Although Snowshoe Mountain is know for being one of the best Ski Resorts on the East Coast, there is so much else to do throughout the rest of the year.In the summer, there is mountain biking, hiking, swimming, golf and so much more.

The Greenbrier trail is just down the mountain to Cass, WV. It was an old railroad track that was turned to a 20 mile bike, hike or horsebackriding trail. Cass Railroad is a one of the last steam locomotive trains that take you on an 11 mile ride through beautiful WV mountains.

Raven Golf Club, The Gary Player Signature Raven Golf Club at Snowshoe Mountain Resort provides an impeccable course with gorgeous scenery every step of the way. Long fairways take advantage of the rolling terrain, some dropping as much as 200 feet from tee to landing.

Please visit website for information about so much more to do there.

Our 3 story Hutch is beautifully decorated with lots of charm & care to make your stay enjoyable.

When you walk in through the bottom floor, you enter a 'mud' room perfect for putting on & taking off, and storing your ski gear in a warm safe place. This is also where the full size 'new' W/D is located. You will then enter a door into the bottom level Master Suite. It is a perfect place for privacy to get away from the rest of the house, if need be. This room has a King size bed, a full desk with a phone line for computer hook up & a fax machine. There is a fireplace for romance & to warm up those chilly nights! The master bath on this level has a shower.

The middle level has a wrap around balcony for viewing those fabulous sunsets, the gorgeous views & the wildlife, deer, rabbits & even an occasional bear!

On this level is another master bedroom with a queen sized bed & a private bathroom w/ a tub. The second bedroom on this level has a full sized bed and a back entrance to the 3rd bath.

The newly renovated kitchen is fully equipped with Hickory cabinets, dishwasher, microwave & double door refrigerator w/ water & ice-maker in the door.

The dining room table has leaves & can seat 10. The living area faces the fireplace & overlooks the view down the mountain.

All bedrooms & living room have TV's & DVD players & the house is hooked to Satelite TV.

The loft has 2 twin beds.

After you park right in front of the Hutch, in our private parking area, you never really have to get back in your car again until you depart. The Snowshoe shuttle service stops approx 50 yards from the Hutch & provides free transportation to anywhere from the very top of the mountain, to the Village & into Silver Creek. You can ski from that same area on the Cupp, Shay's slopes(black & double black), or the other side where there are green & blue slopes. The lifts come up at that same area. Or you may choose to walk a 5-10 minute walk down a plowed lit path to the Village.

As many of you know, Snowshoe has expanded it's terrain for this season. Two new trails have been developed, both of which will be accessed by the new Soaring Eagle Express. The new slopes have increased the total number of Snowshoe's ski trails to 59.

There is also good news for Cupp Run and Shay's, if you haven't heard. There is a midway station under construction right now, which was how Cupp Run was originally set up. This will enable Snowshoe to open Cupp and Shay's early season, as they only have to make snow to the mid station, and will open the lower half when the cold weather supports snowmaking on the entire mountain. They have also enhanced their capability to make snow on these upper slopes with new equipment.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to say thank you for having us at your Hutch this past weekend. I speak for all of us when I say we had a great time and the accommodations were fantastic. We were very careful to be respectful of the house and trust that everything was left the way you would have expected. Thank you again.

This is our second year in a row staying at this property. It works perfect for us. Kitchen has most items needed for cooking in. Two master bedrooms with comfy beds. Can’t wait to go back.

The Sullivan Hutches are the best stay on the mtn!

  • 5 of 5

Ever since we discovered the Sullivan Hutches (Hutch 9 and Hutch 10), we check to see if they are available first whenever we are planning a trip to Snowshoe. We have a large group of skiers in our family with varying degrees of ability, and the location of the hutches offers something for everyone. While not technically a true ski-in/ski-out lodge, Cupp Run is only a very short hike away, and the Eastern territory with easier terrain for the little ones is just across and down the street. Both hutches have a most awesome lower laundry level designed to hold all damp ski gear and keep it out of the main living areas, which is great for us neat freaks! The Sullivan's properties are well-appointed with kitchen dishes/utensils and even a large crock pot so I can cook a huge meal while I am out on the slopes all day. The views from the back deck overlooking the Western territory just can't be beat; the sunsets are breathtaking. The beds and living spaces are very comfortable and welcoming. In short, the Sullivan Hutches are the place to be on Snowshoe.

Wonderful cabin on Western Territory slopes

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway. Had everything we needed for a group of 6 and could easily entertain more. Conveniently located on Western Territory and just a 5 minute walk to the village. Area was very quiet and private unlike the village. Parking was great. Views from deck were amazing, would definitely book again!

We loved our stay at the Hutch 10!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the hutch 10. Plenty of parking on snowshoe Dr next to the two parking spots assigned to the hutch 10. Plenty of space for 10 adults. The house was very cozy and warm and fire wood was provided for the fire place. The location was perfect! Walking distance to western territory and the slopes at snowshoe basin. Western territory was a rocks throw away and powder monkey was a five minute walk. The village was about a ten minute walk or less. The house was updated and interior decorations and wood paneling gave the house a cabin in the mountains vibe. Great view from the balcony. The mud room on the first level was great for all our snow gear and plenty of space for 10 snowboards/skis. Definitely would book this house again! Only thing I would mention is there weren’t 10 dinning table chairs, I think there was only 8.

Owner's Response: Thank you Becky for your response. For the dining chairs, it seems that sometimes guests put the extra chairs in the bedrooms. Sorry you missed them. We hope to hear from you again on your next trip to Snowshoe!

Very nicely appointed hutch. Great location.

  • 4 of 5

Hutch 10 is a very well appointed unit, the kitchen had all of the necessary cooking tools. Most units at Snowshoe have very little. Unit was clean and ready when we arrived that afternoon. You can almost ski in and and out directly to the basement door from Cupp Run. Great views and beautiful sunsets. Only problem we had was due to the severe cold - it was -30 with wind chill on our last morning and had been that way for half a day or so. The downstairs level of the hutch heat units could not keep up in that intense cold and the pipes froze. We left a message for maintenance and they were arriving just as we were leaving the hill. We would rent again, that severe cold is very unusual for Snowshoe Mountain, we have been coming for close to 20 years. Thanks Pam.

Owner's Response: Thank you Amy for your kind words. You are right, the extreme cold for that long period of time is unusual, but we are still going to add additional heaters for those extreme conditions. We look forward to hearing from you again in the future.

Clean, spacious, great views!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in Hutch 10! The house was decorated so nicely, just what you would want for a house on a mountain! We also found it very clean and enjoyed the amazing views! It was perfect for traveling with extended family, the loft upstairs was perfect for the kids. We were happy to find a blender and crockpot in the kitchen and found the kitchen easy to work in. We had beginner skiers in our group and found it to be a short walk to the slopes (the powder monkey lift). Would love to stay again!
