Budget Adventurer's Hut

if you are looking for a cheap a small self contained pad just a couple of minutes walk from the beach and a short bus ride (or leisurely 20 minute walk) from the heart of Bridgetown, then consider Sundale Cottage. It is a small cottage with the kitchen and bed in the one space and a separate bathroom. Please note that the bed is around 25% smaller than a normal double bed.

This a great location for beach holiday as you are very close to a very large beach and a selection of restaurants with 2 to 5 minutes walk including:
Bayside @ Nautilus; Coffeys Bar & Restaurant; Sage Bistro; and the Barbados Cruising Yacht Club.

The location is excellent for exploring the island as it is located on the main south coast bus route where in one direction you can get buses to Bridgetown and in the other to Oistins. From Bridgetown you can get buses to all part of the island.

The rent includes the provision of towels and linen which are cleaned or replaced once per week.

No AC but the there is a fan to help keep you cool.

Lovely hosts

This place was a really lovely place to stay and is a UNESCO world heritage site minutes away from the beach and so close to the city! Absolutely loved staying here and the hosts were so amazing. We will be back!

Sundale Cottage Handy

Staying at Sundale Cottage was very convenient and close to the beach and catching a bus to Oistens or to town. Armando the cottage host was very helpful and always around if you needed something. Will def stay there again when I go back to Barbados one day!

Brill stay at adventurers hut

Quiet place chilled. Clise to main road (Bay Street opposite Barbados Yacht Club) for taxi or public transport (3.5 bajan to anywhere).Shops 5 min walk. Hist Aramand Wayne amazingly helpful. Nice hammock to relax in. Would def recommend

I stayed for 2 months. The house is on a very loud and busy street. Some of the walls don't meet the ceiling, so sounds are not muffled which made it difficult to sleep. It also let in a lot more mosquitoes and I got so many bites. Lots of ants, too, even in the bed biting me and crawling inside my laptop and clothes. Several times there where Latin men yelling for Armando in the night, whether he was out or in bed. The owners argued a few times, once quite late at night. Armando was yelling for all the neighbors to hear, very disrespectful of me, a paying guest. I yelled for him to please stop. One morning he played loud music at 6:50 a m which woke me up. There was construction across the street, which added more noise. Had I known this cottage was in such a loud area and had the discomforts mentioned above, I would have never booked it.

Hi Karen Sorry to hear that you had so many challenges during your stay. If you had let me know I could have addressed these issues with the owners. I have a good relationship with them and am sure I could have secured some improvements for you. That said, Sundale is a low budget hut in an excellent location, some people love it for what it is. Please, please next time you have a problem with a self catering unit please speak to the owner or the manager to give them a chance to fix things.

Fantastic 2 weeks

Budget Adventurer's Hut was very cosy .Small fridge with freezer Cooker and oven very handy Small sink Everything what you need is there plates , mugs , bowls Small bathroom with shower everything works perfectly Bed ok Mosquito net TV Host is always around so no problem whatsoever.Any questions he will answer immediately:) —————————————————Close to Bridgetown walk 1km / bus ,Beach walk 4min ,Bus stop 2 min ,Petrol station Sol 2 min ,Museums around you can walk ,Bigger shopping you must take a bus cost 3.50BB one way or taxi.Small bars around,Many things to do around .Beach close by -umbrellas and chairs you must pay for.Neighbours very friendly.Fantastic 2 weeks .

I am an experienced traveller who has stayed in a wide variety of accommodations and am sharing this review to give future guests an accurate picture of what to expect. While the host’s hospitality was appreciated, the accommodation itself fell well short in terms of comfort and value.The unit is extremely basic and highly exposed—effectively sleeping outdoors—with significant ambient noise throughout the night. Earplugs are essential. Mosquitoes are a constant issue; a mosquito net is provided over the single-sized bed and is absolutely necessary. I was covered in bites including my face. The host purchased repellant coils on request so that I could be in the space without hiding under the net.Water was a persistent problem throughout the unit, with pooling in multiple areas, including beside the bed, at the front door, and by the stove, for unclear reasons. In the bathroom, shower water fills the small floor and drains slowly, leaving it wet for long periods. The host provides a squeegee to assist with draining and suggests lifting the drain grate. The bathroom entrance is finnicky and narrow and would be difficult for a larger person to access.At the price paid, this was among the lowest-quality accommodations I have experienced. This may only suit solo travellers specifically seeking a very rustic, outdoor-style stay. Note the bed will fit two people very uncomfortably.
