The Space:
Nestled within the historic embrace of New Orleans' Central Business District, The Picayune stands as a living testament to the city's rich history, with roots that delve deep into the realm of journalism. Originally home to the historic newspaper, The Times-Picayune, this renovated building boasts a connection to the bustling atmosphere of Newspaper Row, a designation used to describe this block of Camp Street.
Newspaper Row, was a vibrant stretch of Camp Street, and was once the epicenter of the city's journalistic endeavors. The Daily Picayune was a prominent player in this dynamic landscape, and its former headquarters in this building have been carefully transformed into the modern incarnation that is The Picayune today.
Stepping into The Picayune is like stepping into a living history book. The building pays homage to its journalistic legacy, with several framed restored prints of original newspapers, dating back to 1890, throughout the building and condo for your enjoyment. It serves as a bridge between the past and the present, where the echoes of historic headlines and the hum of a bustling newsroom can almost be heard through the decades.
Embrace the theme of "Local Culture" as you step into this 3-bed, 3-bath condo at The Picayune. The thoughtfully designed space features two king bedrooms with private bathrooms, one upstairs with a tub/shower combo and one downstairs complete with a step-in shower for a luxurious experience. Revel in the spaciousness and privacy offered by these master retreats. The guest bedroom, hosting a king bed, is equally inviting, with a cleverly designed hallway bathroom that transforms into a private oasis when the door is closed. This clever configuration adds a touch of versatility to the space.
The condo's meticulous design extends beyond the bedrooms. The open living space and high ceilings contribute to the overall sense of airiness, while original brick accents provide a nod to the building's historical charm. Modern amenities, including stainless appliances and Roku-equipped TVs, seamlessly blend with the historic touches, creating a distinctive and comfortable atmosphere.
