Bahama Sunset is a beautiful island home set on rugged cliffs overlooking the quiet Caribbean Ocean!
Guests at Bahama Sunset have a view of the crystalline blue-green waters from every window, and each night can watch stunning sunsets glide into the ocean from the wrap-around deck that hangs over the cliffs. You'll find excellent snorkeling and diving a one minute walk down the stone cut steps that bring you to your own private lagoon.
The marine life in our 'lagoon' includes colorful parrot fish, balloon fish, moray eel, grouper, lobster, crab, needle fish, red fans, sea snails, many varieties of coral and all kinds of other beautiful sea life. Eleuthera is a quiet, rural island and the nearby village, Gregory Town, is a sleepy harbor town full of friendly Bahamian natives. The night life at Bahama Sunset includes an orchestra of crickets and the dance of the ocean in the lagoon.
I’m sad to say that we are home from our trip…which was absolutely perfect! We had never been to Eleuthera before but we fell in love. The place was everything we could have wanted from a vacation rental- kitchen was well stocked for cooking, days and nights are quiet and relaxing, and the view is stunning! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
A GREAT escape for anyone who enjoys the natural beauty of the Bahamas. The location alone is worth everything! The local people will treat you like family unpretentious and genuine. the lagoon is full of surprises. The sunsets are unforgetable. The beaches are a dream. The house is all you need to relax and renew your spirits. Great work Scott and Wendy and phillip! This has been a highlight of our familys travels!! p.s get fresh fish from the local fishermen it's the BEST!
We stayed here the last three days of our trip - mostly because our first place had no more nights available, but also for a change of scenery. (Central Eleuthera Atlantic side vs North Eleuthera Caribbean side). The view at Bahama Sunset is absolutely breathtaking, and the snorkeling just awesome. We saw numerous different species of fish, and lots of gorgeous fan coral. The long cement staircase provides great access to the water below - though the last set of steps without railing could be a bit unnerving for some. The deck has a spectacular view, but unfortunately offers very little shade, despite the overhang. We stayed here in late November and the sun beat on the deck all day until sunset. The lounge chairs on the deck are great, and there are plenty of floating mattresses. The indoor decor is simple, but nice. Basic amenities are okay. Shower head not great. (Styrofoam) cooler was nice to have, and the clothes line (with clothes pins) was a plus. Phillip, our host, was kind and gracious. We did not use the AC, just the ceiling fans and open (screened) windows, which kept the place plenty cool. Nearby tiny Gregory Town is actually super cute, though not a lot there. Great sightseeing and beaches nearby. Need the AWD vehicle, as the roads are rough and full of potholes.
We stayed at this house in Nov 2016! We will absolutely stay here again, it was excellent. The house, the people and the island. Scott was easy to rent from and work with. Here are a few tips if you go:
1. Read the guest books at the house the first day! Will give you LOTS of info for the island.
2. Get to know the locals! We were a bit nervous our first day as we arrived near dark and didn't have our bearings, but as soon as we started interacting with the locals, we loved the place!
3. Plan plenty of time at the house, we found our self sitting on the deck watching the ocean and the "giant aquarium" below for hours! Snorkeling at the house, we saw moray eels, an eagle ray, sting rays, lion fish, puffer fish, sea turtles, angel fish and much more just at the house.
We would absolutely go back and have already given the link to this house to 4 other couples considering a trip to Eleuthera after seeing my wife's Instagram pics.
Thanks Scott, Eric & Amelia Villeneuve
We stayed 5 days at Bahama Sunset in August.
It is a lovely house with a wonderful deck above the sea.
Best spot for snorkeling : many fishes, even turtles (morning and evening).
Sunset are so beautiful...
A/C was useful at night.
Gregogy town is also very pleasant little town with friendly people.
I wish we could stay longer !
My husband and I stayed for a week at Bahama Sunset in early July and had the most wonderful time. It is the perfect place for a quiet getaway in a most spectacular setting. We got up every morning enjoying coffee on the deck overlooking the amazing Caribbean waters and listening to the gentle waves against the rocks. Then down to feed the school of Sargent majors who are always looking for some bread. We found ourselves going out to explore the beautiful beaches of Eleauthera during the day, but always looked forward to coming back to the house in the evening to snorkel in our own private cove and then enjoy the sunset over cocktails before dinner on the deck. The house is very comfortable and cozy for 2 people and is very well kept. The AC worked real well also as it was needed at night. It was very warm as expected for July. I would have to say that this was one of the best vacations we have had. Thank you Scott for opening your home and allowing us to spend time at this magical place.
had a wonderful weeks stay. the owner was very thorough and made sure everything went smooth. The house is very comfortable and quaint. the best part is the lagoon behind the house, we snorkeled there every day. I highly recommend Bahama Sunset!
Dozens of beautiful secluded beaches to explore. Guests have reported the best snorkeling is right at the house...Gregory Town is a small friendly village located 1 mile north.
