Great stay! The house had everything we needed to be comfortable. Good proximity to the Rillito bike path and a really lovely table out back to drink coffee and enjoy the morning from!

We very much enjoyed staying in this quaint guest house. As an older couple not accustomed to booking vacation rentals, we truly appreciated the comfort, quiet, and convenience of this location. The property is older construction but price to make it a great value. The hosts were pleasant and quick to respond to questions. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

First of all, Penny and Dennis were exceedingly kind hosts. My husband has a disability and they went out of their way to assist him! The casita was perfect for us! It is in a lovely, safe neighborhood close to everything in Tucson! We loved our stay in Tucson

Close to everything - a perfect landing spot!

Our visit to Tucson was made all the more enjoyable due to our stay at Penny and Dennis's guest house. The house was lovely and had everything we might need. The location was excellent and allowed us to easily visit all the sites we wanted to see while in Tucson. Penny and Dennis are both super helpful and made our trip a success. We will be back!

A great find.

Wonderful stay. There was a comfortable bed. Very private and secure. My husband was able to access the loop trail a mile from there. Dennis and Penny were very nice and responded quickly to any questions we had. There was a nice outdoor patio. We will definitely be back next year. We will be returning to this wonderful little house.

Perfect Place in Tucson!

Staying at La Madera in Tucson was the perfect place for us. Centrally located for all our needs shopping, walking on the Loop, and a short drive to nice restaurants. The guest house is was private, quiet, extremely clean, and very cozy. It contained everything we would need for an enjoyable trip away from home. I had to do some work and appreciated how well the WiFi worked. Really enjoyed meeting Penny and Dennis. They couldn't have been more pleasant, accommodating, and communicative. We definitely want to come back to Tucson and stay here again.

Tub was nasty, shower only. Mold and where you stand for shower was nasty. Couch was worn out. Mattress is a backache waiting to happen. I took photos of the tub/shower but can't upload

Cole, We are sorry you were unhappy with the property. This is the first time anyone has given us a negative review. We had the guest house professionally cleaned before your arrival and we have no evidence of mold. There is some caulk that needs to be repaired and perhaps you mistook this for mold. All our other guests have said the bed is comfortable. We are sorry you felt the couch was worn. We have had no complaints about the couch, the bed, or the tub/shower combination. We asked you several time if everything was ok and we wish you would have expressed your unhappiness with us. We work diligently to be responsive hosts.

Fantastic Stay.......as always

Penny and Dennis are amazing. The house is very clean and welcoming. We were getting in late and they had the lights on for us as well as the heat running and sofa bed made up ready to go. They even helped with carrying our groceries. I can't imagine staying with anyone else when in town. They are a dream come true and very much appreciated. See you next year!!!! Andy

Cozy and Private

Penny and Dennis were great hosts/landlords. They were both very nice and always available for any issues that might come up, yet they also gave me plenty of privacy. The house was very well stocked with plenty of linens and towels. An unexpected surprise was the additional products they supplied; toilet tissue, paper towels, kleenex, cleaning supplies and laundry detergent. The queen size bed had a memory foam pad on top of a good mattress and was very comfortable. Both of my guests who used the sofa sleeper reported that it was adequate and comfortable. There was a memory foam pad to use with it as well. Plenty of pots and pans and dishes for my use along with several appliances. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed very safe. There was a nice little park a block away; great for morning walks. It was handy to grocery stores, a variety of churches and many restaurants. My overall experience was better than expected and I will certainly put this place on the top of my list for future stays.

Wonderfully Convenient!

Penny and Dennis were exceptional hosts. They have all the details figured out and it made our stay exceptional. The guest house was spacious and comfortable with plenty of storage and space for cooking. The side entrance is well lit and very private. And the back patio is cozy and also very private. As a bonus the location is wonderfully central. Lots of great restaurants nearby and it’s in a really cute neighborhood. Our toddler loved the nearby park. Will definitely be back!

Awesome guest house!!

Penny and Dennis are great hosts!! The first day, Penny came by to introduce herself and showed me around the place. She answered any questions I had and both were available if I needed anything. Their hospitality was great!! The guest house was very cozy, quiet and had everything I needed! The location was convenient as well. If you want to go to Sabino Canyon Recreational Park or towntown, it is easy to get around! I would most definitely recommend this awesome guest house to friends, family and co-workers! perfect stay

My stay was ideal and Penny is the perfect host. The unit was very clean, cozy and very very quiet. Perfect location for cycling and golf. Located less than 1.5 miles from the loop you are able to get anywhere in Tucson via bicycle. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again. An added bonus is the lemon tree off the private patio. Great place to stay!!

Dennis and Penny love having people stay in the guest house. It is a wonderful way to show off the city we love to others. We live in the main house so are close by to answer questions. Dennis has lived in Tucson since he was 7 and has seen many changes in the 40+ years he has been here. Penny came to Tucson in 1993 and can't imagine living anywhere else. We've been renting our guest house since 2005 and hope you'll be one of our future guests.

We didn't plan to buy a vacation rental. When the 4th bedroom of our house turned out to be its own house we decided to make that adorable little house into a vacation rental.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Our guest house is centrally located in Tucson, minutes from any area attraction, shopping, restaurants and the university. We often walk to dinner at a locally owned restaurant or to do shopping. We're in an established neighborhood by a small park that is a great place to sit and read a book, play a little basketball or use the exercise equipment. We love the mild temperatures Tucson has to offer and the beautiful mountains and cacti.
