About Rodney Rogers

Hello, my name is Rodney Rogers. I am married to my lovely wife Christie. We have 2 wonderful sons Justin and Jamison. We own Pee Dee Fire & Safety Inc. We both graduated from Francis Marion University in Florence SC where I also played baseball. I was born and raised here and love the weather and slower pace of life. I have been in the service business for the last 15 years and know the importance of taking care of my clients. We go above and beyond what our clients expectations are and from comments from our guest they really enjoy visiting at Hideaway Haven. Starting in Nov. 2012 we will have a 2nd row beach house with heated pool for rent. 1898 S. Waccamaw Dr Garden City SC. vrbo #436735

Rodney Rogers purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Rodney Rogers chose Marion

This land has been in the Rogers family for over 60 years. It was once a working farm with the main crop being tobacco. It joins my moms 100 acres and I bought it from my aunt and uncle in 2004. Large tracts of land are hard to come by now so I am very pleased to have bought it. for families that want to be near the beach but not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, this is paradise. Only one cabin on the 100 acres, so you have all the privacy you could want. Lots of wildlife and nature to clear your mind.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is built overlooking a 1/2 acre pond with bass and bream. The cabin is made up of mostly pine wood from the trees off of the property. Lots of handmade items such as the spirial staircase. Kitchen sink was used on the farm at one point. We made a 20 foot waterfall that gives you that feeling of being in the mountains beside a flowing creek. You are one with nature and yet are only 15 minutes from super-walmart!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for having such a great cabinthat you share with others. We had an awesome anniversary vacation. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for - peace and quiet, no cell phones! We don't want to go back to reality(+ work )!

Wanted to also say that this is the 2nd rental we've been to in the Marion area & yours, Hideaway Haven, is by far the very best!

Thank you agian . Hope to be back soon.

As the title Says, "Secret" Simply Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent our 17th anniversary here for the weekend with our two dogs. No sounds of traffic. Just nature and us. The cabin is beautiful. This is a place you come to with groceries and desperate yourselves from the day to day. As a grilling man the green egg was,a highlight for me. Came home and did research and ordered my own kamado grill. Only texted with Rodney but was quick to respond and very easy to communicate with. Can't wait to return for a longer stay!!!

Hot tub is the centerpiece

  • 4 of 5

I have to admit, when we first arrived at the cabin, I wasn't sure I was going to be happy with the choice. We weren't fully prepared for the small, gas oven (but we made it work), there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, the beds are a little dated and not very comfortable (old springy mattresses), and the internet in the house was out the entire time we were there. I figured it was a temporary outage, but it never came back on for the 2 days we spent there. We were looking forward to listening to music outside by a campfire and in the hot tub, but between no phone signal and no internet, that didn't work out. There was no firewood for a bonfire or the fireplace, though the welcome binder said occasionally there would be some in the shed (there was not). That said, there are plenty of good things as well. The property is very remote and private, with discreet entry (keypad to access door key). If you enjoy being away and 'off the grid', then this place will be great. There are plenty of walking/hiking trails through the surrounding forested area, and the night sky views are wonderful, especially from the hot tub on the deck (which by the way, could probably seat 5-6 comfortably though it was just the two of us). I can understand needing to bring some of the basics when you go away for a few days (bathroom essentials and whatnot) but I kind of expected at least some of those things to have been provided. All in all, we made the best of the few days we spent there even with the few unexpected things that came up. We would most likely stay again in the future but would check on the amenities ahead of time.

Great time

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great visit! The weather was warm in the day, we would walk the property and cool at night, to build a fire in the fireplace. Cozy and quiet. A nice cabin to getaway and unplug.

Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

I first would like to say thank you to Rodney and family for how responsive they were leading up to both of our stays at the cabin! We used the cabin as a halfway point between PA and FL on the way down and back and it was exactly what we needed for relaxation! Rodney was in constant communication if I had questions and letting me know when the cabin was ready and I cannot tell you much I appreciated that!

The cabin itself is quite nice. My dogs enjoyed the screened porch in the back, they also enjoyed the large deck out front and of course enjoyed our hiking adventure through the entire property! The property is so large and secluded!

It is a cute and quaint cabin. It was clean and very welcoming. One of the things we always look for when renting and/or being consistent renters on repeat vacations is a warm and welcoming feeling and this definitely had that vibe. My family also enjoyed the hot tub on the deck.

My two teenagers who are so internet reliant even disconnected, played checkers on the back porch and went exploring. My dogs of course were in heaven and we appreciated that for a few extra dollars we were able to bring more than the two dogs with prior approval.

Thank you so much Rodney and family! We will be back the next time we are in the area. 5 stars for sure!

The Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Rodney was been an excellent host! Renting from him is our first experience using VRBO and we couldn't recommend this cabin enough! Everything about it is PERFECT! Not only are you extremely secluded from the rest of the world but you're also not far from all the attractions. We traveled from PA to SC with our three pups to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. We highly recommend staying for a week as we have, you won't regret it! We enjoyed each and every day while at the cabin! We loved exploring the area during the day (the locals are so beyond nice!!!) and returning to the cabin at night to relax. The water fall, hammocks, screened in porch, hot tub, grill...every. single. thing. was amazing! Heck, even the beds were comfortable and we loved that we could control the temperature of the cabin! Our dogs especially loved being able to roam free, hiking with us on his 100 acre lot and exploring the pond. If you're looking for a place to escape, this is what you've been looking for! The cabin is extremely private, clean and has all the amenities you're looking for with a ton of extras, Rodney exceeded our exceptions! We love this place and can not wait to come back!
