A perfectly relaxing stay full of rustic charm, with a view over the valley more than worth the winding climb up the north Tuscan hills. The ever-effusive Marina was very helpful and really made our stay special. The cure from the salt water pool is spectacular and this is only shared with one other holiday rental, so always plenty of tine and space to swim. We would gladly return!

Perfect place for discovering Toscany

This place let you dream with eyes open .The view is incredible, the houses are both perfect with everything inside and the terasses give you the oportunity to enjoy the view and the nature.The swimming pool is great also.All around you have very good restaurants (da Giomo my favorite) and the small village of Matraia is very nice and very close (great for bread and food).But the most attractive element is certainly Marina which will guide you in the region. We spend great vacations !!,

Family friendly gem in a quiet village

We had great time with Marina, Paolo. Before we arrived, Marina has prepared everything for my daughter. We even got a bottle of wine and home made fig jam upon our arrival. The villa itself is very beautiful with rustic Tuscany touch. It's extremely clean and equipped more than enough for a holiday villa. The location of the villa is on top of a hilly mountain. The driving isn't for fainted heart. But once you are used to it, its fine. The view is spectacular. It only takes 25mins to Lucca and an hour to beaches. Marina and Paolo are very friendly. They recommended us places for food and visits. My daughter enjoyed playing with the dog and cat, chasing after ants by the pool. I would definitely recommend the villa.

Cozy cottage with magnificent view and pool!

Our family of 4 stayed for a week in Il Forno and though it is the smaller cottage, it fit us well and was a good starting point to our daily travels. Also we were lucky enough to have some sunny days in October and relax in the pool with great views on Lucca! Marina and Paolo are amazing hosts - very warm, welcoming and helpful! They had a welcoming treat for us and booked us dinners in nice local restaurants, which you can reach by foot and have tasty meals at reasonable price. Their garden on the hillside is beautiful and peaceful, a perfect spot for countryside vacation, but still close enough to local villages and ancient town of Lucca. Understandably, with a gorgeous view comes a steep (and narrow) road up to the house, so you better have a smaller car and great driving skills. But it is totally worth it and also gets easier every time. Tuscan roads are a real driving lesson. :) Our children loved the place, especially the pool, but also Marina's dog and cats were special favourites of ours. It is a great place for rustic vacation, where we would definitely love to return! Grazie mille, Marina and Paolo, and lots of love from all of us!

Very very good

A really good place to visit Toscana Some details: Marina and Paolo are very welcoming, friendly and charming... Swimming pool is top with a outstanding view Same view from your house very well equipped Don't hesitate to ask to Marina and Paolo good address for restaurant, wine, olive oil,... Our son made some gardening with Paolo and we had some vegetables from their garden for our dinner Very good location to visit Lucca, Pisa, Firenze, .... and last but not least the sea is at 40 min drive .., you want to find a quite place to go to the sea ask Marina and Paolo they will give you their best place where there are only local people... This is a real comment from someone very enthusiasts after one week here ... I will surely recommend the place for friends and family Bertrand

Wir waren nur eine kurze ...

Wir waren nur eine kurze Zeit bei Marina und Paolo, aber wir haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen. Die Unterkunft befindet sich auf der Wein- und Olivenölstraße, die in den Bergen entlang zieht. Marina und Paolo haben Ihr Haus sehr abgelegen, es gibt 2 Unterkünfte, die gut getrennt sind, jeder hat seine Privatsphäre. Es gibt einen großen Pool mit einem tollen Blick auf das Tal, die ganze Toscana. Wir konnte bei Marina sowohl frische Eier bekommen wie auch Olivenöl kaufen. 5 min mit dem Auto entfernt am Fuße des Berges gibt es einen großen Supermarkt mit allen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft sehr komfortabel, wir mussten nur leider eigenes Waschmittel für die Spüle und die Geschirrspülmaschine organisieren. Fön, eine Microwelle, ein schwaches W-Lan sowie eine Waschmaschine sind vorhanden. Es gibt einen eigenen Platz zum Grillen ebenfalls mit Blick über das gesamte Tal mit Steckdosenanschluss und gutem Licht. Es ist eine sehr charmante Gelegenheit die Toscana kennen zu lernen. Es empfiehlt sich die nahe gelegenen Wein- und Olivenölplantagen zu besuchen. Außerdem lohnt sich ein Abstecher ans Mittelmeer mit leckerem Eis-Essen. Wir haben es sehr genossen und fahren gern noch einmal dahin. Vielen Dank an Marina und Paolo - Daniela und Romain

"Magnifique location et endroit sublime! La piscine, superbe, surplombant les oliviers, offre une vue exceptionnelle sur la vallée, ses cyprès, ses villas, ses clochers. Serviettes et draps sont changés toutes les semaines, la piscine est équipée d''une douche avec eau chaude. L''endroit est reculé, au bout d''un chemin escarpé, à flanc de montagne, et garantit une tranquillité parfaite, tout en étant à proximité des principaux sites touristiques. Merci à Marina et Paolo,toujours aux petits soins avec leurs hôtes, pour leur sourire et leurs attentions chaleureuses (fruits du jardin, oeufs du poulailler,...), et pour leurs précieux conseils en ce qui concerne les bonnes adresses du coin (restaurants, caves, ...)."

