LOCATION
The apartment is located approx. 10 minutes on foot or 2 minutes via bus from the main station in Lauterbrunnen. From here all of the areas of the Jungfrau can be accessed via gondola or cog railway, or via the train to Interlaken if venturing further afield. All of the village amenities (restaurants, shops, Coop, Bank, Post Office and Tourist Office) are all within easy walking distance.
THE APARTMENT
The apartment has two good sized bedrooms and sleeps up to four people.
In the master bedroom there is a queen size double bed and in the second bedroom there are two single beds.
In the living area there is ample room to sit and relax either on the sofa or around a dinner table (which can be folded away when not in use to provide extra space). All of the expected home comforts are available for use by guests including a Flat screen 'Smart' 3D TV with international channels, Wi Fi, DVD and CD players and an Apple TV box.
NB. Although in the picture there is a log fire burning, unfortunately this is no longer in use and the chimney is now blocked. We are waiting for a new picture which will be updated asap. The apartment is however very warm, even in mid winter.
The kitchen is fully stocked with cutlery and crockery, as well as cooking utensils, pots and pans. There is a microwave, electric hob, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster and kettle.
There is a large balcony with unobstructed views down the Lauterbrunnen valley, including the local church and the Staubbach waterfall.
There is one bathroom in the apartment, with bath, shower, toilet and wash basin.
Downstairs in the basement, the private utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer, as well as a large washing basin. Additionally in the basement there is a communal games room and heated storage room (with private lockable ski store) for storing skis and other equipment.
If guests do have a car, there is a designated covered parking space.
Travel cots and high chairs are available at a small additional cost if required.
LAUTERBRUNNEN AND THE JUNGFRAU
There are over 500 kilometres of footpaths, 160 km of mountain bike trails, cable cars and railways, adventure sports, climbing and mountaineering areas, waterfalls and alpine lakes - all accompanied by the breathtaking panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
In Lauterbrunnen specifically and within walking distance of the apartment, are outdoor tennis courts, an outdoor Swimming pool and a play park for Children as well as both the Staubbach and Trummelbach Waterfalls.

The 214 kilometres of piste in the Jungfrau region are among the most picturesque in the world, catering for all level of skier and boarder, with long blue runs for beginners to the Lauberhorn world cup run and off piste areas for the more adventurous.
It is not possible to ski in Lauterbrunnen itself, although weather permitting it is possible to ski down to Lauterbrunnen from the Murren Schilthorn side.
From the apartment it is a couple of minutes bus ride to both the Gondola and main train station providing access to the Murren Schilthorn and Wengen-Kleine Scheidegg ski areas. Grindelwald is further afield and can be accessed via train, either directly from Lauterbrunnen or with a combined ski and train run from the Wengen side of the mountain.

Do not use the log fire. The apartment is very warm, even in Winter. The underfloor heating controls are in the cupboard in the hall.

Apartment was comfortable and everything we needed. The view of waterfall could not have been any more perfect! Great location to town and all activities.
The home was nice and welcoming. We enjoyed the welcome bottle of wine, the comfortable beds, and the excellent porch views. Having access to laundry in the basement was also a nice benefit.
My family & I really enjoyed our stay in James’s apartment for four nights in June. The home was outstanding — two good-sized bedrooms, beds and linens were comfortable, kitchen had plenty of dishes/pans, and the views were amazing. We really loved being able to eat our dinner on the balcony after a long day of hiking. We also appreciated having access to the private washer & dryer. James was very easy to communicate with. Overall, a great VRBO experience. We hope to be back!
James' place was a basic ski condo that served our purposes fine in the summer. The view from the balcony was gorgeous and it was nice to be a little bit outside the main area of town so it was a little quieter. It was about a 10 minute walk into town where there was a grocery store and some restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials as well and the beds were comfortable as well.
Comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with beautiful view of the Lauderbrunnen valley. Convenient walking distance to town center and local transportation. We hiked much of the area and took a day trip to Bern using our Swiss Travel Pass. The owner was easy to work with and our vacation went without a hitch. I highly recommend this property.
Location was perfect to walk to town center, train station and cable cars. We spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying the waterfalls and the mountains. The view was breathtaking. Most of our meals were cooked at the apartment. Addition convenience was the use of a washer/dryer with the apartment. Thank you so much.

