation.

We bought two three bed apartments in 2002 and have recently refurbished all the bathrooms. In both apartments,we are close to shops and restaurants with the Rendezvous bistro on site,
The sea front is a 200 mts walk with lots of restaurants there
Winter Gardens is just 10 minutes from the airport
For short stays of 4 nights or less it is £100 per night minimum 3 nights

It’s a fairly quiet area with lots of restaurants nearby and plenty of of nice walks around the harbour and paths across the sea front

It’s quite spacious reasonable sized bedrooms and large lounge only 10 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from Las Americas
