About David and Diane Bond
We spent years renting lake homes for our family vacations. In 2016, after looking at a lot of homes on lakes all over WI, we found Lake Irogami and fell in love. We purchased our own cottage, and shortly thereafter moved in full time because we love this lake so much! Living on the same lake, we truly believing that we can provide the best experience for our guests. We enjoy meeting each family and helping them make memories and enjoy Bonding Time!

Why David and Diane Bond chose Wautoma
We really wanted a home on Lake Irogami for people to enjoy. We were so excited to find this home, which we purchased in May of 2018. We spent all of May and June remodeling the home to make the best experience for our guests. We believe this is one of the nicest homes to rent in the area, and with NO STEPS to the water, it is a great setting!
What makes this Cottage unique
There is so much outdoor space, from the large ground level deck to the lakeside yard, 100 feet of sandy frontage and awesome sunsets. We tried to set up the home to be ideal for large groups. From our time as renters we knew having two fridges in the kitchen would be so nice. Solid surface counter tops, Kitchenaid dishwasher, garbage disposal, and lots of space make this kitchen the nicest one around. We intentionally avoided bunk beds. Other homes sleep as many people as our lake home, but they do so by putting bunk beds in every room. Here, all bedrooms and the loft feature unique and beautiful log beds. The bathrooms are very spacious, not typical of most lake homes. We added a game room to entertain all ages, and our guests love it. We are most proud of the custom bedroom and bathroom in the lower level. From our years of renting with family and friends, we learned that the kids all wanted to sleep in one room together. This room sleeps NINE comfortably and the decor is beautiful. The thick slab live edge pine boards we used to make the beds are repurposed shelves from the bar at a local steak house that went out of business, and the steps for the ladders are the actual steps from the playground slide where my dad went to elementary school! The bathroom is a wonderful mix of rustic and modern styling, and for your comfort includes special touches like heated floors, night lighting, heater fan, and heated toilet seat. We are always adding and improving. We really want our guests to be impressed!

Lovely place to spend a lovely long weekend
The Bonds are very friendly and helpful hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with our group of 16 and would recommend the home for family and friend gatherings. We enjoyed the Silvercryst and the charmingly dilapidated Miley Wilty (pay attention to your food, which is awesome, not the property’s heavily weathered “back yard”, which isn’t).
At night, we thoroughly enjoyed s’mores around the fire pit. We had a few anxious moments as our littlest children, in the 4-5 year old range, tottered a little too close to the fire while tripping over the uneven surface. In the end the lake view and S’mores made the extra care worth it, as did the host-provided firewood.
During each day, we had a ball on the lovely sandy lake bottom. The description of this lake being quieter than its neighboring lake was accurate, with neighboring homes mainly enjoying the water without motorized boats. With the lake water level at higher depth this year, the kids had plenty to play in, even 2 feet from shore, while adults could keep their heads above water while headed to the nice island platform about 15 feet from shore.
The kitchen is huge and very accommodating for larger groups. Lake views from the eat in kitchen area mark this as the best room in the house. The rest of the house is serviceable, but not spectacular, with a great outdoors theme. Where the indoors really shine is the basement game room, filled with fun activities for the kids in our group - we found it to be nearly continually in use during our stay.
We were surprised by the sulfur smell and taste of the well-sourced tap water. The sulfur odor is not harmful to drink but was very off-putting to some members of our group. Forewarning to bring separate drinking water would have been appropriate.
Again, we’d recommend this home - the boat house and water craft provided are excellent - thought to child safety is evident in tons of flotation devices and life preservers. Mostly separate living zones prevented the folks upstairs and in the basement from feeling too cramped.
We’re thankful for the opportunity to enjoy Wautoma for the price you’d be hard pressed to find a better value in the area.
We had a wonderful time. The owners were very accommodating and the house was spotless. A large assortment of water toys are also available!

It was amazing. We had such a good time. 10 adults and 11 kids aged 3 to 15 and there was room for us all. They have all the water toys for the kids not to mention the game room! The older kids loved it. The fishing was great. The little ones caught fish every day and loved it. The kitchen has everything you need. The little touches all over the house made it so homey. Renting the boat was the best idea ever. I lost my wedding rings on the last day and I told the owners who alerted the cleaning staff. They found them within a half hour!! We had 21 people looking for those things!! Hahaha. But Diane wanted to make sure they were found. Such a quite lake with beautiful sunsets every night. So hoping to go back next year. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
We are so happy that you loved the place! Sorry you were unable to book the dates you wanted for next year, but glad you were able to book at our Up North property instead!!! You'll have a great time ... can't wait!
We had an awesome stay in this lake home. Everything exceeded our expectations! David & Diane were so helpful from the time we booked right up to check out. 4 generations were able to spend 5 days together all in one home. The lake was perfect for the grandkids to play in. All the boys enjoyed the fishing. And easy access to the lake accommodated my elderly father’s wheelchair to get him down to the dock. We were all sad to see our time at the peaceful setting come to an end. Definitely would book this property again. Thank you again David & Diane for going above and beyond for our family!
We are so happy that your large group had plenty of space, and that the wheelchair was able to maneuver around the house and property well! We enjoyed meeting your group!
This place has a beautiful setting. It was so relaxing. There was something for everyone to keep you entertained. We are impressed with on how clean and welcoming this was.
We are happy your party was able to fully enjoy all the property and house has to offer during your short stay. We have awesome cleaning people who have great attention to detail, so we are happy to hear once again that our guests are noticing!

What a special place to spend family time. Opportunity to canoe, kayak, swim, paddle board, bike, run, go tubing , have a campfire and dine together. The home was very clean, all amenities included even makings for smores! Prompt communication with the owner. Able to bring our own
boat, room to park numerous cars and the trailer. The water is clean in this lake and has a sandy bottom. Very little traffic on the lake. Would love to return. Very much enjoyed our time in the sun.
We are so happy that you appreciated all the lake had to offer! We agree, it is so nice to be on a great lake that isn’t so busy with other traffic. We were happy to help with parking your trailer. We always appreciate guests such as yourselves that take good care of the property and are respectful. Thanks for choosing our home and we certainly look forward to seeing you again!
We chose this location for a reason! It has a wonderful up north feel with lots of wildlife and nature sounds, but is only about a half hour drive to busier cities like Oshkosh and Waupaca that offer a tourist feel, outlet shopping, multiple golf courses, theaters, large venue music festivals and EAA, major hospital, and more.
Our cottage is about a mile from Moose Inn supper club and another half mile is Silvercryst supper club (on Silver Lake) - a beautiful walk, or short drive away! There are many more restaurants, golf, shopping, groceries, ski hill, library, etc within a 10 min drive. Our local taxi also offers food delivery service if you don’t want to leave the lake!
There are a few quaint shops, some offering homemade foods, coffee, and wine. Lunch Creek Vineyard & Winery, and the Pine River Winery are nearby.
If you enjoy fishing, water skiing and tubing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snowmobiling this is an awesome location! Our lake allows boating until dusk, so you really get to enjoy a full day on the lake! Then finish your day relaxing in your chair with a glass of wine, enjoying one of the best spots for sunsets on the lake! End the evening sharing stories of your day around the campfire roasting s’mores and listening to the frogs. In the morning walk out your bedroom balcony to watch the sun rise with a cup of coffee or tea, listening to the birds sing. It’s just beautiful!!!