"Un grand merci pour cet accueil si chaleureux. Cette location est tout à fait conforme au descriptif et aux photos. Cette charmante maison perchée en haut d''une colline est un véritable havre de paix entre les vignes et les oliviers, offrant une vue splendide sur la plaine. Située prés de LUCCA et entre Pise et la magnifique Florence. Ce petit coin de paradis est idéal pour ceux qui comme nous fuit les zones peuplées de touristes. Wunderschöner Urlaub

Wir waren im August zu Gast bei Marina und Paolo und es war traumhaft. Die Kommunikation vor Beginn unseres Urlaubs war bereits sehr nett. Als wir nach vielen Stunden Autofahrt endlich in der Ferienwohnung angekommen sind wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen und uns wurde eine wunderschöne, sehr saubere Ferienwohnung übergeben. Bei Fragen stand uns Marina immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Ob es um die Reservierung zum Abendessen ging oder allgemeine Fragen sie war immer für uns da. Unsere Tochter hat sich besonders am wunderschönen, großen Pool erfreut denn wir auch abends nach einem Ausflug noch nutzen durften. Es war einfach herrlich! Der gesamte Garten war top gepflegt und wir hatten mehrer Möglichkeiten draußen zu sitzen. Auch ein Grill stand uns zur Verfügung. Ich würde jederzeit wieder zu den beiden fahren. Wir haben unseren Urlaub genossen und uns sehr gut erholt. Vielen Dank Marina und Paolo für die schöne Zeit bei euch❤️

La dolce vita.

This place is fantastic. The pool, the view, the great hospitality by Marina and Paolo. That's how we remember the Toscana. It was a pleasure staying with Marina for 9 days. She is so helpful and friendly and always open for a nice chat by the pool. Her recommendations where always great. We had a fantastic vacation. Thanks again Marina.

Oase zum Wohlfühlen

Die Unterkunft hatte alles, was wir brauchten. Sie liegt sehr ruhig mit einem wunderschönen Blick auf das Tal. Trotzdem ist sie zentral für Ausflüge, z. B. nach Lucca - einfach wunderschön, nach Siena, Pisa oder die in kleinen aber feinen Orte der Umgebung, wie z. B. Montecarlo oder die Sommerresidenz von Bonapartes Schwester. Nach Wanderungen oder Ausflügen lädt der Salzwasserpool zur Erfrischung ein. Die Gastgeber sind sehr fürsorglich und unterstützend. Sie sind immer erreichbar, bestellen auch einen Tisch in einheimischen Gaststätten. In der Ferienwohnung liegt ein Informationsordner mit Hinweisen über interessante Ausflüge. Insgesamt haben wir den Urlaub sehr genossen.

Ciao Marina e Paolo, Noi Eleonore 78j Michael 84j. Abbiamo avuto un buon tempo Nelly casa “I’ll Forno”.Prima abbiamo nostra vista sull’altra casa,purtroppo c’era Gia prenotata.”I’ll forno” era piacevole dotato di tutte le commodity e una vista stulpende sulle valle. Purtroppo la casa era per noi con tutti I passi faticoso.,bel giardino,un bel posticino ma dappertutto grading. Una piscina fantastical,con sedie,ombrelloni,Dacia,una festa per gli occhi,ma tuttavia alla nostra eta un azienda faticosa. Marina e Paolo Siete mini cari,un abbraccio! Eleonore e Michael

A wonderful stay in a dream location!

My partner and I had an absolutely fantastic stay here! The location is great whether you want to just stay by the pool and enjoy the incredible views over Lucca or venture out with a car to visit nearby places (Lucca ~25mins drive, Florence ~1hr drive, Pisa <1hr). Marina is an absolutely lovely hostess and she's put together a very useful information pack which you'll find in the accommodation when you arrive. The accommodation itself is very cosy with a rustic Tuscan theme which feels very authentic and welcoming. The kitchen is very well stocked with equipment (coffee machine, dishwasher, all kinds of utensils, there was some salt/pepper/oil which had been left by previous guests) so you won't be missing anything once you've done a food shop (there's a great supermarket, Esselunga di Marla ~15mins drive away). The gardens around the accommodation are beautiful and there are several different possible locations to enjoy a meal or drink outside, one of which includes a barbecue.

Tolle Lage - Natur, Ruhe und unweit vieler lohnenswerter Ziele -, herrlicher Panoramablick, liebevoll gestaltetes Domizil, Marina und Paolo sind super tolle Gastgeber, der Pool war einfach super.

Marina und Paolo sind fantastische Gastgeber mit einem Haus in traumhafter Umgebung

Marina und Paolo machen alles damit man sich als Gast wohl fühlt. Perfekte Gastgeber mit tollen Tipps für Restaurants oder Sehenswürdigkeiten.
