Quality holiday cottage
We have just spent a most relaxing week at the Coach House. This is the cleanest property we have ever stayed in. The kitchen and bathroom are high quality, super shower. Chris and Jags are the perfect hosts, helpful but not intrusive. The location is peaceful and beautiful. It is a short drive to Looe, with Polperro and Fowey a little further away. A picturesque part of Cornwall.

Hi Ken, Rachel,
Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review of the Coach House.
Glad you liked the cottage and appreciated the kitchen and wet room as we did spend some time on those. Jag's is a little OCD when it comes to cleaning, and guess I am too really, but more on the car side of things!
Good luck with the driving experience and would be good to see you down here again some time.
All the best,
Chris & Jags

Peace and tranquility in Cornwall
The cottage is set within beautiful Cornish countryside away from modern day hustle and bustle but only a short distance from many places of interest. The cottage has all the " mod cons " that you will ever need and is very comfortably furnished. The welcome pack was exceptional and gave us a great start to our holiday, especially the wine and beer!! We would definitely recommend The Coach House.

Sie sind herzlich willkommen.
Es war eine Freude, dass Sie bleiben.
Ich hoffe, Sie eines Tages in der Zukunft wiederzusehen.
The Coach House was in an ideal location to explore many of the seaside villages and tourist attractions in Cornwall. The accommodation was very clean and the kitchen and bathroom recently updated. The seating area outside, although small, had a lovely view over a valley. The hosts were very friendly and thoughtful and included local food and homemade treats in a welcome pack. They provided helpful information about where to visit and park and even gave me a birthday gift. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hi Both. Thanks so much for your lovely words. Glad you enjoyed your time down here in Cornwall. Hope to see you again sometime in the future.
From the very start of this booking, I cannot fault Chris and Jags. Chris showed immense patience with us.I have never seen a welcome basket as generous, and as thoughtful as we are vegan, so not 'easy as such. They are just perfect hosts. Very friendly, helpful, but never intrusive. On hand for any issue should one arise. The property is lovely. The finishing touches such as quality of toilet paper and bed linen are exquisite. The owners are hugely generous. It's a total recommendation from us.

Poco and Shelby 100% agree also and say hi by the way.
The initial impression of The Coach House was great and this continued throughout our stay. Everything was done for our comfort and enjoyment from the exceptional Welcome Pack to the very contempory wet room. We had a wonderful time and are booking to return next year.

A comfortable cottage in an ideal location
The Coach House was comfortable and peaceful. It was well equipped and spotless, and the welcome pack was much appreciated. Chris and Jags were excellent hosts; there to give advice, but not intrusive. It was in an ideal location to enjoy exploring the Cornish coast, and lovely countryside. After busy days out, we were happy to spend most evenings relaxing in the cottage with a glass of wine. There are many places still to visit so I think we will have to return.
Many thanks, Chris and Jags.

Fab Location for a luxury break in Cornwall
We have just spent 4 days as a last minute short break in Cornwall and wow, how lucky we were the Old Rectory Cottage was free due to a cancellation.
The actual cottage is lovingly maintained and pretty much all of it seems like it is almost new still. It was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated.
The location is lovely, tranquil and so peaceful and is brilliantly situated to be able to explore the Cornish coastline and countryside.
There is so much to do within an hour's radius that you will never be short of ideas.
Jags and Chris are very welcoming and mega friendly and always helpful and happy to offer advice, which we used on numerous occasions!
We totally recommend it to anybody and looking forward very much to a return visit sometime next year.

The property was perfect for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
Very nice, well equipped with all our daily needs with some much appreciated extras. Slightly chilly at times until we realised the heating wasn't working but it was fixed before we were back from our day out. The owners were lovely, kind and extremely accommodating. Thanks so much Chris and Jags'.

5 stars and more
If you want a luxury cottage, in a beautiful setting with warm and welcoming hosts then look no further than The Coach House. I would have no hesitation in agreeing with all the 5 star comments of recent reviews. This really is a little gem of a cottage and it was a pleasure to sit out in the evening with a drink and a good book after a day exploring the likes of Cotehele, Lanhydrock and the South West coastal path.
Chris and Jags, our hosts, were so helpful and friendly and we valued their knowledge of the local area in planning our days. The very generous and thoughtful welcome goodies were much appreciated and nothing was too much trouble. When we come back to Cornwall we know exactly where we will be staying.
Thanks so much Chris and Jags for a lovely week.

An excellent choice ............
Strongly recommend a stay at the The Coach House - the property is of excellent standard and very comfortable and the 'welcome pack' after a long journey is so well received - no need to rush out to the shops for supplies. Chris and Jags, the owners. are so warm and welcoming and are on hand if you have any problems. The view across the valley from the property is amazing and you will not hear a sound expect for maybe the sheep in a distant field. We were able to explore the whole of North Cornwall and the South from Megavissey to the Devon border with easy from The Coach House. For a holiday to remember you will not be disappointed with The Coach House

Everything that we had hoped for plus much more
We have just spent a fantastic week in the Old Rectory Coach House, the location could not be better, quietly set at the end of a private driveway with uninterrupted views across open countryside, ideal for the end of day glass of wine or just to watch the sun go down.
If you are 'Bus Passers' like us there is easy access to a good bus service to the nearby seaside villages of Looe and Polperro.
The property has every quality 'high end' and modern conveniences that anybody could wish for. Our hosts Chris and Jags are lovely warm and welcoming people they certainly went the extra mile to make our stay so enjoyable.
I could not end this review without a mention of the 'Welcome Pack' everything for our immediate needs plus much more and even a mid week top up, something we have never had before.
For a relaxing break within beautiful surroundings with first class accommodation this is the place to go, we couldn't wait to book another week in July when we got back home.
Look forward to seeing you again soon. Peter and Jackie

About the host
Hosted by Chris & Jags
We are Chris and Jags. We have been running the holiday cottage at the Old Rectory since 2012 and really enjoy meeting so many different people from different walks of life from all over the world. We are very easy going and happy to help out with local places to visit etc. We love living where we do in Cornwall and feel almost privileged to be the custodians of the lovely old building that the Old Rectory is. the grounds are a delight in the summer months and we hope you get to enjoy them as much as we do. We look forward to welcoming you to the Coach House at the Old Rectory.
Why they chose this property
We spent 3 years trying to find the perfect location to both live and run a holiday cottage business until we found the Old Rectory. It is perfectly located for a quite retreat as it's rural yet close by to the sea and the main A38 which can then get you onto many various places to visit. We have taken many aspects from our travels to create the Coach House we we gutted and refurbished to a high level of comfort in 2012. Everything in the coach house and it's location is what we thought we would like from a holiday and judging by all the reviews on here and other sites everyone else seems to agree and like the cottage too.
What makes this property unique
We think you'll love the peace and quiet of the countryside at the Old Rectory and enjoy the view over the valley sat outside enjoying either a glass of wine or perhaps a local Tribute beer or local cider.