Reasonably sized two bedroom apartment. Checking in was smooth . Host replies to you immediately. Well furnished .
Drawbacks - No fan in the rooms . Can get very hot in summer ( we visited in June and it was hot in the night ).
The shower was a nightmare . The host needs to replace the shower . We stayed for a week and it got annoying . Need to give ample time to take shower as it is poor stream of flow .

Sehr freundlicher Kontakt und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber, der schnelle Rückmeldung auf Fragen gibt. Die Wohnung hat alles was man braucht. Auch viele Kleinigkeiten wurden zur Verfügung gestellt. (z.B. Spülmaschinen-Tabs, Duschgel, Handseife, Spülmittel, Spülschwamm, Abtrockentücher, ...)Das Bad hat seine besten Zeiten hinter sich (Fürnier löst sich von den Schränken) und könnte mal erneuert werden.Für Skifahrer ein großes Plus, die Bushaltestelle ist nur 50m vom Haus entfernt.Noch eine kleine Anmerkung. Das Haus ist direkt an der Hauptstraße und die Fenster der Schlafzimmer geht zur Seite raus, wer einen leichten Schlaf hat, könnte hier gestört werden. Ab 6Uhr morgens geht der Berufsverkehr los.

We had the bad surprise upon arrival that works were in progress in a neighboring apartment. The noise was deafening. I appreciated the reaction of the proprietary and his contact in Lauterbrunnen. Despite having no responsibility in the situation they really cared and made their best. The situation was solved and we had a great stay.
It is good to know that in case of problem, the proprietary will react.
Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war super. Wir wurden vor der Anreise bestens informiert und bekamen immer unverzüglich Antwort auf Fragen. Die Lage der Wohnung war hervorragend. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Bahnhof usw. in Gehdistanz trotzdem ruhig und wunderschöne Aussicht auf den Staubbachfall.
Wunderbare Landschaft und Umgebung! Die Wohnung entspricht eigentlich der Inseratbeschreibung. Die Organisation und Schlüsselübergabe hat sehr gut geklappt. Leider ist der Kamin nicht zur Benutzung gedacht und für die Benutzung der Sauna braucht man Frankenmünzen.
The apartment has all you need, is located well, has a stunning view and is a great place to stay in winter (as well as in summer I imagine) near ski busses. Has it's own parking space. The owner is very kind and responsive.
Wir hatten eine tolle Woche im Lauterbrunnental. Die Wohnung war ideal für Ausflüge in die Umgebung. Der Blick beim Aufwachen auf Breithorn und Co: Unbezahlbar ! Die Wohnung ist gemütlich eingerichtet und es fehlt an nichts. James war immer sehr bemüht alle Fragen zu beantworten und uns bestens zu unterstützen: 5 Sterne !
I was delighted to find this lovely apartment well positioned in Lauterbrunnen and ideally placed for a week exploring the Bernese Oberland. It is spacious, clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, a good sized bath, powerful over bath shower and a large sleep inducing bed; although that could also have been due to the fresh air and exercise! We stayed with our two adult children and it worked very well for us. The only thing I wish we had taken were larger towels as the ones supplied are smaller than we like.
Communication with James the owner was prompt, efficient, friendly and helpful. The apartment is easy to reach from the station, we used the bus on arrival with our luggage but walked thereafter as it is only a few minutes away. There are a variety of restaurants and shops close by and we also enjoyed a game of mini golf almost next door on a day too cloudy to see the mountains.
Overall I thoroughly recommend this apartment and a holiday in such a stunning area
The apartment was very nice and had everything we needed. We liked having cooking and cleaning supplies. We also liked having access to a ping pong table. Tina was very nice and helped us when we had questions.
Clean apartment with a wonderful view. We spent many hours sitting on the porch enjoying the beautiful waterfall right in front of us. Great space to relax after long days of hiking. The kitchen was more than adequate and the rooms were very clean. James was very responsive to our questions. We highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment is well equipped, very clean, and comfortable! Far enough away from the 'main' street so it is quiet. The bus stop is close and the bus schedule and trains are well aligned so it is very convenient. The owner, although not local, is accessible by email and very attentive. Highly recommend the property.
