OCEANVIEW Avon - Dolphin Lane - Three stories of fun and sun can be found in this whimsical beach home with views of ocean and sound, located just a short stroll from the boardwalk beach access. Spend lazy days in the hammock on the deck, or soak in the decadent hot tub on the second level deck. Settle back in the deck furniture for an evening of stargazing while listening to the crashing surf or be the first in your gang to spot the Hatteras Light coming on at sunset. And, when it's time to call it a day, let BERMUDA BREEZE rock you to sleep - a specialty of the house! Catch the BREEZE for an island experience to remember.

New for 2026: New under-house lockable storage and fishing rod racks. New stainless steel microwave and coffee maker.

Dogs are welcome for a fee of $200/dog/week.
If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the $200 weekly fee will apply for each dog and will be added once your reservation is finalized.

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-refundable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy, or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

Property was as described. Loved the location to many areas. Loved the community pool as a break from the ocean. Great acess to the beach and also to a day area on the sound side. Would stay here again

Family Fun with Furry Friends!

Great location with everything you need for your beach vacation. Great view and easy walk to beach. Loved the outdoor dog wash station. Had a wonderful time with our family and 2 dogs 🐕

Great Proximity to Beach

The property was not on the beach, but you have easy, 5 min. walk to the beach. The house was well stocked, CLEAN and family/multiple guest friendly (this coming from family of 7, with young kids). The Property Manager was amazing, stayed on top of any possible issues and easy to communicate with. Enjoyed our stay throughly.

Lots of stairs!! By the end of the week, the dogs were so over them. If you have difficulty with stairs, we advise not renting this house. Inside of house was clean, outside had some rusted grill tools lying around as well as old beach toys and boogie boards. Property manager did come by to clean up, once we mentioned it to them.Beds were very uncomfortable and the comforters were very old and dated. Otherwise house is very cute and we enjoyed our week.

Perfect Get Away

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the property for our vacation. The first two levels had the same lay out, a master bedroom, a kids room with a set of bunk beds and one single, and a full bathroom. This provided everyone with plenty of privacy. The third floor was the perfect gathering place with an open kitchen, living room, and the third level deck with awesome ocean views! Everything about the house was cozy and comfortable, with short walks to both the beach and many restaurants.we we're daily customers at Island Time Muffins and Scones! We were very happy with our stay, and would return in a heartbeat.

Location was good. House was good.although some parts weren’t cleaned well. The fish station needs a new cutting board and there was garbage that could have been cleaned up. Some areas weren’t as clean as they could have or should have been. Especially in the kitchen. We arrived and had a mandatory hurricane evacuation the next day so the experience could have been better. When I did call about some things the person was apologetic and very nice about it.

Fun in the Sun

Overall the house worked out very well for us. Take note that there are a lot of stairs both inside and out! We expected that since it wasn’t our first visit to OBX. There was only the basics in the house so, if you think you’re going to need it or want it…..BRING IT! Only downfalls with the house was that the 2 queen beds are very uncomfortable and the outside stairs could be better lit. The house was clean and tidy when we arrived and it was great having sheets and towels provided. Great proximity to the beach but does require a decent hike across the dunes. Honestly a great house for the price per week.

Family Easter

House was not clean, cockroaches in house, company stated that was normal on the island, appliances old and did not work properly, some of the furniture on the top deck was broken. My 3 year old grandson had to x-ray and splinters remove because a hole in a chase lounge. I emailed the company for a resolution but didn’t receive an email except acknowledging they received it and a 50 gift certificate for pizza.

Please know we are always eager to address any concern as soon as it is brought to our attention. Pest treatment was sent but refused by the guests. Please also know that cleaning shortfalls are generally very rare for our teams and that we are always glad to return for additional cleaning if anything has been missed. We are very sympathetic to any feeling of disappointment during a treasured family vacation and repeat our sincere apologies. Our hope is that, with some time, April might grant us another opportunity to impress and delight her in all of the ways we are confident we can.

Great for Beach and Fishing but Needs TLC

The house was as advertised - plenty of beds and room for a large group and a very short walk to the beach. The furnishings are older, as expected with a rental, and clean but the bed spreads are very old, warn and torn. There were stains on the carpets and the bath tubs took hours to drain after a shower. The hot tub was excellent and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking and dining. The location was great for beach access and fishing but it was a 1 hr drive to most rainy day activities. It appeared that the tennis courts were bulldosed and unavailable for at least summer of 2024. The pool was about 1.5 miles away with easy access and plenty of seating.

She still has a lot to offer

Our family had a wonderful time here. The home has some age on her, and needs a major renovation, redecorating, and updating. But the location is wonderful, and it's easy to imagine generations of memories being made there. The best part of the home, in my opinion is the view from the top floor and the dawns and sunsets on the top deck. As others mentioned in the review, folks staying here have to be very mobile as the kitchen and common areas are up 3 flights of stairs. Any issues we had with the property being a bit run down did not take away from having a wonderful time together.

Pleasant stay
