We enjoyed our stay at the Manor.
The Manor House was basically clean. The floors were beautiful. The bedrooms were large and clean. It was a little farther back off the road than we had thought. We enjoyed it and had a good time there. I
Quiet and peaceful!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at this home. Peace and tranquility is exactly what we were looking for and this home delivered! Thank you to the owners/property managers for offering this opportunity.
Grass needs trimming beside house. Bushes needs cleaning out. Water heater not working correctly. Overall, everybody liked the house. Would stay again. Beautiful backyard and secluded
Lovely site and comfortable house a wonderful combination. The staff is welcoming and helpful. It was a wonderful time.
Gracious country living!
I absolutely love the grace and beauty of this southern manor. It is decorated befitting it’s ante-bellum style — 4 poster beds in large, tall rooms, formal draperies, a library, thick, luxurious crown molding, gleaming hardwood floors, and impressive fireplaces and central stairway! I fell in love!
Lovely river views in 'grand dame' house
We stayed here for a family get together - 7 adults and 5 children from 11 to 22. And it was perfect. There is a dining room which we used for family meals and there are tables on the porch if you have more people and want to sit looking over the lawn. There are enough plates/bowls/etc for an army so that was good. Nicely well equipped. We loved the big rooms, high ceilings and lovely decor. Very elegant grand dame. She's a bit 'faded' - some peeling paint/wallpaper, dirty windows - but the inside was pristine and had a great feel. The folks running the place were very nice and extremely helpful. The views are great, there is a long riverside beach to go play on and it is in delightful pretty countryside. We stayed here and then went during the day to Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown, etc taking the ferry. It takes an hour all in but by breaking it up with a nice trip across the James river it was a treat rather than a chore. We loved it and I'd happily go stay there again, for longer!
Just across the James River from Williamsburg and Jamestown. Water Country USA and Bush Gardens are very near. Easy ferry ride to Williamsburg, Jamestown.
