Newly Built 3BD 2BA Modern Cottage in downtown Pensacola
About Lois Pitt
I am from Nashville Tennessee and I had a vrbo listing in Nashville and decided I wanted to do one in an area that I could come and enjoy a vacation myself so I chose Pensacola. Pensacola reminds me a lot of Nashville and you get the benefit of having a beach nearby. I love Pensacola and I wanted to share my home so that people could experience Pensacola in a home that was given a lot of tlc and attention to comfort.
Lois Pitt purchased this House in 2018
Why Lois Pitt chose Downtown
This property is located in the hip up and coming downtown area of Pensacola which has a vibe similar to my home town of Nashville Tennessee. What I really love is the close proximity to the downtown restaurants and being 8 miles from Pensacola Beach. You can enjoy dinner at the Bay and daytime fun in the sun at the beach.

Immaculately clean cottage
We stayed at this same rental a year ago, and it was impossible to tell that anyone had been there since. Great location is near the convention center and Seville Quarter, but tucked away in a quiet neighborhood.
The location is good with a few restaurants in walking distance. I would've liked a full coffee maker, rather than just the keurig, but that's being a little picky as a big time coffee drinker. Due to the weather during our stay, we didn't get to enjoy the backyard, but it looks lovely.
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We strive for a 5 and we are sorry we did not rank a 5 with you due to the lack of a coffee pot you would have preferred. We will add another coffee pot so that other guests will have a choice. We hope to host you again when you return to Pensacola!
Clean and convenient. Great for our Family!
This was a great place to stay for our family with elementary school age kids. The place was clean and well kept. It is convenient to everything. Vincent Whibbs community park and Corinne Jones park both had great playgrounds. Publix and Ever’man (local store - think Whole Foods meets Trader Joe’s) grocery stores nearby. Lots of downtown restaurants. Also, it’s a quick drive to the beach.
A Pensacola gem
What a beautiful home in the heart of Pensacola. My wife and I pretty tough critics when it comes to hotel rooms and vacation home rentals ( were from Boston so we complain about everything ) but this house checked all the boxes. Upon arrival this house was absolutely spotless like it was never lived in before but the greatest thing was the house was fully appointed and I mean every detail was thought of. For a city neighborhood I found it to be quite and safe. We met both neighbors and their super nice people who grew up in Pensacola. Lois the house owner was very easy to do business with making the stress of traveling a little easier. Its honestly the perfect spot to be central to all that Pensacola has to offer.
Not for young children
The property is very new and clean, in fact most of the furniture and some of the kitchen items still have tags on. However, it just wasn't a good fit for us. There is a lack of furniture in the living/dining room and an overabundance of furniture in the bedrooms. There is no dining table aside from a very small, tall, spinning table, a large glass coffee table with sharp corners and the breakfast bar with swivel chairs, one of which seemed loose/broken and likely to fall over when sat upon. Needless to say, it was difficult to feed my 1 and 4 y/o with this setup. As mentioned previously, the bedrooms were packed with bulky furniture, for example the master had a large armoir at the foot of the bed for the TV instead of just mounting it to the wall which made access to the bathroom difficult. Things just seemed poorly thought out such as the fan/light switch in bathroom backwards, the toilet in the master facing the wall, vanity lights in the master bath pointed up so had to get ready with dim lighting, no access to wall outlets next to master bed for charging phones and a sound machine instead of an alarm and the master shower was small (it needs one of those "C" shaped curtain rods). We stayed over Thanksgiving and I prepared food at the home - for the most part I had every thing I needed but the kitchen layout was not easy to work with, one of the small saucepans would not lay flat on the stove, the cooking utensils were cheap with many of them partially melted and the water dispenser on the fridge did not work. I think this would be a great place for a couple or a family with teenage children but I found it poorly suited for our needs.
Wow! We try to place the safety and comfort of the guests at the top of our priority list at all times. I am so sorry this guest had such a negative response to our efforts, however we do have it clearly listed as not being young child friendly to avoid this kind of experience from mothers of young children. The home is a 2nd home for us and we want our guest to feel that it is theirs too. I think the pictures and the listing are a clear picture of what is to be expected. As for the chair, this was not reported to me before this stay by my housekeeping people so I did not know we had an issue. The chairs do have to be tightened as a routine maintenance, but clearly this one chair may need to be tightened more often, but because they are relatively new I did not know that. There were 5 more of the chairs that were fine which should have accommodated 2 adults and a 1 year old and a 4 year old. A couch that seats 3 and 2 chairs in the living room should have been adequate seating as well. We provide beach chairs, a foot stool, and the stools at the bar for use to give enough extra seating for the guests. The bar is at least 7 or 8 feet long so 4 people can eat there comfortably, we provide the small table with 2 stools in the dining area which will not accommodate a large dining table. The kitchen is well stocked as stated in many of the prior stays and unfortunately people sometimes are a little hard on utensils which is why we provide more than enough. The coffee table is beveled glass, not sharp at all, but is rectangular in shape therefore it has corners which are demonstrated in the pictures. The table may not be what a mother would have in her home with small children, but the home was not advertised for young children. We welcome parents to determine their decision based on our candid and accurate description of our listing. The master bedroom is comfortable and has enough pictures and reviews to demonstrate what to expect. It is a little tight, but provides room for clothes etc for guests who want a long stay. I hope that other guests who read this know we love children and welcome your family and friends, but we hope that you will carefully choose the home that best fits your expectations. We strive for 5 and meet that goal most of the time.
